“Louisiana Purchase” Turns Out Toxic
Well, the next-to-last results are in from the 2014 elections.* And there’s a story related to that today which simply warms my old, cold heart. (smile)
Remember Mary “Louisiana Purchase” Landrieu? You know, that Senator from Louisiana who sold her vote on Obamacare in exchange for “special financial considerations” for her Louisiana constituents? And did so in spite of the fact that most of her constituents didn’t want ObamaCare to pass?
Well, Louisiana held a runoff election for US Senator yesterday. And in what was IMO a fine example of Karmic retribution, Mary “Louisiana Purchase” Landrieu . . . lost.
Seems like the people of Louisiana doen’t much care for ObamaCare – with or without their special financial considerations. Or maybe they just didn’t like having a senator that blatantly sells their vote. Either way, they decided to remember that fact when they went to the polls.
Bye-bye, Senator. Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out of your office, and enjoy looking for a job in that “wonderful economy” the current POTUS has created since he took over.

So she’ll actually have to work for a living now? My, oh my, what a comedown.
Maybe she could sell auto parts at the local McMurphy’s.
Delilah T. “sell auto parts at the local McMurphy’s”. Good call but I don’t think she’s that smart. Maybe if she looks at her license every time she gets in the car to be sure she remembers her name, she could be one of those auto parts delivery folks. But that brings up the whole map reading, memory and directions thing, which again, will outsmart her before she leaves their parking lot.
According to the WaPo’s financial portrait of Landrieu, her personal wealth soared 46% in 2009-2010. She has holdings of about 2 million in real estate alone. I am always amazed at how many Senators and Representatives seem to suddenly become wise and shrewd investors while serving the public. Amazed. Always.
Funny how that happens, huh?
Hey, don’t make fun. I bet she will have to worry about how to send her kids to Harvard and how she’ll pay her mortgageS now.
I just hope her excessive Senate pension is able to maintain her standard of living. (If it is more than 23 cents a year, it is excessive.)
This is one of the most significant things about the gummint that bugs me. If you go to your representative and say, “I’ll give you 25 grand to vote yes on this bill” you are bribing a public official. If you are a “Lobbyist” and say, “we will give your campaign 25 grand if you vote yes on this”, you are perfectly legal.
This is why: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” is so fitting to DC/Hollywood.
Landrieu won’t worry about working after, she’ll move right into lobbying…Glad southern Louzana finally got rid of her.
And from just hearing her talk for 5 seconds, its obvious she’s not going to be sticking around in Louisiana. She’ll “sell” her house there that gives her claim to be in that office.
No need. It is her parent’s house.
Ah, no wonder she got so many votes!
All the other people living in their mom’s basement sided with her…
SPLASH OUT!!
Another one bites the dust, excuse the *BLEEP* out of me for not having one bit of sympathy for her!! /sarc
Dammit Proud! Ya beat me to it.
Let’s all squeak out a tear for Mary “Louisiana Purchase” Landrieu, and sing her a rousing rendition of “Happy Trails!”
Squeeze out a tear for her–or something else. She’s froggy, or at least she married into Frogitude. So, this is particularly apt:
