Walsh’s masters degree revoked

| October 10, 2014

John Walsh

The Associated Press reports that former colonel and appointed Senator, John Walsh, admitted that the Army War College revoked his masters degree after their investigation since August of charges that he had plagiarized much of his thesis;

The college assigned the case to its academic review board, which began its investigation Aug. 15 after giving Walsh time to submit documentation in his defense.

Walsh has called the unattributed use of others’ work an “unintentional mistake.” He said he was being treated for symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder following his deployment in Iraq, but added he was not blaming PTSD for his mistake.

Then why even mention the PTS thing, if he’s not blaming the condition for his lying ass? I’m still waiting for him to prove that he was being treated for PTS, since he brought it up, otherwise people are going to think that PTS makes people lie their stupid asses off. It will become part of the popular culture like “Rambo” if someone doesn’t force Walsh to prove that he was being treated, again, since he brought it up. We already know that his estimate of IED attacks that he lived through has been been reduced down to one. Well, he’s out of politics for the time being, until the next time. Plagiarism hasn’t had an impact on Joe Bite Me’s electability.

PTSD – a good excuse for bad behavior. In this instance, it’s the cover for someone who decided to copy 3/4ths of a 14 page paper because he was lazy and felt entitled.

“Unintentional mistake” my fuggin’ ass. Even in high school I knew what plagiarism was, and knew not to do it. This guy is a moron.

HS Junior

Word.

TacticalTrunkMonkey

I just got off academic probation for plagiarism. I admit that I was lazy. And it was wrong! It cost me the cost of the class, and it’s on my record.

But you better bet your ass, that I will never do that for my Masters…

Funny thing, the realtive promptness of this investigation and decision. Bergdahl’s investigation is ended, too, but the outcome will not be coming our way until after the midterm elections–while at least one of traded-for-traitor terrorists is in Iraq with (Drum roll) ISIS! Yep. That story should be getting around soon but, golly gee, for some reason it’s being kept quiet. Sssssh.

2/17 Air Cav

Yeah, it’s in corners (that’s how I learned about it–googling) but BIG MEDIA is silent.

ByrdMan

I’m sorry my friend, but the reason big media hasn’t picked that story up is because it’s not true.

The original report came of off “The National Report” which is a satire news sight. Other headlines of theirs include “Bristol Palin Signs Contract With UFC” and “Ferguson MO District Renamed George Zimmerman Square”. The link I provided above is a snopes.com entry confirming it’s origins.

Oh.

The investigation IS complete, but they ARE burying it until after the midterms.

Please find something other than “SNOPES” to verify. Their liberal leanings are well documented.

It appears I have been misunderstood.

I was not referring to the Bergdahl investigation, or to Walsh’s degree revocation, but the assertion that the men traded for Bergdahl were now ISIS leaders.

To clarify:

There is no truth to the story that any of the five terrorists traded for Bergdahl are with ISIS. That story originated on a satirical news site. It was then picked up by various bloggers and wannabe news sites.

And if you don’t like Snopes we can use Politifact.

As a veteran and as a graduate student…

Good.

And soon enough he will be out of office.

Nice to see that some organizations and their senior individuals still retain a sense of right and wrong. Kudos to MG Rapp and his folks at the AWC for doing the right thing here.

Now, let’s see if the Army as an institution will follow-through and convene (1) an AR 15-6 investigation, then (2) a Board of Officers to review his retired grade. I’m thinking that misconduct of this sort, if substantiated via the findings of a formal investigation, just might invalidate the “successful service” required for an officer to retire at his final Federally-recognized grade.

An Old Artillery Sgt

Would love to see him get demoted too. His promotion was based on his completion of the War College. Now that it has been proven that he cheated, his retirement should be reduced. AND possibility he has to return the amount paid under false pretenses. That’s plain and simple FRAUD!!!.

A Proud Infidel®™

AMEN to that!! His degree has been revoked, that’s step one, let’s see if they’ll do what’s right and proceed with step two!!

CLAW131

Hopefully step two will be for him to throw on a 110 pound ruck and foot march from Missoula to Miles City. As an added bonus he is trailed by a 11B PFC with a size 14 boot who gives him a swift kick in the ass every time he slacks off.

RazorbackStrong

I saw a picture of this guy wearing a star today. Fox or CNN. In front of a one-star flag. Think he jumped the gun?

Luddite4Change

He was a BG in the Montana Guard, but was not recognized by the Feds. Once the Feds denied his recognition permanently due to some conflict of interest an misuse of his office he moved to the retired list.

I will be interesting to see if he is permitted to retain his retired grade. He was promoted to O-6 legitimately, but his service with this black mark was less that satisfactory.

An Old Artillery Sgt

WHAT!!!! I didn’t know this. He retired as a Brig Gen??? And was Lt Gov of Montana? Then a US Senator!. WHAT!!

He was investigated as Montana Adjutant General and they found he misused his office.

Throw the book at him..

MT FAO

He was never recognized at the federal level as a BG. That was only at the state level because he was the TAG. Anytime he was out of state he had to pin on Colonels Eagles. It seems that he got reprimanded for something and it kept him from being a true BG

Hondo

MT FAO: correct. The original investigation of Walsh for misuse of Federal resources (we’ve written about that previously – see http://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=39121 ) which substantiated misconduct on his part prevented him from receiving Federal recognition as a BG.

Roger in Republic

Since he is a Democrat I doubt that the CinC would approve that move. In fact, I’m really surprised that they took it this far.

A Proud Infidel®™

That’s what had me wondering just how the dems and their media lackeys would try to bury this.

jonp

This shit is not done yet. Plagiarism is a crime under UCMJ and I will be surprised if he is not stripped of rank over this.

Thunderstixx

Good…
Strip his ass to E-1 and a few months in Leavenworth as an example of Military Justice…
The word will get around…
Asshole…

Can you imagine … I did not see this coming at all!
