Tuesday morning feel good story
Today’s story comes from Texas where the homeowner was awakened by his alarm system in time to encounter a fellow entering the home through his backdoor;
The homeowner confronted the man and then caught him as he fled, police said. The two got in a scuffle, police said, and the suspected burglar hit the homeowner repeatedly on the head.
As the man ran again, the homeowner told police he fired a shot that hit the man in the leg. Officers determined the homeowner did not know the man and confirmed it was a burglary attempt.
Officers later found a large screwdriver on the driveway that the man apparently used in the burglary attempt and the alleged assault.
I can’t figure out how these guys with guns “got in a scuffle” – I understand the reluctance to shoot a man, but if they’re close enough to “hit the homeowner repeatedly on the head”, they’re within range.

Close enough to scuffle is TOO close. Being a certified Old Fart, I’d rather take you out at a distance. I’m too old to scuffle anymore.
I noticed that the screwdriver did not get away. And perhaps the homeowner was on a bullet budget.
I don’t understand why anyone would get in a struggle with a puke either.
Shoot the fuck when he is in your home. If he got shot in the back while fleeing the chances of having charges placed against you by some liberal moron DA go up a lot.
First thing, holler FREEZE (insert favorite cuss word here)
If they don’t freeze, shoot center mass…
Puke drops to the floor, squirms a bit then assumes room temperature…

A big Roger That Jonn! I am too old to scuffle with a young, adrenalin amped burglar. I WILL NOT let one get close enough to pound on my melon. Just will not happen! Yes I have a reluctance to kill as I think all normal folks do. But when it’s my family and me or them…there will be no debate and there will only be one story told…MINE!
I can’t figure out for the life of me how these guys with guns, get in a scuffle with someone thats certainly close enough to kill them with a knife or screwdriver…Only in Texas, I reckon.
Last B&E was in Texas, but the mofo didn’t get into a scuffle with me. One pump of my gauge, told him (or her) we weren’t gonna be dancing to the music they were offering…
The story does not say if homeowner was using a pistol or long gun. I would not let or me getting that close to be knifed or the old blunt object to the head. I be a old hurting fart. I would empty the mag or with a long gun show the punk the bayonet training I learned in Boot Camp. Butt thrust to the groin and then get mean. What I really would do is not chase him and just shoot him. Joe
