Tuesday morning feel good story

| December 16, 2014

This morning’s feel good stories are brought to you by Chief Tango, the first happening in Ohio;

The shooting happened Saturday at about 9:30 p.m. at the 12th Street Market after two men wearing masks held up the clerk and attempted to rob the store.

Combs said one of the robbers stuck a gun in Grayson Matthews’ face while the other robber demanded money and jumped over the counter.

“When the guy jumped over and he took his eyes off my brother, that was his chance to defend himself and he come over the counter and he said he was pretty sure he shot them in the face or cheek,” Combs said.

Detectives said the robbers exchanged gunfire with 53-year-old Matthews and shot him in the side.

Police said the robbers ran away after the incident, but shortly after the shooting a man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators said they are determining if the man is connected to the robbery.

The next story comes from Alabama;

George said police arrived at the scene after receiving a call about gunshots at the residence.

George said the incident allegedly began after Randall Dale Gaddy — who apparently lived in the house next door, the captain said — and the homeowner got into an argument. At some point, Johnson went inside his house and locked the door, George said.

“Our preliminary investigation indicates that Gaddy then had taken a cinder block and smashed in some windows,” George said. “The homeowner then fired two or three rounds through the front door.”

Gaddy’s body will be sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for an autopsy.
