Monday morning feel good stories

| February 2, 2015

So, let’s get this week started, first with news from Arkansas;

“There were three suspects that came in,” [Blytheville Police Captain Scott] Adams said. “One was armed and two came around the corner. The manager heard some loud noises or someone yelling, then she comes out and they see her. The offender with the gun shoots and she returns fire, then they all ran out.”

Adams said he doesn’t believe the suspects got away with anything and the employees helped police begin their investigation.

“The employees in the store were able to see which way they ran,” Adams said.

And a short story from Texas;

Police said a 35-year-old man broke into a home around 11 a.m. on the 1200 block of W. Mistletoe Ave.

The homeowner heard the break-in and went downstairs to investigate.

Police said the homeowner saw the suspected burglar in the kitchen and shot him.

The suspected burglar was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Finally, we get Louisiana where the criminals don’t bother to do a good recon of their targets;

According to an initial investigation, LSP troopers determined that an off-duty Thibodaux police officer was at his residence in Labdieville when an unknown man broke into his home in an attempted burglary.

The LSP said the officer was shot at when he attempted to stop the buglar. He returned fire on the suspect who fled into a nearby vehicle.

According to the report, the suspect was able to leave the scene on Louisiana Highway 1. His whereabouts remain unknown.

One out of three is just not good enough people. Get more range time. Owning a gun is not enough, you should be able to use it effectively.

At least none of the suspects were reported as ‘victims’, for once. And spend some time at the range, peeps.

The Party of Hell No!

Two comments picked out of the news reports. First comment by Captain Adams: “They all took cover [Dominos’ Employees] and they got out of the way,” Adams said. “We don’t want anybody getting hurt.” Ahh Mr. captain, no we don’t want innocent people hurt. Criminals not so much; dead, or hurting so bad they will never consider robbery again. Especially since this is the third robbery of this store in two months and Mr. captain believes they are the same criminals all three times; this my friends is called police fail.

The second comment is in the report from Texas. At the end this line is tacked on: “The homeowner has a family, but was home alone during the time of the incident.” What does this mean? Is this to explain why he was home at 11:00 and was able to shoot the suspect? Is it now only appropriate to shoot criminals as long as you have a family? Didn’t know it was not appropriate if you are single, at home alone, married, without your wife or children present to shoot people breaking and entering. Who writes crap like this?
