On the Absurdity of Being Earnest

| October 3, 2014

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, speaking about the situation in Dallas:  there “are screening procedures in place at our border.”

Sure there are, Mr. Earnest – sure there are.  And the CDC folks in Dallas are working desperately to track down and monitor about 100 close contacts of a man who recently came to the US from Liberia as part of some readiness exercise, right?

Sheesh.   Compared to these guys, Baghdad Bob was as trustworthy as Lincoln.

Top Men.

Its so laughable, until you remember these experts are dicking around with the biological equivalent of plutonium.

Ex-PH2

Top men? Who?

Mark Lauer

No, it’s not. Plutonium has a half life of something like a zillion years.
The ebola virus doesn’t do well outside the body where the temp is a nice, cozy 98.6 degrees. Outside the body it dies quickly. And fever kills it (unfortunately fever also tends to kill the host). But rapid treatment can produce recovery. Of the cases in the United States so far, ALL victims have survived.

Farflung Wanderer

Do you think they just picked the guy because his last name was “Earnest”?

At this point, it seems rather plausible.

David

Better to do the screenings at THEIR borders

nbcguy54

How about another Earnest?

“Ya know what I mean Vern?”

I “earnestly” believe that Ernest P. Worrell would do a better job handling this situation than any of the Insane Clown Posse in the White House. After all, didn’t he save Christmas?

If you’re in Dallas and worried about Ebola. Get to Cowboy Stadium. No one ever catches ANYTHING there!

Guard Bum

Ahhhhh damn it, you owe me a keyboard!

GruntSgt

Ohhh, that’s a good one! We live west of Ft. Worth and I see they figured out a way to aerosol it in Dallas, WFAA had a picture of these clowns cleaning up the vomit on the sidewalk with a pressure washer.

Poetrooper

Sparks, since I’m an old Cowboys fan, that gave me a big laugh. Would you mind if I use that at another site?

Sparks

Poetrooper…You are more than welcome, since I borrowed it from someone else my friend. Have fun.

Mike Kozlowski

….Was just thinking – I’m wondering if the refusal to implement SERIOUS procedures on this doesn’t stem from somebody saying, “Look – we’ve BS’ed them for so long on everything else; if we actually do the right, competent thing now, they’ll panic!!”

I’m sure with my Army training I could help ‘ol Joshy out about borders, disease and such.
And for that matter his SFB boss, The Pied Piper.

A. Stop all travel to and from said continent of Africa.
B. Ask all other countries to do the same, since it becomes a vicious circle and no one is completely immune. NO. ONE.
C. All those who have flown in the last 30 days to restricted areas should self quarantine themselves for 30 days to insure no fever and therefore infection. Those with ANY symptoms should contact the CDC and be directed from there.
D. You’ve got to say FUCK PC and get this shit done, sir. It could be the one (cough) positive thing in your Presidency- Otherwise, you remain a bigger SFB, BF-ing, narcissistic asshole that I knew you were from the get-go.

Ex-PH2

The news report at noon said that WHO now estimates the infection rate at 3 people PER HOUR in Sierra Leone, alone.

There is no end to this stuff, is there?

Anyone up for dismal reruns of the Brit TV show ‘Survivors’?

Ex-PH2

Oh, guess what?!? Here’s an update on how many people it is now estimate will be sent
to west Africa to ‘fight’ ebola.

As I mentioned in my post, the rate of infection is now determine by WHO to be 3 PEOPLE PER HOUR in Sierra Leonoe, so someone please tell me WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE IN THE WHITE HOUSE THINKING?

OR ARE THEY THINKING AT ALL?

Richard

They are thinking. But like so many other things, they do it poorly.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”

They make plans based on flawed assessments of the opposition and flawed evaluation of their own abilities.

“No plan survives contact with the enemy.”

They are not checking to see if the plans they create are working. If they did that then they could see that the plan is not working and adjust.

I guess I am just restating the obvious.
