Bobbie Glen Davis; secret squirrel taxi driver

| March 2, 2016

Bobbie Glen Davis

Someone sent us their work on this fellow, Bobbie Glen Davis, who is a commissioner on the Board of Montrose County, Colorado Commissioners. For some reason, during a meeting of the board last August, he decided to tell the assemblage that he was some sort of secret squirrel in Vietnam “when only the French and intelligence were there”. He also claimed that he was in Thailand. The implication was that he was some sort of Jason Bourne dude. Here’s the minutes of that meeting and his entirely inappropriate comments;

Davis claims

I don’t know how that proved his patriotism and his support for veterans, but he’s a politician, so there’s no accounting for what he was thinking at the moment.

In his bio at the board’s website, he mumbles something about Top Secret Clearances and how he was on Presidential detail at Bergstrom Air Force base in Austin, Texas;

Bobbie Glen Davis County Commissioner

Well, the National Personnel records Center, doesn’t think that he was in Vietnam or Thailand or in intelligence. They say he was an Air Force taxi driver;

Bobbie Glen Davis FOIA

Bobbie Glen Davis Assignments

He had a perfectly honorable career as a taxi driver in Korea, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas, but not a secret squirrel in Vietnam and Thailand. Who knows maybe the secret code word for Presidential Detail in the Air Force is “Driver’s School Instructor”.

Only the USAF would have a taxi unit. The rest of us had to walk.

Tom Huxton

Does anyone remember the Checker cabs with backseat as big as a bedroom and extra fold-down seats.

David

Ah, the Checker Marathon! Knew a girl who owned one… her father said he was only buying her one car and want to make sure it lasted a looonnnggg time

Tom Huxton

they are banned from demolition derbys, along with the ’65 lincoln.

Sure do, rode in one from El Paso International airport to Ft. Bliss’s Logan Heights Reception Center back in ’84.

Bobo, not me! Iwas artillery!

I live in Montrose. Glad to see the Vietnam Combat Veterans calling this guy out. He refuses to admit to lying and sticks to his ‘top secret’ crap. No manhood here. Bobbie G. covert cab boy?

He looks like an uphill gardener to me.

Hondo

Taxi Driver? Doesn’t look a damn thing like De Niro to me . . . . (smile)

Combat Historian

I’m assuming the “taxi units” referred to on his assignment chit had something to do with airbase flight taxiways and airfield runway operations; or are we really indeed talking about Air Forces versions of the big yellow cab being driven by Elaine Nardo and Reverand Jim ???

Hondo

I think you’re right, but the possibility exists that he really did drive a “taxi” of sorts.

I believe the USAF maintained vehicles for alert crews during that time frame to ferry them to the birds in the event of alerts or operational launches. Not sure if the aircrews drove those, or if the unit/base provided a non-aircrew driver. I’d guess the latter.

Further, until at least the mid/late 1970s some installations still had a military taxi service. It was used to shuttle people around for official duty purposes. This guy served 12 years prior to that, and that type of service may well have been more common then – particularly at airfields/airbases, which tended to have a relatively large number of transient personnel at a given time.

3E9

Alert crews still have designated vehicles, but they drive their own.

Hondo

Thanks. Always wondered about that – and what happened to those alert vehicles after the crew got on the bird and took off.

3E9

Usually they go back to the alert dorms for the backup crew(s) or the next alert crew rotation.
Also the alert routes sometimes have flashing lights that basically shut down the road except for the path to the flight line.

Hondo

OK, now I’m confused. If one of the aircrew drove it to their aircraft, then the crew took off on a mission – how did the vehicle get back to the alert dorm? I guess I’m missing something.

Claw

Non-flying aircraft crew chiefs drove them back to the alert dorm?

Hondo

Could be. Was hoping someone from the USAF could confirm and/or educate.

Claw

Yeah. Where’s ChipNASA at?

I betcha he would be able to give us the lowdown on this.

Or maybe there were designated enlisted drivers on standby at the alert dorm to do the shuttle runs.

USAF_Pride

When the alert went off, you cleared the road. They typically drive 6 packs and had the right of way under all circumstances (like hop the curb and get out of the way, they had some nukes to deliver). Once they were on the alert pad, they were parked out of the way and after the planes taxid, someone would walk out and drive them back to the alert facility. At least that is what was done in SAC.

dennis - not chevy

The Air Force provide(d?) crew busses to take the crew to the aircraft. The driver held the AFSC of 645X0 (these days I think it’s 2T1XX). At one base, the pilot thought it would be ironic fun for him to drive while the driver sat in the seat. The real fun was the pilot never remembered to put the bus in N(eutral) when he parked; providing me the fun of crawling through the snow with a blow torch to melt the ice on the shift cable so the bus could be shifted into N and started. Before anyone thinks there was one bus for each plane – there wasn’t. On this base there was only one airplane, a RC-135.

dennis - not chevy

In regards to my previous comment – the driver (vehicle operator/ dispatcher) would have the AFSC 602X0. A 645X0 was a supply troop. I regret the error. Please take into account I’m on the left coast where we over sleep three hours each day.

ChipNASA

DING DING DING!!
You guys are all correct.
Part of ther Transportation Squadron is to have Base Taxi service for exactly that, official duty for shuttling personnel around the base.
During mobility exercises, the Transportation Squadron would provide buses, crew vans etc and on an ongoing day-to-day basis, the Vehicle Operations folks maintained a base taxi on call service for personnel to be shuttled around the base as needed.

Jarhead

We have never met. However I DO know the individual whom you spoke with earlier today; his name is BONDO. My suggestion is to walk lightly around this individual. Some times he is wwwaaaaay out there and reacts poorly to strangers with ulterior motives. Please allow me to first give you fair warning that you have NOT stumbled into a confused group of minions eagerly waiting for a politician to tell them what they want to hear. A good comparison would be Mr. Rogers walking into the Steeler’s dressing room when they are down by two points with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Totally and completely Out Of Place. Hopefully you know the meaning of the famous “Veni Vidi Vici.” My Latin was never strong to begin with, but if I could write a more appropriate line in Latin, in simple terms it would say, “We are not here to praise you, we are here to out you and expose you”. You are no longer safely rooted in Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood where everyone is happy because everyone tells only the truth about themselves. Your telling of your stories is not unlike the apple that Eve ate…..the warning to NOT was overlooked. However, you tend to incriminate yourself with each sentence, blaming others who are “Out To Get You” by spreading lies about your military service. Prime example of your flawed thinking is evident on the Proceedings of The Board of Montrose County Commissioners dated Aug 17, 2015, in which was stated, “He noted he had also served in Vietnam”. That would imply that you personally told the writer of that month’s “Minutes of Previous Meeting” that you had served in RVN. But let’s give you the benefit of the doubt and say the writer took it upon himself to claim you had actually served in RVN. Printed without your permission would constitute a lie. However, no where in your history or response does it show a correction of facts by you. Another case of people LYING about you? We can go on and on with the obvious… Read more »

Well, okie dokie!

4 years and got booted as an E-2. That’s a shitbag, even by Chair Force standards.

ChipNASA

April 1952 the rank structure was Basic Airman, Airman Third Class, Airman Second Class, Airman First Class (with resultant loss of NCO status that was not restored until 1967), so that being said, I think he may have been an E-3 Basic E-1, Third E-2 and Second E-3. Still shitbag for 4 years.

Airdale (AW) USN

Well said!!!!

A Proud Infidel®™

All that time and he made what, Airman Second Class. That’s what, E2? Either a perpetually mediocre performer or a turbocharged dick-stepper, I wonder which, maybe a combination of the two?

Hondo

E3 when he served, actually. The USAF called the E3 paygrade “Airman Second Class” between 1952 and 1967.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airman_first_class

E3 today is called Airman First Class. The rank “Airman Second Class” no longer exists today – E2 is “Airman” and E4 is “Senior Airman”.

Club Manager

Correct Hondo. However for someone to serve four years in that time period and not reach Airman First Class (E-4) indicates to me he was less than a super trooper. I also recall we had “base taxi’s” because back in those days many of us did not have POV’s and had to get from point A to point B for an official reason.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

That way anyone checking his records thinks he was teaching recruits how not to run each other over on base when he was really helping the princess escape her castle with the assistance of two other DSIs named Mario and Luigi….

“[Davis] noted that he also served in Vietnam in the early 1960s when only the French and intelligence were there and then later in Bangkok, Thailand when the Princess Palace was bombed.”

Well, there you go. He was in vietnam with the French. That will come as news to the French who were long gone by the time Davis claims to have been in Vietnam. And I’m guessing that the Princess Palace was the prince’s palace in Thailand which is not that at all but the Grand Palace, a sprawling place in Bangkok which was not bombed in the 1960s. Other than those couple of things, I see nothing wrong with that quoted line from the minutes. Cripes.

Delilah T

Do you think he knew Dien Bien Phu? I heard she was quite a party girl.

GDContractor

I wonder if Davis was supplying naked pictures of Walter Brennan to the godless commie bastards.

Glen Davis

The statement was “been to vietnam” never stationed in vietnam. But why should you be any different than the veterains here. They want talk or meet either. But they have a political agenda

Hondo

Davis, you appear to be trying to make people believe you were somehow involved in GCB operations in Vietnam – e.g., Combat Skyspot. Unfortunately, info about that program has been declassified and is now widely available.

Combat Skyspot involved installing facilities to support, and supporting, radar-controlled bombing in Vietnam. This operation was indeed supported by 1 CEVG’s RBS detachments; 1 CEVG did in fact had assets supporting SAC at Barksdale. However, planning and testing associated with setting up Combat Skyspot operations in Vietnam wasn’t conducted until 1964-1965 – and the testing was at Matagora Proving Range, which was in CONUS (Texas Gulf Coast, specifically). The first Combat Skyspot site wasn’t deployed to RVN until 1966. See p. 6 of

http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a586292.pdf

You left active duty in January 1965 – or a full year prior to the first Combat Skyspot site being activated in Vietnam.

You might have been peripherally involved in early RBS planning or support of testing – who knows, maybe you drove some equipment used in early testing to/from Barksdale to Matagora Range once. But participated in Combat Skyspot operations in Vietnam? Please. The first Combat Skyspot site didn’t become operational in SEA until late March/early April 1966 – well over a year after you left active duty. There’s no way you were there as a member of the USAF a year after you left active duty.

I ain’t buying that claim without one helluva lot of proof – the dates just don’t line up. And you haven’t shown a damn bit of proof so far.

Z

I am not sure if you should resign because of your fabrications or because judging from your post, you seem to be somewhat illiterate! I have a feeling that you are the one who won’t meet, talk, or apologize!!

Silentium Est Aureum

Okay, Glen. I’ll bite.

When were you there? With what group? Name three people who were there with you who can validate your claims.

No? Didn’t think so.

Jarhead

“Been to vietnam” (sic) vs what the minutes of the previous meeting read, noted at the top of this page; there they go again, lying about you. EVERYONE on this site is DIFFERENT than the VETERAINS (whatever that means) you describe. They all WANT (again, whatever that means) talk or meet either. But they have a political agenda. Nice sentence composition AINSTEIN. Would love to meet you in a spelling bee for big bucks.

Doing nothing probably is better than lying.

Perhaps you, Glen, can explain why you would lie about your military record when it would be easier, and certainly more honorable, to just tell the truth.

Mike Bronner (Herd Doc)

Or lying pieces of shit like YOU who hold a commissioner seat in Montrose where you insult Veterans and make up wild stories about the Congressional Medal of Honor being awarded to an Uncle you claim, that isn’t even YOUR uncle and who was never awarded even a Silver Star. Yep Davis, for a country to go to hell is to have people like you as citizens.

This is a contact to you Glen: Where IN Vietnam were you? What are the dates of your being IN Vietnam? What did you do when IN Vietnam? What unit did you work with when IN Vietnam?
It’s a political matter because a politician (you) has been caught lying in public meetings which I think does not represent ‘honesty in government.
Bonus question:
If you were IN Vietnam were you a Number Ten or a Number One?
You have been contacted.
Waiting for responses…..

Mike Bronner (Herd Doc)

This is NOT local any longer and it certainly is NOT and never was a political matter. It is about a guy who showed scorn and disrespect for Veterans in Montrose County and tried to raise himself up and above all of us at that meeting by lying about his own service and that of his alleged Uncle. Nothing political at all about this. All about a Liar who we as Veterans do not want as our Commissioner.

Did LBJ use Bergstrom when he traveled to and from his ranch? If so numbnuts here MAY have transported a portion of the presidential party (staff, press, etc) to and from the flightline. So in his fevered mind that made him part of the presidential detail. Turd.

LBJ using Bergstrom while POTUS is plausible. It was marginally closer to the LBJ Ranch than the bases in San Antonio, and considerably closer than Gray AAF (formerly Gray AFB) at Hood.

Call and bombard the local newspaper, The Montrose Daily Press. Editor is Paul Wall. Phone number is (970) 249-3444. County personnel are very helpful, but we all know how that works in such a small community. Newspaper Editor is the BEST way to go on this one. Take the time and let him know.

Glen Davis

I am sorry, but did we ever meet? Do you know what is behind this attack? You should be old enough to know not to believe everything you read and hear.

Silentium Est Aureum

You mean like you claiming to be a Vietnam vet?

Marine_7002

Yeah, right. We’re not supposed to believe the documents that the NPRC provided to Jonn that shows you lied about your service.

How much longer are you going to dance around the facts? Remember, the internet is forever…

Glen Davis

As a county commissioner you can say anything you want about me, spread information that is not true and I have to take it. Funny though I was PCS on four different bases in 44 months, my accusers will not meet with me, and people I have never met know what kind of person I am. Anyone want to have a conversation.

Hack Stone

What was written on that paper, “Rosebud”?

Hack Stone

Better than calling you “Brown Rose”.

Ex-PH2

When did you become a county commissioner, Jonn?

Oh, wait — that’s another glenism, isn’t it?

OWB

Well, he WAS a driving instructor on a SAC base. That’s almost like being secret squirrel…

Naw, I can’t even write that with a straight face.

Having been to Bergstrom and a few other places during the time frame, yeah, there were folks who taught other folks to drive well enough to get them certified to drive various pieces of equipment. Everyone had to get those AF driver’s licenses certified by one of the transportation guys. 60-pax busses and such. Don’t remember at this late date just what a civilian DL covered other than pick-up trucks and jeeps. Guys like this had to certify the other stuff except some squadron specific things.

Meanwhile, Davis, I, for one, don’t give a flip about your political woes. I DO care about your apparent embellishment of your service record. If you hadn’t told Jonn conflicting stories, I might have some patience with you. But, since you also lied to him about your service, you have no excuses with me.

Stop lying about your service. The official records show that you served well enough to receive an honorable discharge. That should have been good enough for you. But you decided to crap all over what would otherwise have been a record about which you should have been proud.

Perry Gaskill

I remember getting a military driver’s license while at LZ English. The rigorous training and test consisted of taking a jeep, and driving the motor pool sergeant down to the PX to pick up a six-pack of beer. Such skill meant you were fully qualified to operate a jeep, three-quarter ton, and deuce-and-a-half. The last, apparently, was in case you might need to fetch beer for a battalion…

Marine_7002

WTF does Davis mean (quoting him from his on-line bio) by “Davis has been involved with the Top Secret Military Clearance.”

Doesn’t sound a bit like he ever actually HELD a TS clearance. Involved? Fell in love with one? Had sexual relations with one? How the hell do you become INVOLVED with a TS Clearance?

Marine_7002

Ah, the old “memory failed me” ploy.

Wonder what else about his sorry sordid past that his memory failed him on.

Silentium Est Aureum

Woooo…a Secret clearance. That’s some high speed shit there.

They did my ENTNAC at MEPS and I had mine granted while still in boot camp.

Okay, everyone! Raise your hands if you had a Secret (or above) clearance!

Yup, pretty much everyone.

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Oh, I see it… it’s a political hit job! As vice commissioner for the county, Bobbie Glen Davis has made himself some enemies, including the clerk at the commission meetings. The clerk decided to get back at him for some “slight” to his/her pride and put the embellishing comments in the meeting minutes. He/she also went as far as to change his on-line resume to read that gobblygook that is on line right now.

I find it hard to believe, Bobbie Glen Davis, that this is a “political hit job”. Don’t you and the other commissiners take the time before each meeting and review the previous session’s meeting minutes before approving them (at most local community meetings in my area that is one of the first items of business they do). From Robert’s Rules of Order:

“In some societies the minutes are signed by the president in addition to the secretary, and when published they should always be signed by both officers. If minutes are not habitually approved at the next meeting, then there should be written at the end of the minutes the word “Approved” and the date of the approval, which should be signed by the secretary. They should be entered in good black ink in a wellbound record-book.1″

Either you and your fellow commissioners don’t follow Robert’s rules, you failed to review the meeting minutes before approving them and have made no effort to have them corrected to date or you did make those statements at the meeting in August and approved them.

Looks like you made this mess on your own Bobbie Glen Davis and your catching Hell from people in your community for your lies.

Grunt

This is all on public record. It is on the county’s website, all public meetings are video taped and available to the public.
Go to Montrose CO website there’s a section on BOCC agendas , go to August. 17th the info is at the first of the meeting. You can lie and when it’s video taped you can’t say you didn’t say it. Of course it’s political Davis is an elected official who has a moral obligation to be truthful

2/17 Air Cav

This Davis guy is a pip. He is like the Shell answer man–except that he is highly selective in what questions he chooses to answer. His tactic is a good one, to portray himself as a victim of anonymous attackers who have a political motive and pretend that he is rebutting his accusers while actually saying little of any substance. It’s all very chummy. So, let’s recap. He was never in Vietnam but the minutes of a meeting provide that he said otherwise. He told Jonn that he was never in Vietnam, but then described how he was there. He said in his meeting some quite specific things that no recording secretary would have invented and inserted into the minutes which, of course, must be approved before publication. Those specifics include that he was in Vietnam with the French which, unless they were a couple of pastry chefs, is bullshit. He also said he was in Thailand when the palace was bombed. The problem is that there was no palace bombing. He also claims he was on a presidential detail, suggesting great things, when his duty, if any in actuality, was nothing of the sort. In short, he is a bullshitter and a phony. Next item.

nope, didn’t do that either.

Well, if anyone would like to hear what he actually said, part of what he said in the meeting of the BOCC on 8/17/15 listen to this. Turn the sound up, put on ear phones and enjoy this worthless, haughty, condescending prick spew his vile. I was there, I stood in front of him and saw the body language. Another Vet asked him what his Uncle’s name was who was awarded the CMOH. He was taken aback by the question, I though he was going to pass out. He knew it was a lie when he said it. Then he claimed it was a Silver Star, that he had made a mistake. The name he gave does not have a Silver Star either. Davis was also blasted in the Montrose Daily Press for buying alcohol on a county credit card. His answer for that, “he is color blind and grabbed the wrong card”. Give me a break. Hmm. I’m not a lawyer, but I seem to remember that in general elected officials are considered public figures. That raises the bar for actionable slander or libel considerably.

Short version: unless a public figure can prove both malicious intent and either outright lying or reckless disregard for the truth, I believe that in general they’re SOL regarding a libel or slander suit. And here, SOL isn’t the proper name of the sun in ALL CAPS. (smile)

Considering this guy’s claims and apparent track record of “mis-speaking” followed by “correcting the record” when challenged, proving “reckless disregard” would IMO be exceedingly difficult. If what’s been reported about him here is reasonably accurate, it seems to me a reasonable person would have reason to doubt much if not most everything that he says.

If one of our resident lawyer readers could weigh in that would be much appreciated.

Montrose Combat Veteran

Hondo, you are correct. Under Colorado Defamation Law a public official is considered a “public figure” and they do have considerable differences in proving either Libel or Slander. (written vs verbal). It is nearly impossible for a public figure to win a Defamation lawsuit. They not only have to prove malicious intent, they have to prove actual damages as others do. Statements have to be proven to be untrue and the list goes on. I have seen all the letters Davis has sent to Veterans around Montrose and if ANYONE is guilty of Defamation, Davis is. What you see on the website is only a very small portion of the entire pie. Get this, Davis actually wrote a letter to a great buddy of mine here. He is a former 5th Special Forces guy, Nam. Davis told him in this letter that he hopes he “sleeps well at night”. A subtle hint at danger. Davis is not only a liar, he is completely stupid.

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Looks like Bobbie Glen Davis needs to have some local veterans meet with him at the next county commissioners meeting and in the public comments section let him know how they feel about his SV embellishment and comments towards them.

Bobbie Glen Davis thinks he’s one of the “ruling class”

Rex Keyes

To answer a few Davis comments above in his Email to me. No, you did not make any mistakes, you lied in the board room that day. The Silver Star is another lie. I checked, no Silver Star awarded to that name either. If you weren’t “involved” in the Top Secret clearance, why is that statement still on the Montrose County Website? You wanted a meeting so you could spew more lies. We aren’t biting. We want an apology for your disrespect of Veterans. We want you to resign as a Commissioner, you aren’t worthy. Yes, you did say you were in Vietnam and it was NOT a mistake, it was a fucking lie. From any moment you were never in Vietnam. What exactly do you mean by the statement, “There are several places that I was never there”? Oh, hiding behind that Top Secret Clearance again, I see. So, your country owes you nothing, it was your duty. IN not so many words you are saying that those who do receive VA benefits don’t deserve them, I see. You never talked about your service. Too painful I guess. Driving that taxi must have been brutal at times. I sent Emails to your fellow commissioners alright but I was not QUESTIONING your truthfulness, I already know you are a compulsive, habitual liar. NO, I have not embarrassed you, and neither has any other Veteran, YOU have embarrassed yourself and your family. I don’t have to check with my attorney. I am a retired Attorney and completely competent in Colorado Defamation Law. You have made several statments to Veterans that are actionable in court. If I were you, I would be very careful. I don’t need to make up my mind about you. You are a liar and your official military records compared to your statements prove that. I have no doubts about your Top Secret Clearance. The FBI says you never had one. The only clearance you ever had was to start the taxi. You are pathetic Davis, my advice to you is to make a public apology in Montrose,… Read more »

Rex – awesome words of advice, but I’d bet the farm that Bobbie Glen Davis will continue with his current gameplan of being arrogant and defiant

OWB

Great response! So very glad to see y’all are doing all the right things on this lying valor thief.

The guy could just be a not so bright, functional illiterate – that does not excuse lying. Ever.

Marine_7002

“You have embarrassed me in a public way. Check with your attorney as to the legal possibilities on that.”

Oh, now he finally plays the “lawer” card. What took him so long? How many times have we heard that empty worthless threat?

News flash for you, Glen Davis. You lied and you got caught. Good luck erasing all those shitstains from your record.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

I believe that Bobbie-Boi embarrassed himself in public.
Others were just exercising their rights by steering him towards the truth.

Screw him.

Montrose Combat Veteran

My father taught me to always apologize if proven wrong, on anything. Davis is not only wrong, he has blatantly lied. He lied to make himself look superior on the day of the meeting on 8/17/15. He will never apologize to Veterans of Montrose because it takes a MAN to apologize and Davis is NOT a man. It is time his entire family is told of his lies. I will make that happen. I was there, I listened to him and he is one pathetic excuse for a human being. All of what he has said is NOT on this site, only a small portion. He accused a good buddy of mine, a former MACV-SOG team leader, Vietnam, of being mentally unstable. He told him in a letter that he had “no respect for his service, if he even served at all”. Several other very demeaning things were spewed by his arrogant mouth. I hope everyone on this site will pass on all of this to other internet sites. Davis Motorsports in Montrose should also be informed of his lies.

Glen Davis
To Rex Keyes
Jan 8 at 1:14 PM
Thank You Mr. Keyes, I appreciate your comments. I will not be reaching out to Mr. /////// for all of this could have been avoided. Had he reached out to me for information before he started checking my military records. I believe I could have satisfied his curiosity. As far as me embarrassing myself I did not make the statements he did. You are a military man and you know how the military works. Ask yourself why an E3 pay slot was in Korea for 13 months(the length of the tour) never stayed on a base (3 of them) longer than 11 months an what was happening at that time in this country? In additional going from the Tactical Air Command (TAC) to Strategical Air Command (SAC)? Check with some veterans and you will find that changing of commands in the Military is almost unheard of, and that an E3 pay slot may see two bases in a four year period, but four PCS changes? You do have enough of my military records to know that I was at Osan,Korea, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, Bergstrom AFB, Texas. You now know, I am sure Commissioner Henderson passed it along, that I did have a secret clearance. For over 51 years I never made a statement about where or what I did in the military other than I served on Presidents Johnson’s detail out of Bergstrom AFB, Texas. I signed a piece of paper when I left the service stating I would not talk about where and what. So I made a mistake, will not happen again, and I was never in Vietnam, Bankoc or lots of other places. You Vietnam Vets are all whiny babies. Get over it, really it wasn’t even a war.

HMCS(FMF) ret.

WOW… and he just can’t seem to shut his cockholster up!

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Rex – you should forward his e-mails to the local paper and the local GOP party (he’s a Republican) to see what they think about him and his prima donna attitude.

Montrose Combat Veteran

I believe someone is actually doing just that. Also to the Sheriff who is a Nam Vet.

Hondo

In an email, Davis allegedly wrote:
You Vietnam Vets are all whiny babies. Get over it, really it wasn’t even a war.

Davis, if that’s how you really feel, why don’t you go to the National Mall in DC – to to a place called informally “the Wall”. There you can publicly tell the soul of everyone listed that they were “whiny babies” and that “it wasn’t even a war”.

Go there – and tell that to each of the 58,220 souls whose names appear on that wall.

“It wasn’t even a war” my ass.

OWB

Not something he should have said to himself much less out loud and he published it in a letter?

This clown is not at all bright.

To all the local vets near this guy: No doubt you are more than capable of handling this mess correctly, but be assured that there are some retired USAF vets out here who have your backs with this fool.

Eden

And some USAF vets who didn’t stay for 20.

Grunt

I saw the email. It’s verifiable and not alleged.
It wasn’t a war !!!!!
I think of the friends I lost and this asshole says it wasn’t a war.

Hondo

Not doubting that, Grunt – just being precise. I haven’t personally received or seen the original email, so I can’t say from personal knowledge that Davis wrote that.

However, those who have seen the original document can say with certainty that Davis indeed wrote that. And they should make it very clear to others what Davis wrote. In fact, they should make the fact he wrote that known to every voter in the county.

Hack Stone

Four Permanent Changes of Station in four years? In the Marine Corps, we call that “passing the trash”. He probably stiffed the soda mess at each command when he left.

My experience in the Navy was that a shitbird on shore duty could almost be guaranteed a transfer to sea duty after a fuckup. Saw it happen several times. Some (unfortunately) had spouse and children. You couldn’t imagine the immediate improvement in attitude when threatened with discharge or sea duty.

Lee Burkins

Your cowardly show of contempt for the brave combat soldiers who sacrificed their lives, so your twisted ego could have a job as an elected official is beyond human decency. Your family, friends, associates and business connections will scorn you in the near future. All because you hadn’t the courage to apologize for lying.
De Oppresso Liber

Mike Bronner (Herd Doc)

I totally agree with Lee Burkins. I was one of the vets that stood before him that day on 8/17/15. I watched his eyes, his actions. He rattled off the statement that he had an Uncle that “got” the Congressional Medal of Honor in WW2, “and he never talked about it”. He was telling us that we Nam Vets are a bunch of whiners, hell, he stated that in a letter to another Veteran. He made that statement in an effort to elevate himself above all of us standing there on that day. Among other statements. His ego is writing checks his ass can’t cash. His statement that he was in Vietnam while we were all in High School was another attempt to elevate himself, when in fact he was simply an E-2 taxi driver. Imagine what he has told other people in private. He is a disgusting, condescending, egotistical prick with a major inferiority complex. I too will do all in my power to have him recalled from office. He borders on being illiterate and according to the Montrose Daily Press he has misused county credit cards. As a taxpayer in this county I don’t want him representing me and having control over my tax money. The statement he made concerning an Uncle with the Medal of Honor was not in the meeting minutes, however, that statement does remain on the live stream video of that county meeting.

TAC, AFLC, PACAF, AFSC, ATC, AAC, ATC again, and finally AMC.
I know most of them don’t exist anymore and ATC is now AETC. I hope none of my screw-ups caused those in charge to eliminate the commands and start all over again.
In two of the Transportation Squadrons to which I was assigned, I was the training manager. I am quite familiar with the duties performed by AFSCs 601XX, 602XX, and 472XX. This guy needs to stop with the lies.

Montrose Combat Veteran

Well, there will soon be more on here about Davis the mystery man. In a County Commissioner meeting on June 6, 2016 he denied a Veteran the right to speak during the public forum where citizens are allowed to speak for 3 minutes about anything they choose. This Veteran was stopped by Davis in 30 seconds because that Veteran was pointing out the lies Davis has continued to spew to the public about being a Top Secret Agent. He stated his records could not be “had” because the DOD won’t declassify his missions of the early sixties. He also stated during this public meeting that he was ONLY 12 years old when his Uncle, who won the CMOH came home from the war (WW2)and that is the reason he can’t remember the details. Well, ole Bobby Glen Davis was born in 1941. If he was 12 years old when his Uncle, (who he previously said was a relative on his wifes side of the family)came home from the war, that would make it 1953 when his pretenda Uncle came home from WW2. I wonder why he waited 8 years to come home. Anyway, Glen is continuing to lie to the public about his military service and claiming the secret clearance excuse. Oh, he also stated on June 6, in public at the meeting that “you Veterans can’t prove I was NOT in Vietnam, I can’t prove I was”……….Incredible…..The guy absolutely is digging in and becoming extremely defiant, increasing his threats and disrespect to Veterans in Montrose, Colorado. He also changed his Bio on the County Website. It now says he had a Top Secret Clearance as opposed to what it said about a month ago and beyond. There also is no record he ever attended the University of Texas at Austin as his bio claims. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t but we can find no record of him ever being there. Perhaps Emails to GDavis@Montrosecounty.net or Rhenderson@montrosecounty.net or dwhite@montrosecounty.net. These are the three county commissioners for Montrose, Colorado.

A Proud Infidel®™

I wonder if he’ll go Bernath after being called out on his shit for long enough? At least he doesn’t claim to be a former CPO as well.

We (small group of Vets) are doing our best to get the word out on Davis. So far the local paper has not said a word even though given all the facts and claims. However, I think we are making progress on that front. John is correct, this POS will take his lies to the grave, but hopefully, at the very least, we will be able to stop him from being re-elected in two years with a fierce campaign against him, exposing his lies all over this county of Montrose. More than the lies and claims, it is his total defiance and attitude toward the vets that are calling him out. We WILL nail his ass for the disrespect he has shown. Hell, we are a bunch of old fokkurs with nothing better to do and too many memories to forget.

Can you imagine telling a former 5th SF team leader with MACV-SOG that he hopes he “sleeps well at night” and saying to this same person in another letter, “it must be hard for you to have a peaceful life” and again, “I want you to come to my office so I can evaluate your mental condition” and, “nothing has ever made me madder than YOU questioning my military service”, several others also. Davis is not only ignorant but insane. He has threatened two veterans with a “deformation lawsuit”, his spelling not mine. I understand Defamation law quite well and how it relates to private individuals vs public officials/figures. The guy is nuts.

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Bobbie Glen Davis still running his cake hole and threatening people… the heat must be on his lying ass! Must be hard being a “combat taxi driver”, huh Bobbie Glen? Guess your fellow vets in Montrose County are tired of your lying bullshit stories about being a top sekrit skwirrl agent in Vietnam.

OK, here is a funny one for you. Couple months ago there was a piece in the Montrose Daily Press about how Davis and the County Attorney had both been caught using County Credit Cards for personal purchases. Davis had used his at a liquor store. When asked why he did that, his reply was that it was a mistake, he grabbed the wrong card out of his wallet because he is color blind. I am not kidding, that is what he said. The guy is a habitual liar, has no integrity, is dishonest and attempts to use more lies to cover previous lies. He owns a business in Montrose called “Davis Motorsports”. Perhaps the word needs to get to that business by some Veterans other than just local veterans. Help ??? http://www.davisservicecenter.com/
