Friday morning feel good stories

| October 3, 2014

Today’s feel good story comes from Houston;

Police say the woman called out for her husband who then came out of the hallway shooting at the suspects. He missed. He fired at least once. "There have been strangers knocking on doors who do not have good intentions," a neighbor said. "There have been home invasions, there's been robberies; a lot of car theft and vandalism. There's been some crime in the neighborhood." Two of the armed intruders ran. The third suspect exchanged gunfire with the homeowner, firing at least once also. Somehow he managed to approach the armed homeowner and take his gun. That third suspect then fled with the other suspects in a blue car. Police say no one was shot and there were no injuries. blockquote>

Yeah, dude needs a lanyard, or he needs to learn how to line up a second shot.

Here’s another one from the Houston area;

Deputies said they detained a number of people in connection with the reported burglary. They are still searching for one other people who may have involved.

The Katy Independent School District tells Local 2 Morton Ranch Junior High, Morton Ranch Elementary, and Franz Elementary were in secure building mode while officers investigated. The schools began dismissing students just after 4 p.m.

Finally, a story from Knoxville from Chief Tango;

[Jeffery] Minor said he was in the bedroom when he heard a loud noise at the back door. He grabbed his shotgun and went to the back door where he saw a man kick in the door.

Fearing for his life, Minor says he fired a shot which struck the door. The suspect ran off, firing at least one shot at the house. He dropped his hat and his handgun.

During the investigation, officers say a man matching the suspect description showed up at Fort Sanders Hospital with a laceration above his eye and a gunshot wound to his arm.

Yeah, the first story doesn’t exactly make me feel good… the man lost his weapon to a dangerous felon, who now has at least two guns.
Second one almost makes up for it.

If you are going to shoot an intruder, keep on pulling the trigger til they go down or you have to reload.

Best advice on the subject ever:
Don’t shoot him till you think he’s dead. Shoot him till HE thinks he’s dead.

There is no replacement for range time and practice.
I still practice at home with an “unloaded” firearm…
Be careful my friends and carry if you are eligible to.
