Sunday morning feel good stories

| January 18, 2015

This morning’s first feel good story comes from Oklahoma;

The victim of an attempted robbery shot the man who allegedly tried to rob him outside of a convenience store Friday in northwest Oklahoma City, according to police.

About 8 p.m., a man was walking out of the Four Seasons Gas and Food, 13 NW 63, when another man tried to rob him. The victim then shot the robber, police said.

Police did not release the condition of the man shot. A body was at the scene of the shooting.

The next story comes from New Jersey;

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday two men burst into a variety story in the 400 block of Central Avenue, with one man ordering customers onto the floor and threatening to shoot if the owner did not give the pair money. One of the suspects, 23-year-old Durell Hearn, was wielding an AK-47 pistol and fired a warning shot, department spokesman Sgt. Ron Glover said.

The owner of the business, who was behind the counter, reached for a handgun she keeps in the store and fired a number of rounds at Hearn and the other man, Arthur Price, 50.

The woman, whose name was not released, struck Hearn in the leg as the two men fled the store. Hearn fired a shot as he fled but did not strike anyone, Glover said, adding that Hearn’s gun was later found on the sidewalk outside the store.

Price later told police he drove Hearn to University Hospital, where emergency room personnel contacted police when Price dropped off Hearn.

Next welcome to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia;

[Clay County Sheriff Garrett] Samples said the shooting happened about 8:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Little Beechy Road in Clay County. Samples said the homeowner, Jerry Quinn, 64, was in bed when he heard an intruder inside of his residence. Quinn fired at the armed intruder, fatally shooting him.

Samples said initial evidence suggests it was self-defense. He said Quinn kept a weapon in a bedside table.

Finally, the last story comes from Missouri;

David Shemonia, 31, of New Athens had broken out a rear window of a home in the 9400 block of Torrens Lane, according to Capt. Scott Weymouth, with the county sheriff’s department. The owner of the home, Bruce Shockley, told police he heard a noise and fired.

Shockley, 56, called police at 5:41 p.m. and when officers arrived, they found Shemonia dead in the backyard of the home.

Weymouth said the two men knew each other.

“The homeowner found out after he shot the intruder that he was familiar with the man,” Weymouth said.

He declined to characterize the relationship beyond that, other than to say the men were not related.

3 dead and 1 wounded, looks like some of these potential victims had been doing some proficiency shooting. I like it when I see numbers like this.
I find my daily range time to be not only calming and refreshing for my mind, mood and attitude, but also helps tons in putting the lead thingy where I want it to be.

AK-47 pistol?
Guess I’m a little behind as far as knowing what weapons are out there nowadays…

Hayabusa

They do make them. In this case, however, I’m assuming that we’re dealing with reporters who don’t know what they hell they’re talking about.

Instinct

Ya know, they should have it that if the intended victim makes the perp drop the gun as they are running away, the good guy gets to keep the gun.

Just seems fair to me.

Weekend Warrior in Texas

Well…it is New Jersey, and law abiding citizens are forbidden to possess those kinds of firearms. They should just give it back to the perp.

iNSTINCT, A ak47 PISTOL is a buttress AK. No foldind stock or fixed wood butt piece. Also it is illegal to add a buttpiece. It is labeled as a pistol because of the lack of a butt piece. There are kinds of different rifles/pistols. My Mare’s Leg is classed as a pistol when it is a cut down lever action. These are available in 9mm , 223, 45acp in SAR(semi automatic rifle) design. Hopes this helps. Joe

I hope that the NJ store owner has all of he paperwork in order and doesn’t have a hollow point anywhere in the store or her home. Otherwise, she’ll be spending as much time in jail as the guy who tried to rob her.
