Saturday morning feel good stories

| September 12, 2015

In Dayton, Ohio, a woman heard someone breaking into her house, she called 9-1-1 and waited more than an hour (63 minutes to be exact) for police to arrive while she was locked in her closet with her handgun. She ended up shooting and killing 22-year-old Debrandon Dickerson from Detroit, Michigan. He was DRT.

In Gregg County, Texas, 60-year-old Keith Weaver heard heard his dogs “a-barkin'” and went to check on them. He found a man standing in his house and two of his doors kicked in, so Keith took off after the man as he un-assed the AO, firing his gun as he chased the two men he saw running about a quarter of a mile down the road. He doesn’t think he hit either of them, but I’m pretty sure they won’t be back.

marksmanship under pressure is a practical skill indeed.

Note: The Detroit story actually happened in Dayton, OH. (It’s early. Not being picky.)

So, it appears that Dayton, OH, is worse on response time than Chicago. I wonder what the response time would have been if the lady’s house had been on fire.

When seconds count and the police are a hour away.

63 minutes to respond?

Of course…because when seconds count…

I’m glad the lady in the first story was armed, and a DRT, good girl.

I would think after 63 minutes that she had more then her right to take the law in her own hand, “Good girl” case closed.

My bet is that Debrandon’s mama sues the city cops for not protecting her little boy from the big bad homeowner. He was about to enroll in college to become a Rocket Surgeon and his three babymamas were counting on his help with his children.
