Aim High…With Waivers

Air Force expands waivers for recruits with asthma, food allergies

By Riley Ceder

The Air Force has expanded medical waivers to cover asthma, food allergies and hearing loss in an effort to boost recruitment, according to Air & Space Forces Magazine.

The Air Force Recruiting Service’s Accessions Medical Waiver Division decided to expand tolerances after the Air Force whiffed on recruiting goals last year for the first time since 1999, division head Col. Ian Gregory told the magazine.

Asthma, food allergies and hearing loss have the highest number of waiver requests for the service.

The waiver tolerances went into effect Nov. 1 following Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Alex Wagner’s approval of the additions, Air & Space Forces Magazine reported.

Between 600 and 1,000 more recruits per year are expected to join as a result of the waiver expansion, according to the magazine.

Coming to a MEPS near you- Navy Cat III ASVAB retards with Air Force health waivers. The NCO in me weeps.

The Air Force needs a new Stargate SG1 show. Where is Richard Dean Anderson when you need him?

Here it is…

SFC D

I’m 62, 60% VA disability, diabetic, asthma, deteriorated discs, 2 kinds of cancer, and a permanent limp. By today’s standards, I could probably qualify for enlistment.

Mark L.

Good news: Elon and Vivek will make sure that disability gets taken away, so you won’t have to worry about that much longer.

Hack Stone

Hack Stone is all in with doing away with disabilities. Not so much as to doing away with disability pay.

SFC D

Yup. If they can manage to take away the disability, I’d be happy.

Mark L.

Nope, just the money. Not sure why I am getting downvotes, this is one of the stated goals of Project 2025.

Hack Stone

Why does everyone who opposes Donald Trump try to associate him with Project 2025? Donald Trump nor his campaign drafted Project 2025, it was assembled by an independent think tank with policies that they would like to see implemented. Donald Trump never endorsed Project 2025, but that being said, there are probably some items in there that he may like to see enacted. Think tanks put out policy papers all of the time, focused on what they want to happen. Most of them get filed in the trash can by the politicians they send them to, other politicians may take a few recommendations to act on, but no politician is going to publicly wholeheartedly endorse one of these policy papers from an outside organization. Full disclosure, Hack Stone never read Project 2025, and he is more than confident to say that everyone screeching about Project 2025 have never read the entire document, and an overwhelming number of those have never read it all. So, have you read Project 2025 from cover to cover?

FuzeVT

Here is the Dem 2024 playbook:

1) Say that Project 2025 is LITERALLY the sequel to Mein Kampf and that it’s all about killing minorities, gassing LGBTQ*#&^%*(@ people, taking money from the poor to fund fancy rich people parties, etc. In other words lie about how terrible it is.

2) When step 1 has completed and People who don’t know better (folks who believe the News is true) in the country believe the lies about “PROJECT 2025”, then they can easily use “Project 2025” as a quick and easy shorthand for all the lies they had worked to associate with the Project.

Saul Alinsky would be ever so proud.

Jimbojszz

You are right on the money. I received political mail advocating that Trump was the sponsor and endorsed Project 25. I have listen to many libitards spouting how Trump with his Project 25 agenda is going to rape America take away all your rights. The dimwits ran with it and there was no talking Reality to them as they believe anything the demon-crats say as the gospel of god. Stupid is hard to overcome!

rgr769

Yep. “Rules for Radicals,” the Prog playbook.

timactual

Arrrrggghhh!!
Truth and facts!!
I’m melting!!!

SFC D

Yes, it is. It’s also irrelevant. Listen very carefully, I’m only saying this once:

Donald Trump has no connection to Project 2025.

You’re getting downvotes because you are (1) ignorant, and (2) arrogant.

rgr769

Don’t forget “gullible.”

timactual

And too damn lazy to to read it for himself.

Forest Bondurant

Trump’s association with PROJECT 2025 has been debunked, but libtards struggle with accepting facts.

You’re getting downvotes because you keep parroting that dogshit lie.

Apart from that, VA disability benefits are codified in federal law.

LC

Honest question — what do you mean by ‘debunked’? It’s certainly true that Trump himself didn’t have any part in writing it… but various people who did are now being hired by his administration.

It’s just as disingenuous to claim he’s got no association with it as to say it’s his playbook, period. There seems to be no question in my mind that folks like Russ Vought, who is one of the architects of it and will be (again) Trump’s OMB pick won’t push for the things they adamantly believe, that they themselves put in… wait for it… Project 2025.

timactual

“There seems to be no question in my mind”

Obviously.

Fyrfighter

Libs don’t struggle with accepting facts, they flat out refuse to.

E. Conboy

As demonstrated by one of my previously beloved relatives. No going back.

Diddycrats can change their handles, but NOT their ideology.

Congratulations! You just won the contest for the dumbest damn thing said on the internet today!

That quite an accomplishment!

I guess you would rather see 4 more years of Biden? BTW, where’s he been for the last 6 months?? NM, we all know!

Fn dumb!! Like supersonic stupid comment!!!

Grab a few extra retirement points!

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Im 100% and could probably still kick the asses of 80% of todays recruits 🤣

E. Conboy

I have only 20/200 vision but training to be a sharpshooter when if I find the range. Which way? 👀

Mark L.

The Air Force and Marines are the only two branches that hit or exceed their recruiting numbers without effort every year, so I have no idea why they would be doing this. If this is the result of missing just one years’ numbers I worry for the future.

Hack Stone

Marines meeting recruiting goals with no effort? Shit, back when Hack was recruiting in the Midwest, he was lucky to get one day off a month, and that one day all of the stores were closed because of the Blue Laws.

NEC338x

Good news! Vivek and Elon will do away with the Air Force/Space Force and Marines since they are not specifically named in the Constitution. That will free up those stellar candidates and additional tax dollars for the Army and Navy. /s

Mark L.

The Space Force is absolutely worthless, considering they simply renamed Space Command, and the Navy has more planes than the Air Force, so I agree.

SFC D

Damn, he tossed that bait out there, and hooked you bad!

Army-Air Force Guy

Didn’t know how to read the /s tag 😂

Hack Stone

In space no one can hear your tinnitus.

The Space Force was going to usurp the Air Force slogan “Aim High!”, but after watching the Imperial Stormtroopers miss Han Solo from 10 feet away, weapons qualification does not seem to be a prerequisite to wearing the uniform.

BSmitty56

I asked a friend how she did on the rifle qualification course in air force basic. She (sheepishly) replied that she was on sick call that week.

Hack Stone

A week on sick call? Isn’t that 20% of their training cycle?

Fyrfighter

10 rnds from a .22?

A Proud Infidel®™

I remember the USAF using “A great way of life” for their recruiting ads, now that they’re going after the S, L&L to fill their recruiting goals, maybe they can use that again?

The Marines are part of the Navy, just look at their seal.😁

Fyrfighter

Naval Infantry..

Dennis - not chevy

Believe or don’t the US Navy had an Infantry that wasn’t made up of Marines. This Infantry, made up of Sailors assigned to specific ships, was used as landing parties amongst other assigned duties.

Fyrfighter

I did know that… But it doesn’t rile up jarheads the way calling them Naval Infantry does..

11B-Mailclerk

“Navy Bellhops” also tends to tweak ire.

Fyrfighter

They don’t seem overly fond of “My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment” either..

SgtM

A squid is just a lower form of Marine life.

Green Thumb

The Army did!

They lowered their target numbers!

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

Hearing waivers? Oh, THAT will go over well.

Whatcha say? Speak up, I can’ hear you. Incoming mail? You mean my girl finally wrote me a letter? Take cover? You’re not getting my headgear. Oh, and btw…pass me my inhaler.

Don’t know why the Chair Force is hurting for recruits. I thought that the ranks were going to be filled with the LGBTQLSMFT Crowd?

Lots of medical discharges with expensive disabilities coming up. Oh no, I have a toast allergy.

Mark L.

As if the Air Force wasn’t already the softest branch of the military.

Dennis - not chevy

Softest? Tell that to the TACP’s. Oh, I forgot, no one has made a movie about them, so there’s no way for civilians to know who they are.

SFC D

I’d never heard of Air Force combat controllers until after AIT when a few of us went to Kessler for training and lived in the same barracks. I mean dorm. Them boys ain’t right.

Green Thumb

DS: “Move, Maggot!”

AF Recruit: “Its my asthma, Drill Sergeant! That’s why I cannot make the run!”

DS: “Shut your suck and haul ass before I plant my foot in your ass!”

AF Recruit: “I am offended. I am reporting you!”

Jimbojszz

They will get waivers, so there will be no PT portion of basic. Chair time and a little bit of walking. Mostly to the chow hall.
More of a group therapy session with cookies and milk. Unless they have allergies then maybe some soy milk. The DI will have to tuck them in at night so they are comfy, maybe a kiss on the forehead for good measure.

A Proud Infidel®™

And next will be “safe rooms” and “safe spaces” with puppies and coloring books like they hand out to college snowflakes these days!

SFC D

Hard to say. Is it trolling, or overconfident ignorance? The Shadow knows…

SgtM

Somebody wandered into the wrong room with their progressive lies.

A Proud Infidel®™

He sounds like some brainwashed Kolledj stoodint to me!

rgr769

Maybe he has been hanging out with our beloved commie cuttlefish aka The Commissar.

11B-Mailclerk

The foogas is just sitting there…..

SFC D

Has anyone checked the claymores lately?

SFC D

Commissar put a hell of a lot more effort into his posts.

11B-Mailclerk

A high fiber diet might improve that.

rgr769

What’s next for Chair Force waivers? Waivers for paraplegics? To be more DEI, how about age waivers for people in their 60’s or 70’s?

Dennis - not chevy

It might work. Recruiters, other than Air Force, had set up a display at a recent dog and pony show. Amongst the displays was a new fangled barbell with weights. I asked if lifting it was part of the enlistment routine. The recruiter said go ahead and try. So successfully lifted it.

I also get notifications on LinkedIn from military recruiters.

Maybe the military is looking for a few old men.

11B-Mailclerk

Hm. Back in as a 60+ Mailclerk? LOL.

I have been hitting the gym pretty good for the last year…

Jimbojszz

They could have courses on self defense with a walking cane. Maybe give the 70 year olds an extra 25 minutes if they’re using walkers to finish a mile for qualifying. Or if they have care giver assisted meal needs, they could just qualify if they have all there teeth, or can find there dentures.

SFC D

I use a Coldsteel Irish blackthorn cane occasionally. A real hard swing would cave in your skull.

Jimbojszz

Now the Air Force needs to up the age of reenlistment. There a lot of older people that could run circles around recruits with waivers.

SFC D

I can’t run circles around them but I can damn sure outlast them.

Anonymous

Sh*t, I’m approaching MRD and the local police told me I’m in better shape than the recruits they accept these days.
