Joe Weeks facing investigation (Updated)
If you missed it in the comments this morning, this fellow, Joe Weeks, who we wrote about last month for embellishing his Air Force career, is being investigated for embezzling from his “Sons of Malta” charity fund according to Kalamazoo’s Channel 7 ;
Newschannel 3 has learned that the President of the group Sons of Malta, Joe Weeks, is being investigated by the FBI for claiming military honors he didn’t earn.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is also investigating Weeks for possible embezzlement.
Sons of Malta is a biker group that organized the memorial motorcycle ride for fallen Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Eric Zapata.
Until last month, the group was filled with police officers, firefighters, and veterans, until many abruptly left when the allegations surfaced.
Newschannel 3 has been digging into the case for days, and made some surprising discoveries.
We’ve gotten multiple tips about Weeks wearing fake military badges, and as we looked into that, we also uncovered that he is being investigated by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department for embezzling from his charity.
We found multiple websites dedicated to exposing what’s called Stolen Valor.
They included allegations that Weeks is wearing a fraudulent Silver Star, among other awards, that he didn’t earn. The Silver Star is a parachutist badge and para-rescue badge.
Um, Channel 7 we thank you for the exposure, but a Silver Star is a medal for valor, not a badge.

We’ve obtained the records from the Sons of Malta from this year showing Weeks made multiple trips to Firekeepers Casino, as well as a casino in Ohio.
They also show multiple checks paid by the club that bounced over the last few months.

Weeks tells us there was a power struggle within the Sons of Malta.
He says former members tried to take over, and when they couldn’t, he says they spread false accusations against him.

We reached out to the Attorney General’s office as well- to look into the status of the Sons of Malta and found that there is no record of them ever being a non-profit charity.

Weeks is frequently seen wearing a Silver Star and other badges, but when we looked into his military background we found no awards.
Weeks tells us he can prove those allegations are wrong. But when we asked he was not able to find his military paperwork.

Oh, and Dear News People, I don’t know the name of the charity, but you might want to check with your state’s Sec. of State’s office and the IRS to see if they are legally registered as a nonprofit.
It’s both.The main station is news 3.It’s sister channel is the CW 7.
And if the news is to be believed,as of this morning, it’s been put out there that the Sons of Malta is not a registered non profit.
And Joseph is being investigated by the FBI and Kalamazoo county Sheriffs dept,for embezzling funds from the Sons of Malta mortorcycle club,that was trying to operate as a non profit charity.But unfortunately their leader at large Jo Weeks Sr treated the funds as his personel gambling account
and rainy day pocket fund.
This man has solen over 3 million dollars from people in Kalamazoo, that he just bankrupted while serving 8- 20 for planting cocaine in his ex-wife car. You would think this asshole would have a clue.. Wonder if the people who’s money he took, know he is just living down the street from them again?.. Losser!

first of all, there are two news channels that are quoted here, CW7 and WWMT channel 3. But lets get to the more important part: I met Joe Weeks Sr and Jr several years ago. Sr has always been a scum ball, did prison time for planting drugs in his ex-wife’s car. Somehow as a convicted felon he got the State of Michigan to issue him a Paramedic license, EVERY paramedic should be upset about this. From day one that I met him I NEVER trusted him. I know several of the club’s members and could never understand how they could have trusted him. I don’t know how they, as paramedics, firefighters and police officers could not see through his BS. This was not “his” club, he was voted in as president, some how. As for the person who commented that his son is “a superstar in the fire service”, get over yourself and Joe Jr. He is a firefighter yes, and I have the utmost respect for fire fighters, but Jr is not a superstar. He is no better than any other fire fighter across this Nation. Quit buying into the Weeks family I AM GOD BS. Jr has spent time boasting and supporting his ‘wonderful’ dad and putting Sr up on a pedestal. This whole thing just makes me so angry, from Stolen Valor to embezzlement. Many members left the group shortly after he was voted in because they could see his BS and wanted no part of it. Weeks took advantage of the good heart and charity of many in the public service. I heard that the members in the club that were Police Officers and Fire Fighters left after Weeks began bringing in members he called “like minded”. Criminal element like himself. Weeks desires to be a 1% outlaw biker. I hope a real 1% club notes that Weeks wants their action. The club along with Weeks was in the news in Indiana even after being exposed by this site saying they gave $100,000 to a Cop with ALS. Weeks also embezzled from a children’s cancer organization. The current make up of the club has nothing to do with law enforcement, military, fire service… They should be considered thugs, dishonorable men, well armed and dangerous. They like to pose with Mac 90s, AKs, ARs Weeks and his crap bag of thugs should burn their colors and leave Michigan. No one wants them around or desires to ever have Weeks in charge of a charity. The only person to blame, is one man and his poor choice to screw a lot of good people.
