Copenhagen gunman released from prison two weeks ago

We talked briefly about the gunman in Copenhagen this weekend who killed two people and injured five police officers in a shootout. The UK’s Telegraph reports that he was only recently released from prison where he had served a two-year sentence for “grievous bodily harm”;

“He was on the radar but he was not known to have travelled to conflict areas like Iraq or Syria,” [Danish security and intelligence service, Jens] Madsen said. “We cannot yet say anything concrete about the motive … but we are considering that he might have been inspired by the events in Paris,” he told a news conference.

But the “why” doesn’t really matter to the folks who have lost family members, does it? That’s why we have Guantanamo – because these creatures need to be removed from society. There is no chance for rehabilitation, no one is safe as long as they’re running around unsupervised.

So much for “catch and release”.

Heidi

He was in jail for stabbing someone on a bus, well known to PET, and part of a gang. And according to Tv2 (Danish news) he released a jihad video 1 hour before the shooting started. Oh and some morons put flowers down where he was shot and killed, grrrr

Re your comment about Gitmo. I believe Arkansas’ new Senator (I want to be an airborne Ranger Tom Cotton) pretty well stated the belief of 99.999 of those who post on TAH. Having been stationed in Europe a couple of time, I cannot help but wonder how these pieces of crap obtain the armament so easily. Their society is a lot more restricted than ours.

“. . . I cannot help but wonder how these pieces of crap obtain the armament so easily. Their society is a lot more restricted than ours.”

Yeah, and those restrictions don’t mean sh!t to someone intent on breaking the law and doing violence to others.

Laws only restrict the behavior of law-abiding citizens.

Restrictions do not equate to black-market lack of availability. I remember a while back when a writer for one of the gun rags bet he could score a pistol within an hour of landing in London. He won by half an hour.

If these peace loving IS looneys are being watched? Why are they not shot dead as soon as they produce a weapon? I think my idea of being watched is different than the UK and Euro version. People intending to kill others will always find a supplier of C4 or firearms.Look at Washington, D.C. as restrictive as any Euro nation. Bad guys have firearms and people who follow the law get to be victims. Joe

This is what western civilization has been reduced to. Watching after the fact on cameras of their citizens being murdered because they are too scared to address the obvious.

Hope he was the “bitch” in prison…
