Taliban assaults Afghan Parliament

| June 22, 2015

Reuters reports that the Taliban assaulted the Afghan Parliament today using suicide bombers and a car bomb, you know, the way they usually assault stuff. No one was injured except some civilians who happened to be in the area – a woman and her child were killed and thirty others were injured – again typically Taliban. The Afghan defenders report that they eliminated the six Taliban fighters who hadn’t blow themselves up.

Fox News says that the Taliban has stepped up their attacks because ISIS threatens to be a political force in that place;

Fox News National Security Analyst KT McFarland spoke to John Hannah and Benjamin Collins about Afghanistan’s security situation.

Hannah, a senior counselor with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, sees similarities in the attack to tactics used by ISIS in the Middle East.

“They are looking at a U.S. drawdown significantly. They think that they might be able to re-create what ISIS has done in Iraq,” he said. This attack “is very much the Taliban putting down their marker and they are on the offensive elsewhere in Afghanistan, picking up territory – the Taliban is back.”

But, yeah, this war against terror or contingency operation or whatever the Hell it is called these days seems to be going swimmingly.

But, you should watch steel-spined fellow of the Afghan parliament when the bomb went off. He hardly flinched;

His giant balls were resting on the chair.

Yeah, being cooled by the ice-water running through his veins.

I wish I could get that translation….

BOOM!!!! *dust and debris*…
“Guys…Uh, Guys….Hey….I’m talking here…Yo, guys…over here….(is this thing even on?)….GUYS.. Chill Out. “

Doc Savage

I don’t think he was sitting on a chair…..I think he was sitting on those big brass clankers he calls balls.

That some pretty calm man steel there.

“Hey, guys, I’m talking here.” That was very funny Chip. There are videos that show a wider shot of him and the dust and debris are more obvious. You can gear a woman scream and folks are seen running, but the chairman of the board? Nothing. Probably more pissed about dirt in his water glass than anything else.

I think I have an audio problem. All I heard was Big Ben striking noon.

Even if he’d have gotten blown away, the only thing left would have been his balls of solid brass.

No one is surprised right? What Afghan united nationalist presence has stepped up to fill the vacuum the Taliban left when defeated?

ISIS or Taliban, one of them will gain power in Afghanistan because they don’t much care how the locals feel about being occupied…they’re not at all worried about the native Afghans fighting back because they really haven’t to this point in their history and neither of those organizations has any qualms about killing entire villages of people to spread their message of peace through Allah…

Not us though, we get all worried about some innocent fundamentalist from a stone age tribe getting him or herself killed for being to close to a strike zone so we’ll get some Americans killed instead to achieve some goal that’s never been articulated by any administration in the last 14 years.

Thank you. No more American lives until the leadership in this country, first, actually appears on the scene and then, establishes real, WWII style, the gloves are completely off, rules of engagement. That is the only way we or any nation engaged against terrorism will ever make a dent in and give pause to these animals. Currently, all our “lack-of-leadership” wants is for everyone to hold hands and share a Coke. That is not going to deter this kind of enemy.

The Taliban wasn’t defeated. They took a page from the Ho Chi Minh playbook, a diagram from the Al Qaeda playbook, and they’re waiting to download the .pdf from ISIS. They’re patient and know full well that the American public will grow tired and we’ll leave. I’ve seen this movie before. All I can do now is echo what I heard from the Viet Nam vets I knew in my younger days;

We were winning when I left.

ISIS vs Tallywhacker? Get them off to the side, move all third party (civilians) out of the way and let them have at each other, no holds barred (short of chem, bio or nukes).

Hell, I’d even pay good bucks on PPV to watch that. Just pull up the La-Z-Boy, pop the popcorn and the beer can tab. All set to watch some fun.

Sounds like a win-win for anyone NOT Tallywhacker or ISIS to me.
