Phillip Ryman/Phillip Price; phony SEAL, Beirut vet
Scotty sends us his work on this Phillip Ryman fellow (whose name was Phillip Price when he was in the Navy). He claims that he was a Navy SEAL and that he’d been at the Beirut bombing in October, 1983 buried under the rubble of the bombed barracks;
And he was well-decorated for his tribulations;
But the Navy says that he served for less than two months, four years after the Beirut bombing. I’d link up his Facebook page, but it fell quicker than the barracks when Scotty linked him up.
It looks like he didn’t even make it to Great Lakes for boot camp – he spent 51 days on the Delayed Entry program and they booted him at the reception station.
Category: Phony soldiers
I did a little of the background work on this guy. It really wasn’t too hard to find out the details. He claimed to have been under the rubble of the Beirut Marine barracks for some 38 hours. Well, the last living person pulled out of the rubble was pulled out the same day the bomb went off, and he was a Navy Chaplain.
I’ve been waiting a couple of weeks for the FOIA to come through. So glad to see he’s now going to learn what fame is all about.
Thank you mark. I thought at first this was some kind of Aprils Fools Day Joke.
But with these clowns every day is April fools day…
Kinda jumped out at me, but wasn’t lt Michael Murphy one of the casualties of op red wings? This POS tries to claim ties to him?!
Michael Murphy, USN was awarded MoH. Murphy gave his life knowing that his final act as a teammate might save his remaining 3 men. His last calm words to controller on SAT cell phone while he raised the alarm and requested assistance was, “thank you”.
It is beleived that during the call he was already wounded and confirmed during call he was taking rounds.
Only 1 man made it out alive, with the grace of God. SO1 Marcus Lutrell, USN (Ret.) Was awarded the NC.
The QRF sent to rescue crashed killing all.
It was a bad day for us in NSW and for our country.
This piece of shit knows nothing!
Hard to see in the rack picture .. but is that a Bronze that I see in the middle of a 6-row?
Also – the girth on that dude looks a bit high-drag.
His BSM isn’t too far away from his Silver Star, which he put on the bottom row. Honestly, if you never made it out of DEP, there are tools on line that will tell you how to place your fake medals. At least do a little research so there is some challenge for us.
Also he has TWO Combat Action Ribbons. Both Backwards. *Facepalm* It’s simple fakers… B comes before R in the alphabet so blue comes before red on your CAR. (Thanks Gunny Hengal!)
And two Navy Expeditionary Medals. I just noticed that. I guess that he didn’t know if he should get small stars, big stars, or oak leaves for the ribbons, so he just decided to wear more than one.
Is that (2nd row inboard) a Navy Cross?
If so, the gloves are off !!
Claw, if you’re talking 2nd row from the bottom – sure looks like it to me.
Yep, second row up from the bottom, far left (inboard) ribbon.
Are you impressed that an old Army guy like me used a Naval term? /smile
I’m proud of you, Claw! Go Army!
A close friend of mine is a Navy Cross Recipient, he does not it when poser wear the Navy Cross!
His highest ranking award (by his rack set-up) looks to be the Navy Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (Reserve Good Conduct).
Seems legit…
It looks as if he has his Kuwait Liberation ribbon upside down, and on the bottom row of the rack he has, flanking his Silver Star, a JROTC ribbon (inboard) and a Civil Air Patrol National Commander’s Unit Citation ribbon (outboard).
(Do I have the reference right – inboard and outboard?)
He may not be a US Navy SEAL, but he most certainly is a US Navy WALRUS!
Master Blaster – looks like the dude swallowed a walrus… never seen a SEAL look that fat before.
As for Phil… yup, he’s the real deal… must have taken that sooper sekrit online correspondence course to be a SEAL offered by the Evelyn Woodhead School of Speed Reading, since he completed it in 50 days!
Phil you are a fucking walking, talking soup sandwich… and claiming to be a Beirut survivor on top of that. I hope some who did serve and survive have a chance meeting with Phil the Mangina…
This site needs an up-vote
I have to agree with you!!
I hope he comes here to read this:
Listen up punk, you do not know the Murphy family … I do!
You were not at the commissioning of the USS MICHAEL MURPHY, I was.
However, you are going to be very famous now, I promise you that!
I certainly hope that this article wasn’t referencing this douchcanoe.

Camp Lejeune marks 26th anniversary of Beirut bombing
Posted October 23, 2009
CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Marines at Camp Lejeune will hold a remembrance ceremony to honor the more than 250 American servicemen killed when two truck bombs struck the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983.
The ceremony Friday at the Beirut Memorial near Camp Lejeune will be followed by a wreath laying and a private candlelight service.
Lt. Commander Phillip Ryman, who survived the bombing, planned to meet with fellow Marines who also survived the attack. Ryman said the ceremony allows them to catch up and reminisce over a good meal and, most importantly, thank God they lived.
The Marines were part of an international peacekeeping force in Lebanon. More than 200 Marines were killed in the attack, the corps deadliest single-day since the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Looks like it may be. Assuming that this Phillip Ryman is the same, he mentions this annual event in a FB comment:
“Phillip Ryman I will be happy to pass that along to the families of the deceased this October , when we have our annual get together at the Beirut memorial , at Camp Lejuene , N.C. !!….I guess I understand why it doesn”t matter to you , because you obviuosly were not there , but do you remember 9-11 ??”

(This comment is buried, you will have to click “View Previous Comments” to find it. I used Ctrl-F to find his name.)
Addendum: I did a Google search for Phillip Ryman Beiruit, and found several instances of him spouting off about being in Beirut – as far back as 2002.
Good news: his TAH entry is the top result! 🙂
https://www.google.com/search?q=phillip+ryman+beirut&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
“Phillip Ryman/Phillip Price; phony SEAL, Beirut vet” is indeed the top search result.
Bless his heart. He’ll want to change his name again.
That is, indeed, the very same guy.
That diver badge looks kinda like the Army’s.
It’s April fools. But this nut is a fool eat up ribbons Lol……….. Sapper3307. you are right it’s army all the way lol… The bottom of his ribbon rack makes me sick he should have spent the extra 5 bucks and gotten a better rack Lol
The whole damn thing is Shit… Lol..I guess if you are going to lie lie BIG
As soon as I saw the placement precedence of the Silver Star I said…Legit. Only the real deals do that!
I wonder if there are TWO Philip Rymans posting about Beruit
https://www.facebook.com/musiccityusa/posts/128321217208545
Phillip Ryman – I survived Beirut in 83″ because of those bastards !!…If it is such a peaceful religion , WHY haven”t the so- called good muslims held the bad ones accountable ??…Piss on a muslim !!…I say that along for my 248 buddies who died at the barracks on 10-23-83 !!
Phillip Ryman – I will be happy to pass that along to the families of the deceased this October , when we have our annual get together at the Beirut memorial , at Camp Lejuene , N.C. !!….I guess I understand why it doesn”t matter to you , because you obviuosly were not there , but do you remember 9-11 ??

Veterans attending the ceremony appreciated the “thank you” Dean and others offered them.
“I was in Beirut October 23, of ’83. I think this is a healing for me,” said Phillip Ryman.
https://www.facebook.com/ABC11/posts/10152904219227550
Phillip Ryman I felt bad bad back on 10-23-83……Beirut , NEVER FORGET !!….senseless killings !!
I am looking into it. Name does not ring a bell. I will find out. Thankx for the info.
Shit, this guy’s legit…I saw him in action in a TV documentary about SEALs operating in Beirut. He was operating with a SEAL who really looked like Charlie Sheen, and another SEAL who really looked like Michael Biehn…
Wait a sec…..perhaps my eyes are getting a bit old, but is that an MFO ribbon on the top row on the right side??
Above the BSM?
Inquiring minds want to know….
Boot camp?
Man, everybody knows members of SEAL team 10 don’t go to boot camp!
They’re the ones recruited right out of high school gyms and video arcades, aren’t they? Wasn’t there a “Psychic SEAL Team Nine” mentioned by another poser now in a PMITA Prison?
SEAL team 10… masters of the anal buttsekks warfare…
Actually, SEAL Team 10 was the group involved in Operation Red Wings.
And having met Senior Chief Healey’s mother, guys like this really piss. Me. OFF.
My dumbass curiosity strikes again, how many SEAL Teams does the US Navy say it has nowadays?
IIRC, eight active, at last count. Teams 1, 3, 5, 7 in Coronado, Teams 2, 4, 8, 10 in Little Creek, and of course DEVGRU.
There are a couple reserve components, and Master Chief is far better versed than I in the SBU’s, etc.
East Coast Teams are 2, 4, 8, 10 and DEV GRU. There are Spec Boat Units (SBU’s) as well.
West Coast teams are 1, 3 …
Reserve force is under Group 11 and there is a SEAL Team 18 (east) and 17 (west).
His run of fame has only begun, I wonder if this lying-assed shit-for-brained snotweasel of a glittery gargoyle gonad-sniffing unicorn-lusting cockwad of a candyassed creampuff will join the ranks of the Dutch Rudder Gang? Just like other posers, I’m all for seeing him being forced to attend reunions of both SEALs and Beirut Bombing Vets and left unattended among the real Vets sans any cameras, outside witnesses, or recording devices and see if what’s left of him afterward keeps up the charade!
Don’t mince words, Proud Infidel – what do you *really* think? 🙂
Well at least he’s not claiming CPO.
So he’s got that going for him. Which is nice.
😀 🙄 😀
For a minute I thought the name was Phillip Dale Monkress.
Yet another shitbag this turd is.
This ain’t Monkress, but I would bet this guy has a sweet leather vest and rides. As a matter of fact, him and Monkress have probably quaffed a few beers together at Bike Week in honor of all of their fallen Seal brothers.
Loved Caddyshack ! 🙂
What is the deal with these guys picking out Beirut? It just seems to be more of them lately or maybe I’m just still new to the scene.
They think nobody knows or is still alive to dispute their claims.
The guys claiming to be Beirut bombing veterans are too young to fake being Vietnam veterans, and too old to fake being OIF/OEF veterans (or even Gulf War veterans for that matter.)
Their service (if any!) is limited to the 1980s, and the just HAVE to fake being a veteran of some kind of combat or conflict (or else they won’t be cool enough) so their options are limited to Grenada, Beirut, or Latin America.
PO1 with only one service stripe? The surplus store must have run out.
A lot of submarine guys (and carrier nukes) piss old salts off when they roll around with a PO1 crow and one service stripe.
I worked with a guy who made MM1 when he was a month past his 21st birthday. Pissed off a LOT of the old PO2/PO3’s.
Obviously, this young man missed his true calling.
He should have had a starring role on ‘Tall Tales of Derring-do’, Season 2. This is the show that gives people like this a chance to come up with the most convincing story you ever heard and get paid for it.
We should really create “Poser Trading Cards”.
Complete with stats: Times busted, criminal convictions, level of fraud, divorces, MC affiliation, branch of service, etc.
That would be fun.
Are you going to include rookie cards with that?
We could.
Chewing gum too? Gotta have chewing gum…
Chewed bubblegum?
And awards deceived I mean received?
You’re just saying that so you can unload all those Monkress APL rookie cards….
Amount of cheese consumed in a single sitting. Number of times they’ve crashed planes. Number of cocks they’ve swallowed( Phil Monkress and SLRRP41). Whether or not they have doors on their mail boxes.
Would that include a Point System?
Maybe something like this:
A bogus claim of
MoH – 50 Shitbird Points
DSC/DFC – 40 Shitbird Points
SS – 35 Shitbird Points
BSM w/V Device – 35 Shitbird Points
ARCOM w/V Device – 30 Shitbird Points
BSM w/o “V” Device – 30 Shitbird Points
ARCOM w/o “V” Device – 25 Shitbird Points
GCM – 20 Shitbird Points, an additional 15 for each additional award
Bogus SF, SEAL, Ranger, USMC Recon, or AF Special Ops – 40 Shitbird Points
Bogus Claims of rank (Honorary or otherwise):
Field Grade Officer – 45 Shitbird Points
Company Grade (O1-O3) – 40 Shitbird Points
Senior NCO (E7-E9)- 45 Shitbird Points
Junior NCO E6 and below) – 40 Shitbird Points
That’s just off the top of my head right now, points would be cumulatively added, say one claiming Ranger status, two MoH’s and three Silver Stars while claiming to have been an E7 would get 255 points, and claiming multiple awards of the same medal multiplies points awarded, whadda y’all think so far?
Sounds good. Would add 1000 points each for Purple Heart and POW claims. Yeah, those seriously honk me off.
Damn, I forgot about bogus PH and POW claims. I suggest 75 Shitbird points for each bogus MoH claim, 70 for bogus POW claims, and 65 points per bogus PH claim.
Didn’t PropsGuy come up with his own points system for the most recent tournament? Haven’t seen him around here lately, but as I recall he had an elaborate points system all figured out.
I would also add points if poser is linked to, or claim friendship with, any previous poser tournament winner. Extra points for deceased posers. For example, fifty extra points if affiliated with Monkress. 100 points if affiliated with Ballduster McSoulpatch. Double bonus if affiliated with both. At that point, a proven Poser Jedi Master.
Word.
We could even create a new game: “Seven Degrees of Phil Monkress”.
Could be like ‘Magic: The Gathering’ except filled with suck and fail!
The real action is after the bust. Points for legal threats, actual law suits filed, sock puppetry, death threats and did they join the DRG? That’s what turns a routine poser into a legend.
Give him/her 50 points for claiming flag/general officer status!
Actually, my idea is really not that original.
They already have the “Garbage Pail Kids”.
More like Truck Stop/Rest Stop Bathroom Kids. GT
Is that a Marine Corps GC medal at the top? Jesus! Do some research! If you are going to lie at least put some effort into it!
[…] Pingback: Phillip Ryman/Phillip Price; phony SEAL, Beirut vet : This ain't Hell, but you can see it from … […]
This shitbird needs to have a foot put up his ass far enough to be chewing toenails for daring to associate himself with a Medal of Honor sailor. I know some people have really low levels of self-esteem, but his must be waaaaay down in the shitter.
He need to be kicked in the ass SO HARD that the only thing he will ever taste afterward is boot leather and HIS ASS!
I guess he never learned in DEP that AG (Aerographer’s Mate) AKA weatherman was not a source rating for SEAL back in the day. But what do you expect from some asshat that hodgepodges his decorations like some sort of hobo stew.
I’d also love to see how a weather guesser managed to get a Combat Aircrew badge.
Cause he was strapped to a P-3 once and yelled out, “IT’S RAINING SIDEWAYS!!!”
Silentium Est Aureum
More like he had a “Strapon” and yelled out “IT’S RAINING MEN, HALLELUJAH!!!”
/he was in the Navy, you know. 😀 😀
Hold on a second. I have actually been strapped to a P-3 when it was raining sideways. Adak deployment with VP-9, 1985.
My apologies for the delayed comment. Different branch of service, but as a matter of fact, Air Force meteorologists who served as staff weather officers on the Looking Glass aircraft were authorized the Combat Crew badge and the Officer Aircrew Badge.
Anyone contact LMTS to let them know this turd gave them some free publicity in his picture of shame? Bet they’ll be real happy to see that.
There is a Ryman employed there…
That is actually how one of our very clever investigators was able to track him down. They were able to find out that his wife worked at that trucking company. The picture you’re seeing was of him showing up on her birthday to deliver some flowers. What he didn’t know at that time was he was putting his face out there further, and verifying his identity.
Without U there is no US.
Without U there is only FCK YO.
This could be fun–I mean fn.
“My buddy Michael Murphy” ????????
This guy is in too deep with his lies. How could he write that with a straight face.
For your reading pleasure, my best guess at what he’s tacked on his costume, in the official Ryman/Price order of precedence:
Navy Special Warfare Badge
Marine Corps GCM
CAR (upside down) Navy Exp. MFO
Kuwait Lib (upside down) NPUC Lib Kuwait
Navy GCM BSM NCM
NUC SS
Until I started coming to this site, I had no idea there were so many posers claiming to have been at the Beirut barracks bombing.
Knobs. All of them.
Booted at reception? What did he do, fail both shoe shining and bunk making?
2/17, I think he didn’t even make it out of the MEPS building.
I’m betting when the old Doc said “Turn your head and cough”, Phil said “Ooh,Baby,Baby, do that to me one more time” and the induction physical was terminated at that point and separation procedures began.
Or he was simply a fatass DEP no-show that wasn’t worth the hassle.
This isn’t about this particular valour thief, but I thought I’d bring to your notice the good news that one was busted in Florida today:
ELKTON MAN ARRESTED FOR FRAUD AND PERJURY
A 65-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on charges of obtaining a driver’s license with fraudulent information and perjury early this (Wednesday) afternoon.
The suspect, identified as Lloyd Keith Mitchell, 65, 4889 Las Floras Ct., Elkton, was booked into the County Jail on bonds totaling $3,000.
ILP Detectives began the investigation early last month when an anonymous tip was received that the suspect was presenting himself as a retired Admiral with the U.S. Navy. The investigation revealed that the suspect had made numerous statements that he served in the Navy with various units and even made an hour presentation at the Coquina Crossing’s Veteran’s Day celebration about his service in the U.S. Navy and actions during the post 9/11 days.
On a date in January of this year the suspect submitted a military discharge form to obtain “Veteran” status on his Driver’s License which also listed Mitchell as being the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Silver Star with clusters and the Vietnam Medal of Honor.
Detectives then contacted the NCIS at Mayport and learned that not only did Mitchell not serve in the U.S. Navy, there is no record of him serving in any military branch.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the two charges and located Mitchell at his home early this afternoon and booked him into the County Jail.

What’s with all the Beirut survivor phonies? There have definitely been a few before, but other than 9/11 fakers I don’t recall phonies claiming to be survivors of other terrorist attacks, like Khobar Towers, the Cole, or whatever.
The Cole? Sadly, we have Senior Chief Jeffrey Sparenberg.
http://hamptonroads.com/2009/12/cole-sailor-describes-bombing-was-he-even-ship
You got to love that NAM almost at the bottom of the rack!! Dam bottom feeder!!!
That POS is as 8TFU as Androsky.
This cretin makes me want to puke cherry pits right in his face.

POSERS: are they vicious morons, or just plain stupid?
He appears to be an awardee of the Coveted MFO medal ! Don’t mess with him ! !
I am just a old U.S.ARMY VIETNAM VETERAN
E-4 No big medals No big awards. But you know what
I would do it all over again in a second.
When I go outside the wire for that last walk and I meet the man up high i can stand up and say I was a U.S. SOLDIER A man noting is better then that. We got what they want and they can never get it. Soldier On
Hi guys. I have only been viewing this site for a short time, but I really like it. As I do like the comments on these posers, I do not like the increase in their numbers and their stupidity. I am commenting because this particular one must live in Raleigh, NC, where I grew up. What a short bus window licker. I will try to see if the local news is interested.
