SGT Joseph Kimsey charged in Ashley Melnyczok’s murder

| July 17, 2015

joseph-kimsey

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that a Fort Carson soldier, Joseph Kimsey was arrested in regards to the death of a Colorado Springs woman, Ashley Melnyczok. Brainiac Kimsey was driving around in her Silverado. He was AWOL from the Army at the time. Ms. Melnyczok’s body was found in an apartment early last month and another man was arrested for her death on June 4th.

Kimsey was already in jail when he was arrested earlier this week. But, what is most interesting is the last paragraph of the article;

Kimsey also had some troubles with the Army before he went AWOL.

In a statement last week by Fort Carson officials, Kimsey was “found guilty by his commander of wearing unauthorized military awards, badges or decorations.” He was punished for his acts, the statement said.

So, it’s an extreme example, but these folks who lie about their military service are criminals through and through. Prosecutors should look more closely at these cases.

So; an NCO shitbag? If found guilty; fry his ass.

Hopefully they can make a capital case out of this. It’s WAY past time that the military started invoking the death penalty in these sorts of situations.

Hondo

Agreed. But IMO there’s a fair chance it will be CO vice the Army that does so.

Just an Old Dog

He is in the hands of Civil Authorities not in military custody.
Generally speaking crimes have to happen on base in order for the military to have juristiction.

Just an Old Dog

The military doesnt have a very good history of executing criminals. I dont think they have executed any turds since the 1960s.
There are about a dozen pieces of shit on Leavenworth’s death row now, lots of then have been there 20-30 years.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

I guess I’m glad he’s a fucking moron and didn’t think driving a dead woman’s truck would arouse suspicion…people like this need to be terminated quickly before they waste any more of our time or resources on their parasitic asses.

Ex-PH2

It’s about damned time.

Not only was he dumb enough to be driving the victim’s vehicle, but he did it in Canon City, which is where the Colorado State Prison is.

So, he didn’t have far to go to get to his new home.

I’ve driven past there a bunch of times.

At night, it can be seen from a long way off, because the whole side of a mountain is lit up by the reflection of perimeter lights.

It’s at the entrance to the canyon going over Monarch Pass.

CLAW131

Well, if you’ve driven past there a bunch of times you should really know that Monarch Pass is roughly 80 miles yet to to the west of Canon City.

And if you’re referring to the old Territorial Prison on the west side of Canon City, you should also know that it has been shut down for a good many years and is nothing more than a tourist attraction now. All activities have been transferred to the big seven area complex east of Canon City out there on the prairie between CC and Penrose, so no lighting up the whole side of a mountain occurs.

Welcome to the 21st Century.

John Robert Mallernee

Well, it has been a bunch of years since the last time I drove that route.

One memorable part of that scenic highway is that swinging bridge over the Rio Grande, where you can watch that Durango and Silverton steam locomotive passenger train on the tracks far below.

I remember lots of signs along that road warning of what to do in a flash flood.

CLAW131

Well, there you go again posting bogus information.

You are trying to describe the Royal Gorge which is not directly on Highway US50.

It is not the Rio Grande River, but the Arkansas River.

The Durango & Silverton narrow guage railway is 250 miles west of Royal Gorge/Canon City. The only railroads that ever ran under the Royal Gorge Bridge were the AT&SF and the D&RGW. The daily excursion train has now been operated by the Royal Gorge Railroad for many, many years.

John Robert Mallernee

Why do guys throw their lives away doing stuff like that?

Green Thumb

Scumbag.

I hope he gets what he has got coming.

Dudes so it honorably everyday and turds like this give us all a bad name.

PTSD defense in 3…2….1….

Jarhead

The only way this type of defense will ever stop is by having the following: When a current or former military defendant uses PTSD as a defense, allow the jury to be made up ONLY of PTSD rated jurors. One or two of this type cases and that’s the LAST defense they would ever want to consider. That’s a FACT Jack.

Just Me

This is such a horrible situation. I know him and unfortunately this seed was rooted deep before he ever joined the military. I pray for his soul everyday. He did experience some rough stuff overseas.. but he made a choice when he got back. A terrible one that involved the loss of someones daughter. I cannot imagine what her family is going through. My prayers are also with her family. May they find peace if possible.

Interesting that he’s an E-5 after receiving his field grade…makes me wonder if “Joe Bag of Dirt” made it to E-6 before.

Are you suggesting a Hymn? Sort of a “Fuck Hymn?

My voice is a little out of tune
But I’m on board

Reaperman

So ‘another man’ was arrested earlier for the murder? Damn, that guy really lucked out. Usually the police totally stop looking after they’ve pinned it on somebody. Then he has to pay a fortune for his defense, lose anyway, and spend a bunch of time in prison with no chance of a normal life once he gets out.

Winding up like that is actually one of my greatest fears.

Roger in Republic

It’s pretty easy to avoid that kind of trouble, Reaperman. Don’t hang out with dopers or shady people. It is hard to predict which one of your associates will be murdered, but I’d bet you have one or two whose murder would not surprise you. We all have sketchy people in our lives, but the trick is to never become so close to them that the cops automatically put you in their intimate circle. Avoid people who can bring your name to the attention of the cops. Simple. Oh, and the other guy may have been involved in the murder in some way. For all we know, he may be the actual killer. Lt Kenda will straighten it out.

DaveP.

Odds are much better that the original arrestee was the deceased’s (ex-) husband or (ex-) boyfriend. In cases of violence against women where the perp isn’t originally known, the police pretty much automatically consider whatever man is in the victim’s life as Suspect #1 until proved otherwise. No shady connections required.

UpNorth

Actually, Kimsey is the ex-boyfriend of the deceased. There was also a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for an assault on the victim, the article wasn’t clear, but probably an assault prior to the murder. Which may explain why he chose to murder her.

Kimsey was also wanted on other warrants “for failure to appear in court on numerous charges, including fraud, vehicle theft, dangerous drugs and several traffic violations”, according to the Denver Post. They also reported about the other arrest, “As the investigation continued, information was developed that a second suspect, (Kimsey), was present and participated in the murder of Ms. Melnyczok” police said in a news release. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_28488271/colorado-springs-police-arrest-awol-fort-carson-soldier

Bobo

Funny, Hillary’s past is littered with folks who’ve had a mysterious passing. I’m wondering who she’s hanging out with whose a doper or shady.

Roger in Republic

I don’t know about the doper part, but pretty much all of the people in her circle are shady.

Her Brother-in-Law, Roger Clinton did a stretch on a cocaine rap. Of course, she has some black sheep on her side of the family, too.

And some call people like us paranoid for being able to think outside the box. If only it weren’t for those people following me.

Roger in Republic

It looks like Lt. Kenda got his man, again.

Reb

Someone else got arrested. It’s called close this case in 48 Hours. A great detective in doing a investigation checks and double checks. Whoever arrested the innocent fella is going to cost the city bucks. Just as STUPID AS DETECTIVE ROBERT WICK!

UpNorth

Both of them are charged in the murder. At least for now.

She was my ex and an escort. She got mixed up in hard drugs and the wrong men. Also showed major examples of bi polar tendencies. But, I would never wish death on her. Her escort name was Lovely Nicole. She was an amazing person and hid her addictions flawlessly. She was very physically abusive and very taunting. Her beauty was out of this world and when she was in a great mood she was the most caring loving person. Her lifestyle lead her to that moment. I wish I could have stayed with her so none of this would have ever happened. I hadn’t seen her in a year and it’s horrible to hear about her murder knowing I can never say goodbye.

Jojo bleu

I was super close to ash. She lived with me awhile ago. I threw up when I heard what happened. I was in prison for two years and got I it last week. The first letters I sent where to my homies in the joint. With those two ducks names. There time won’t be easy. R.I.p. I love you lil ash.

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

Dear Jojo,

Sorry for your loss.

However, your comment above regarding providing info to your hommies in the joint with respect to the accused probably would not go over well with your PO. I assume that you are some level of probation. In addition, this site is not a good site to post serious ill will wishes on. It is not tolerated.

Again, sorry for your loss.

What’s sad is this shitbird was on my Fire Team my last deployment……I was his teamleader!! He never struck me as the kind of guy to do something like murder 1 but I always felt that something was off about him.
