Tim Johnson homeless phony SEAL

| January 17, 2015

Tim Johnson

There was this homeless guy in Pueblo, Colorado, Tim Johnson, who was featured on a news broadcast locally in a story about getting housing for homeless veterans. For some reason, he thought it would be useful to call himself a Navy SEAL, but, you know with Don Shipley around, that’s never a good idea;

“I just looked his name up in a database that lists every person who has graduated from any type of SEAL training in our 70-year history,” Don Shipley, a retired Navy SEAL said. “There was no one by that name listed as [ever] being a Navy SEAL.”

We went back to Johnson’s apartment for answers Friday.

We asked Johnson about his military background.

“We traveled a lot,” he said. “We watched the waters in the ocean.”

We kept pressing Johnson about being a SEAL. Soon, his story changed.

“I was not a SEAL,” he said. “They wanted me to do that. They asked me to do that.”

For clarification, we asked whether the military wanted Johnson to be a SEAL.

“I think they did,” Johnson replied.

Yeah, I think they didn’t. I’m sure the Navy didn’t want to waste their money on a space cadet who can barely form coherent sentences. The news folks say that Johnson is a veteran and deserves some sort of assistance, but someone should cough up a DD214 before I believe that.

I wonder which MOS in the Navy involved “watching the water in the ocean”, besides all of them.

At first, reading about all of these phonies was funny. Now, it seems to be an everyday occurrence and kind of stopped being as amusing. You would think that these idiots would get the picture by now.

I like this guy. He reminds me of me – except I was an anti-SEAL for which there is no database.

Of course, Tim Johnson lacks an ample girth which is the hallmark of a real fake American hero. And a fake non-fiction book.

We have a Vet Court and a program to get vets homes, the requirement is the VA has to validate they are a Vet. The Vet court will accept people into the program if they have any service – even dishonorable, as long as it is not a violent offense. (and i’m ok with that)

But the “free” homes for vets program requires VA approval. Yet I question some of the people who have gotten that help. One that made the news was a 57 year old who was in the Active Army, National Guard in Ohio, Kentucky, Alaska and Indiana with over 15 years of service, claims three tours of Iraq between 2005 and 2009, and claims was wounded in 2006 by an IED, in one story was an E-5 when that happened.

That is not imposable, a 50 year old E-5 in the Guard. But three tours in four years? With an injury? and then having problems in 2010 with the law and losing his home, divorce, drug abuse, etc.

It could be true, but just does not smell right. I did follow the steps for an FOIA request, we will see what comes up.

Another “homeless” vet getting help told me he was “Former Army Airborne Infantry – Simper Fi!” But has a VA card and we have taken him to the VA several times and they don’t turn him away.

It could be true, especially for the Guard. There were a few “deployment” junkies who’d come home and then jump to another unit looking to back fill.

Ex-344MP

We had a few of those deployment junkies in my unit. The minute they started demobbing, they were trying to backfill into another unit to go back over.

Pretty common in the Reserves.

Hondo

Indeed.

And some men like ta hear, ta hear cannon ball a roarin’ . . .

Interviewer: So, what did you do for country?

Phony SEAL: Um, ohh, good one!

All he had to do was talk about what he did in the Navy. Nothing complex. But, he had to ponder and think about it. 🙄

“Watch our waters?”

I don’t think he was talking about how the engineers measured the water levels in the water tanks, as well as do water testing. He was pulling stuff out of his butt with that one.

Makes me wonder what his actual Navy service was like. 🙄

CLAW131

The body language (Instantly folded arms across chest) when asked that question told me everything I needed to know about him.

My bet he was a Reception Station Bed-Wetter if he even made it that far into the induction process.

“Watch our waters”.
So HE was the guy in the latrine assigned to watch during our piss tests…

Roger in Republic

“Watching our waters: is the job of the Coast Guard. The job of the Navy is “watching other peoples waters”.

FatCircles0311

Amazing. Nobody gives me free shit.

Where do I sign up?

nbcguy54

I used to get free shit all the time. Then I got divorced.

Gosh… this guy is one of the worst fakes of all time. Doesn’t seem to know a single effing thing about the SEALS, and when pinned down had some of the lamest answers ever.

And I think the problem with fraudulent SEALS might get worse, now that the movie about Chris Kyle has just started showing in theaters.

Can’t wait to find out what this knob did (or didn’t) do in the military.

AverageNCO

A phony running his scam in Doug Sterner’s hometown? Hee be not to smrat

CLAW131

I had wondered about that too. Especially when Pueblo is known as the “Home of Heroes” for the however many MOH recipients that reside there.
Oh, well, that is what happens when the entrées of your free three hots and a cot are marijuana laced Twinkies.

NR Pax

This one was so pitiful, he shouldn’t even be in the running for the next award.

DIPSHIT

Ex-PH2

The only things he watched were on TV.

The only things he ran were away from.

The only thing he does/did as a seal is making that big sucking noise that the flapper valve makes when the commode is flushed.

nbcguy54

Perhaps he’d do a little better down the road in Trinidad where he could get snipped and have a whole new imaginary life. Instead of a seal, he could be a cow.

NHSparky

I guess I was a shitty sailor. I didn’t get to watch the waters much from the inside of a boat.

Dave Hardin

Give the man a break, he is obviously a BT. Those people see and hear all kinds of shit down there. Come on, they interviewed him out in the daylight and everything. Who expects a hole snipe to act normal anyway?
