Monday morning feel good stories
In Baltimore, Maryland, 24-year-old Randy Thomas was enriching himself, and his unnamed partner, by robbing patrons in a bar. When the bartender said that he was going to call police, Thomas reached in his pocket. The bartender shot Thomas who then left the bar and walked to the hospital alone. There is no word on his condition, and his partner is in the wind.
In Jacksonville, Florida, two men approached a pizza-delivery guy and demanded his money. Instead, the pizza guy shot one of the thieves who is in the hospital with serious injuries and his partner is in the wind.

I hope that the pizza guy gets to keep his job.
Bars & pizza. Now I’m hungry. A little too early for the beer, but I have left over pizza in the fridge.
No DRT or DOT. oh well. I’m sure there are some somewhere.
Baltimore? I thought it was NGA. Hmmm… it does appear that the nogunz shogunz are either losing ground or don’t understand self-defense techniques.
I hope the pizza guy gets to keep his job, too.
In the wind must mean ‘vanished like a –‘.
There was a black bear hunt in Florida over the weekend. Several hundred were culled from the booming bear population. Protesters are upset. They are very upset. I am waiting for this to appear: #BlackBears’LivesMatter
And in other tree-hugger news, a boat carrying whale watchers capsized in Canadian waters yesterday. Calm down. It’s okay. The whales are fine. Only people died.
YES!! There IS karmic justice in the universe.
Thank you, 2/17, for that good news.
If only they had been a pod of Orcas, when in their territorial frame of mind. Whale watchers being bounced out of the water like chew toys then taken for a ride to 500 meters for shits and giggles. It just doesn’t get better than that folks. I’m talking, America’s Funniest Home Videos winner.
I saw 2 bears crossing the farm yesterday, 1 was grown, 1 was 2/3rds grown. but didn’t have a permit. My dogs nearly ate the fence, trying to run them off. I was ready with large caliber protection in case they had turned back to confront the dogs.
I just read this on a local news dot com site:
“BAY COUNTY, Fla.
After barely two days open, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has officially ended the bear hunting season.
The East Panhandle and Central Bear Management Unit’s were closed for the season Sunday morning, but by that night the other two, North and South, were closed as well.
The season began Saturday and was set to last seven days or until the quota of 320 bears was met.
The FWC released Sunday night that state-wide 295 bears were harvested, 112 of which came from our area.
This is the first time Florida has opened a bear hunting season in more than two decades and FWC officials say that is one of the factors in why the bear hunt was so successful.
“The weather has been perfect here in Florida, that’s a key factor in hunter success where ever you are. We have bears that haven’t been hunted in 21-plus years here in Florida so they are relatively naive. I also think we have hunters that went out and did a lot of scouting and were ready and we had a lot of hunters sign up,” said Dr. Thomas Eason, Habitat & Species Conservation Director.
FWC officials say they have only reported two illegally harvested bears that were under the required 100 lbs.”
“two illegally harvested bears that were under the required 100 lbs.” Yeah, that can be rough. I have tried and tried to get a bear on a scale before shooting it but not one has ever complied. That’s why I always carry a backpack full of rocks and a three-foot ramrod.
I gotz me a t-shirt with a black lab on it.
It says “Black Labs Matter”
I’m a little late reading the TAH morning news this morning. I woke up, hearing a nice breeze, at 0430 hrs. I took the opportunity to get some pre-dawn practice doing “Shoot/Don’t Shoot” exercises with both handgun and rifle. Love those barrel clamped lights, and the breeze that kept my moving targets going from good guy to bad guy. Shot 34 rounds, missed once, and made all good shots, not killing any innocents. Good drill to use in case the robbers should come at me in town, or, come over the fence like a drugged up, drunk, Qweefer.
Would love to do those drills on my 80’X100″ suburban property.
I’d certainly be a be hit with my old job-mates as they respond to a “shots fired” assignment!
I’ll wait for whitetail season in a couple of weeks.
Some people just have no sense of humor do they?
White tail hunting on an 80′ X 100′ suburban property? LOL Fortunately I am on 40 very private fenced acres, behind an electronic gate. I have a 150 yd, down slope range, that ends at a steep hill. Just right for the daily shooting that I do.
