Tuesday morning feel good stories

| March 8, 2016

43-year-old Irving Francis of Potsdam, New York tried his hand at home invasions the other day and it failed miserably. The homeowner. Nicholas Fiacco, applied a knife and a baseball bat to the situation and the resulting mugshot of Mr Francis is at the link.

In Memphis, Tennessee, another customer loosed off a couple of rounds at an escaping shoplifter. Both of them are in custody.

A police sniper in Rochester, New York took out a gunman who was firing at a SWAT team during a standoff. The gunman was DRT (dead right there).

I was looking for the Pottsdam story but thought it was Watertown so I visited the newspaper there. Watertown sounds like a squared-away place. It charged a councilman with false filing b/c he signed–as witness–petition signatures that his family collected on his behalf. In another story, a fellow has been charged with lying on his naturalization application by saying that he had not committed a crime for which he was NOT arrested. I another locale nearby, police are posting wanted pics on Facebook. That sure beats the old way of doing things. As for the Pottsdam matter, the involved parties knew one another and had an ongoing beef which resulted in a gash or two and hospital visits.

“Some customers said it is sad that they need to arm themselves in order to feel protected, but that is what many are doing.”

Memphis.

What a shithole.

I do not carry to “feel protected”. I carry because I’m a free man. Such feelings will get you killed, it’s called a pistol, not a lucky charm, for this reason.

Well said.

Word. Last time I was through there was the month Elvis died and it was a shithole then.

I drove through Memphis once, never again. Just added it to the list of places I’ll go out of my way to avoid(Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, DC, NYC, and a few more).

The “mugshot” is of the victim, not the perp…who is in serious condition with a piece of steel in his chest.

The victim took a bat to the head, so returned the favor with a knife in the bad guy’s chest. The two kids involved were also arrested.
