Who Ya Gonna Call?

| October 16, 2014

Saw this AP story and fought off a brief episode of paranoia to wonder why he would NOT be calling out Homeland Defense, and/or the CDC or any of the myriad Federal agencies actually tasked with this sort of thing?

I kinda assumed he was talking about CONUS before reality hit? But no…

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama on Thursday authorized the Pentagon to call up reserve and National Guard troops if they are needed to assist in the U.S. response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Mind you he apparently didn’t consider extra funding for  WHO or other international health organization? So some shoe salesman from Anywhere, USA could be sent to Africa?

I never thought I would say this but if I was ordered by this President to WEST AFRICA TO FIGHT EBOLA I’d refuse the order and tell him to go fuck himself. I signed up to defend the USA and our Constitution not act like Doctors Without Borders.

More like Nurses without training.

I hear that the authorization was slated to occur anyway, to enforce Michele Obama’s anti-obesity campaign. Word is that few school kids are availing themselves of the tofu lunches and dried-fruit vending machines in favor of processed food sandwiches (on white bread!) and chocolate bars.

Ghostbusters. Definitely the Ghostbusters.

We could use some total protonic reversal in Washington right now.

speaking of which, it’s on AMC right now. Venkman’s about to get slimed.

The Other Whitey

“Come in, Ray!”
“Venkman! Can you see it?”
“It’s right here, Ray! It’s LOOKING at me, Ray!”
“Ugly little bastard, isn’t he?”
“I think he can hear you, Ray.”

I know I probably shouldn’t joke, given the gravity of the situation at hand, but I love that movie.

As far as the National Guard going to Liberia, well…”This job is definitely not worth eleven-five a year!”

“Hey, he’s a sailor, we’re in New York; we get this guy laid, we won’t have any problems!”

If my son was called up to go, I’d tell him to refuse, that’d I’d hide him out and find the best lawyers I could find to defend him.

This president and his administration is out of control and out of their minds. If there was ever a clear & present danger to our nation that required impeachment, this is it.

Yep. First time in my lifetime that this seems like the only rational response.

Joe Biden’s son doesn’t have to worry about that now… he’s a former reservist:

Did anybody else catch the slip or on purpose by Obummer? Momjeans said 4000 Troops instead of 3000.Mission creep or really trying to finish us off? Joe

If I was Reserve or NG and got called on to go to Africa for this, my first move would be to avoid it via a Medical Profile, and if all else failed, I’d seriously consider going AWOL. I had no issues with going to the ME to fight, but going to play nursemaid where we have no business being is another issue!

How about attending to the outbreaks we have in Dallas maybe? Liberia’s got a whole continent full of closer neighbors who have should have skin in the game.

I agree. This is far enough. The troops need to refuse the order to deploy to Africa. If the top brass in the military doesn’t care about our troops, then we need to step up and put a stop to this. There’s nothing they can do to help ‘fight’ Ebola, all they can do is die. Horribly. They need to stay home.
