Ryan Berk honored by MCL
You probably remember Sean Yetman who was exposed as a phony in a Philadelphia mall by Ryan Berk a few months ago on Black Friday. Mr. Berk was honored by his local Marine Corps League post for bringing attention to the issue of stolen valor, according to the Intelligencer;
Berk, a criminal justice major at Temple University who in November confronted a man who was dressed as a soldier but had not served in the military, was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the Marine group.
In presenting the award, Richard Weaver said the honor was given in recognition of Berk “raising public awareness to the issue of stolen valor in our society.”
I’ll admit that Berk has indeed succeeded in making the whole stolen valor thing part of the public discourse. I imagine that since he took the video of Yetman, it’s a lot harder for the phonies to go out in their phony finery and not be confronted.

Bravo Zulu to Ryan!
Nice job but I just have to ask a man who has dedicated many years and much fortune to exposing military phonies: Jonn, have you received this award?
Exactly… Jonn has done a lot for the veteran community and his efforts to expose phonies deserves something more than just an honorable mention.
So, what are we going to do about it? And screw Jonn. He has no say in this matter.
Well there is that little problem of when the phony Jarret Otto Gimbl called Jonn and among other things asked, “Are you a Marine?”
JOG: “Are you a Marine?”
JL: “… fuck no”
LMAO
I’m pleased that the issue of stolen valor is being raised. It’s bad enough that we military people are being dishonored without these clowns seeking honors they have not earned. Bravo to Mr. Berk for sounding off about DF Yetman.
Jonn is truly deserving of this award, and many more.
If for nothing else supplying us with a never ending stream of shitstains to rag on !!!
And for letting us deal with the likes of the turdbath , Dallas and the rest of the pukes !!!
I love it !!!
Way to go, way to be Ryan! Kudos and congratulations.
I’m sure MCL members everywhere think this is awesome…….except those MCL phonies we’ve busted.
I appreciate the sentiment afforde Mr. Ryan.
However, I do believe that the owner of this blog deserves a little something – a special box of cigars, a bottle of rum to be opened on specific holidays, a nice, woodgrained marble plaque with his name and ‘Thanks, Pal’ engraved on it – as recognition for doing his part to provide the highest forms of entertainment possible to all of us, and keeping himself busy in retirement.
Never fear, as we speak I am in the process of leading a high-speed team of dickweeds to steal Jobu’s rum and cigars.
Fuck you Jobu, I do it myself!
🙂
If I were to ever get to meet Ryan Berk in person, I would want the meeting to take place in an establishment that serves adult beverages, then he could have his next shot and a beer on me!! The same goes to all of the other Fine People of TAH®™, I’d ante up for a pizza or two to boot! 😀 (Open-Ended Offer!)
