Wednesday morning feel good stories
61-year-old Lewis Boyd broke a window and forced his way into a Corinth, Mississippi home and confronted an armed homeowner who shot him three times in the chest with a .22 caliber pistol. Mr Boyd was declared DOT (dead over there) at the hospital.
A woman was home alone with her teenage daughter in Savannah, Georgia when two criminals forced their way through the door. When she stood up to greet who she thought was her husband coming home from work, one of the crooks hit her in the face, but she was able to retrieve her shotgun and bust a cap in their direction which convinced them to leave. Her teenage daughter was hiding in the closet. Police are still looking for the pair, if they ever stop running.
Kenda Casey broke into a home in Gulfport, Mississippi and tried to sexually assault the young female that he found there. When the police arrived, they found Casey laying on the floor with the intended victim’s firearm pointed at his head.
In Portland, Indiana, about two years ago, David McLaughlin shot David A. Bailey after McLaughlin caught him fleeing from the scene of a burglary. Baily was hit in his arm, which he claims is still injured as a result. McLaughlin was convicted for shooting the criminal, served 60 days and four months of home detention. Bailey was convicted and sentenced to three years of home detention. Now Bailey wants to sue McLaughlin for “a monetary award in an amount sufficient to compensate (Bailey) for all damages.” So, the lesson is, if they’re not a threat, save your ammo.

61?! That’s definitely old enough to know better. WTH is wrong with these people
I was thinking the same thing. Burgling at 61yo?? WHY??
“A monetary award in an amount sufficient to compensate (Bailey) for all damages.”
Sure shitbag, you are hereby awarded $1 as compensation for damage to your shitbag self. Please spend it on a one-way ticket to shitbagville.
if they’re not a threat, save your ammo.
OTOH, a second shot assures the end of the story.
Not if the bullet holes go back to front, it won’t.
Bailey wouldn’t want me on his jury.
Expend enough ammunition to make sure YOURS is the only story told.
Burgling at 61? Well, doesn’t he have to supplement his IRA and 401(k) things? I guess some people just do not learn.
The Scene: a strip club in a Southeast Alaska fishing town. A whole bunch of local and state police are getting raid to do a drug raid on the place, the bartender is known to sell dope in the club. The cops stack outside the door. Pound on the door, “Police, we are coming in!” The bartender fires a shotgun through the door (last time I was there, the hole was still visible). The cops break in the door and clear the place. There are dozens of people in the club, some complain that they were roughed up. That crowd brings a lawsuit alleging excessive force. The court finds in their favor and grants them $20,000. Not $20k each, $20k in total.
Rumor had it the court thought that the police had the right to be nervous after the barkeep blew a hole in the door.
I’ll just add this to your fish story. You still see “I survived the great hideout raid” bumper stickers around.

Having been stationed at Ft Huachuca three times, I was unfortunate to have missed out on that little party. I was stationed in Hawaii (Schofield Barracks, 25th Dimension) then.
I missed it too. I was in Korea at the time
61 y.o.? Must be early onset Alzheimer’s.
Now he won’t have to suffer from the late stages…
Three in the chest with a .22? Who says a .22 is too small to be effective?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing–and shot placement.
“Now Bailey wants to sue McLaughlin for “a monetary award in an amount sufficient to compensate (Bailey) for all damages.” So, the lesson is, if they’re not a threat, save your ammo.”
Or more range time, concentrating on center mass.
