Thursday morning feel good stories

| June 2, 2016

A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania police officer walked in on burglars in his own home in the middle of the day. The article says that he discharged his firearm, but that he didn’t hit anyone, but the pair of thieves are in custody.

A gas station clerk shot it out with thieves in Fresno, California. The clerk was not injured, but one of the crooks was found DOT about 50 yards away from the scene. The other one is probably still running.

A security guard in Charlotte, North Carolina, faced down two armed thieves at a local business. One was DRT (dead right there) when police arrived – the other is still running away.

In Homewood, Alabama, a homeowner went to investigate when he heard someone wondering around inside his home. He told the man he found there that he had a gun and that he was ready to shoot. The crook fled the scene.

Yesterday, we had a mother who turned her son into the police when he robbed a convenience store. Today we have a soon-to-be-ex-wife who turned in her husband along with the BB gun he used to rob the store in Montevideo, North Dakota after she saw him on a Facebook video of him robbing a convenience store posted by the local police department. Of course, she didn’t turn him in until after he took her for an evening out to the local casino.

Back to the subject at hand; In Bryam, Mississippi, a teenager who was home alone found a strange man inside the home who was armed with a handgun, so the teen shot him once with a modern sporting rifle. The bullet hit the intruder in the hand, went up his arm and into his chest cavity. He was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived.

Dude makes it sincere effort to reconcile with his wife and look at the thanks he gets!

Probably used the money from the robbery to take her out on the town. Makes me wonder if he’s just a loser? Or how “high maintenance” she is? Or possibly both.

Bill M

Probably wasted too much of it on the tables and not enough on her.

Bobo

Dead from being shot in the hand. That’s some dumb luck.

B Woodman

Dumb luck on the perp’s part. Good shootin’ on the teen’s part. Either way, OUCH!

CCO

I wonder if this counts as a “magic bullet?”

Aysel

I would say in this case, yes

Bill M

This seems quite appropriate:

Play stupid games; win stupid prizes.

Once again, a good day for armed citizens. Based on the number of PAs (perps), yesterday must have been a “double header”.

For the “armed citizen batting line” we have 9 total PAs (perps); armed citizens had 3 HRs (DOT/DRT), 2 singles (uninjured perps in custody), and 3 walks (crime unsuccessful/perps in the wind). And in the final PA, we have a reached on catcher’s interference (wife turned in perp spouse).

All in all, that’s 5 for 6 with 2 HRs, plus two walks and another time on base. Impressive.

Three “D”s today. What a wonderful way to start the morning.

“And the world is a more peaceful place – beginning now.”

The dead man’s accomplice’s Facebook page appears to be that of a fine, upstanding young man, as expected. I’m guessing that being a rapper didn’t quite cover the cost of all of those Air Jordans.

He was just turning his life around and training for his job helping the blind elderly lepers in a charity hospital.

And in other news: in Chicago, the city that doesn’t work very well, crime in general is on the rise. Break-ins occurring about two blocks from my first apartment, where I used to go out running every night. More shootings w/kill rate increasing every day.

Strange how none of this happened when Richie Daley was da Maire, isn’t it?

STSC(SW/SS)

Because Daley wasn’t PC like “Mom” Emanual.

In incident #1, a police officer discharged his firearm but didn’t hit anyone. Of all who carry, wouldn’t we want to think that police officers would be most proficient? Given that the average room does not exceed 20 ft in length or breadth, I use that as the range of choice for my personal carry weapons. Last night, using my.38 Spl revolver, I put 18 rounds into a 6 inch “Shoot N C” target. While I was pulling to the right for some reason, all 18 rounds were within the 6 inch circle. My daily shooting has to take some of the credit. Proficiency counts.

Frankie Cee "In the clear"

Yes, “Last Night”, shooting in “low light conditions”, and shooting left hand instead of right hand.

OC

I loves all the LE brothers and sisters out there, but I’m telling ya, they do seem to be lousy shots…….

J3

maybe this one was trying to NOT hit, so a crown of Baltimore thugs led by Sharpton didn’t show up to torch his house?
