Weekend Sh*tbirdery

| September 7, 2014

I put these pictures up on our Facebook page so I brought them over for you sociopaths; The first claimed to be Sergeant Major Rahn of 2d Battalion 75th Rangers. AKO says that there is only one Richard Rahn and he’s a retired DA civilian. There’s a picture of him at AKO and he ain’t this guy;

Richard Rahn

Richard Rahn1

I don’t think a sergeant major would sew his Ranger Tab to his Blues either, or get the Bronze Star and Purple Heart out of order. But here is where they found him;

Fellow Minnesotans and family members in the Willmar / Montevideo area, there is an individual in the local area who is pretending to be a decorated Soldier and combat veteran. On August 9th, 2014, he showed up in this uniform at the Olivia, MN VFW for the KMS Memorial Ride. The individual stated that his name was Command Sergeant Major Richard Rahn of the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. The Army Ranger Association was contacted by a National Guard member who believes that he is a fake. There are several indications in these photos that indicate that he is a fake. He wears the uniform incorrectly with things sewn on a uniform where it is not authorized, wears numerous awards out of place and out of order (to include the Bronze Star and Purple Heart), and also has at least one badge that hasn’t been awarded since the Vietnam War (CIB with 2/stars). It is believed that he lives in Wilmer, MN. The Ranger Association checked with the Ranger Regiment and confirmed that they have no record of him ever belonging to the Regiment, nor is there a record that he served in the military. What was found is that this individual has a felony record in Florida. Pass the word to ensure nobody is scammed by this individual.

His records are easy to find, but they ain’t at NPRC;

000173993

And then there is this guy. So from now on the rest of you will have to show me your Sniper ID card before I believe you. And it’s his fault;

no blue disks behind his US and crossed rifles. Big blunder right there. CIB third award? Should have reined it in there smag and gone only for a second award. that beret looks like it was never shaped either, and I’ve know CSMs that would stoke out over less than a soldier wearing sunglasses on top of their head indoors.

Charlie Foxtrot

Was he even wearing highly polished jump boots with that uniform like any real Ranger would?

Andy

hmmm, bet he was wearing some low quarters

Charlie Foxtrot

Sounds like a very safe bet to me.

RayRaytheSBS

CSM’s dont wear blue cords or disks as far as I know. once you get the llZ MOS, you no longer wear the cord is what I was told.

I could be wrong, but it’s a package deal according to what I read in the AR and DA PAM. So regardless, he was wrong for not pulling the cord as well.

RayRaytheSBS

And where is his Airborne Background Trimming? If he is still actively serving in 2/75, he should have the flash behind his jump wings. The stupidity amazes me.

Andy

Ray I could be wrong, you would have to ask Hondo as he can quote straight from 670-1 (see his post below) But I believe that’s only if they are in a MOS immaterial duty position like say a DIV CSM. I believe down at the battalion level they would still wear their crossed rifles, cord and disks. The only time I can recall seeing one of my CSMs in A’s was at Christmas dinner in Korea, and I’m pretty sure he had on his cord and disks.

CWORet

Seriously Andy, that picture was what made me laugh. You could stroke out a BN of E9’s (pick any service) rolling up like that in ANY uniform. Glad he’s TAH famous now…

Charlie Foxtrot

OOOOH, a USMC Sniper ID Card, laminated no less. I haven’t seen a laminated Military ID card since my AD days in the early 90’s, and if he was a Ranger BN CSM, he’d have graduated from the Army Sniper School on Benning. I wonder if this critter will threaten to “lawer up” like some of the others? DAMN, will this one be on this year’s SV ticket, or will he be saved for next year?

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

Oh, it was laminated … UBER TOTALLY LEGIT!

teddy996

Hey now, I was still rocking a laminated ID in 2002. Made E5 on deployment in ’99 and the ship’s “new” ID printer was broke, so they dug out the old printer and I got an old school laminated ID.

I kept using it until the end of my enlistment just for the WTF looks I would get on the quarterdeck.

Had I known that they could make me a marine sniper, I would totally have gone on as many coffee runs as they required to get it.

1SG.Gimmie Some

Mine was issued in 24K gold plating!!! I was the baddest got-damned Navy Ranger SEAL around!!!

James

Back in about 92, I had an ID with a photo taken in the photo lab at the medical research facility I worked at. I took the photo to the post ID facility and they used it on my ID. The ID separated and they relaminated it instead of redoing it. When I went TDY to Korea in 94, I was held by the Korean military at the airport because they thought it was fake. It took several hours to confirm my ID and TDY orders. When I returned I had that damn thing redone.

ByrdMan

I doubt that the ID card pictured above is legit, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they did issue some kind of ID. Any real USMC sniper could tell us for sure.

When I completed the Marksmanship Instructor course they gave us an ID card saying we were bona fide instructors. No picuture just name, MOS (0931) and the date we graduated.

TacticalTrunkMonkey

I am an instructor in several things, Non-Lethal Weapons, MCMAP, Foreign Weapons, ect., however, the USMC has NEVER issued me an id card (laminated or otherwise) that told anyone anything. It is all recoreded in my Basic Training Record on MOL.

My wife saw this “Sniper ID card” and asked if it was real…it took me a bit to get my breath back after laughing so hard…Someone, please find this sh*tbird and kick him in the junk. TWICE!

TTM, out.

LT B

He should have a hog’s tooth, not a freaking badge. Sniper school doesn’t issue stinking badges!

Anonymous

Oooh, but it’s a “card”… just like my Clinton-era “Values Card” that ensured the bearer had values.

Old Grouch

Us IRR types get to rock the old school laminated cards still.

Combat Historian

WOW! I didn’t know the Gyrenes issued laminated ID cards to snipers; did they issued them to Force Recon guys too ? ///

Bangle99

Only FaceBook Force Recon guys get them.

Now that I’ve gotten to look at the closeup on my desktop, I noticed the toothpick sticking out of his mouth in the top photo as well as the five o’clock shadow in both, something a real CSM wouldn’t be caught dead with in a dress uniform.

I see him as 8TFU X 10!!

HS Junior

Sergeant Major Shitbag doesn’t always steal valor. But when he does, he steals all of it.

A Proud Infidel®™

The Service Stripes on his lower left sleeve denote thirty years of service and the stripes on the other denote two and a half years of overseas time. Did he claim to still be active? In most cases, retirement is mandatory at the thirty year mark. Love the sunglasses atop his head, I’ve yet to come across a CSM that wouldn’t “spazz” on a Troop for wearing them like that in ACU’s, let alone ASU’s!!

Andy

yea, I got a problem with the combat stripes too. Each one is supposed to denote 6 continuous months in a combat zone. Well, when I went through BNCOC, all the guys from the Rangers told me they were only deploying to A’stan for “short tours” usually in the 90 day range, going like gangbusters the whole time they were there, then coming back to rest and refit, then do it all again 6 months later. This was back in 2005, so my memory may be a bit hazy, but that’s what I remember. So, aint no way he’s going to sport that many combat stripes unless he did all that combat time (if he was real) with a airborne or light unit like the 82nd or 101.
Another detail that’s off, the sleeves of his dress shirt are not sticking out at the cuffs like they should. Also, the first picture of him tugging on his jacket, says to me he’s not used to wearing that uniform. Also, that dam lapel button makes him look like he’s part of the NYPD. Oh, and wearing a weapons qual badge with a Jacobs ladder is another give away, especially when it’s worn ahead of a qual badge like his Pathfinder badge

Hondo

Andy: overseas service bars recognize 6 months cumulative service in a combat zone. The combat zone service need not be continuous; service during multiple deployments may be combined to qualify for one overseas bar. See para 21-29.a.(15), AR 670-1, 31 Mar 2014.

Seven overseas bars is plausible, but would indeed be difficult for someone deploying 90 days at a time. They’d have had to deploy 14 or 15 times during the past 13 years.

Andy

Well there ya go. That’s what I get for always believing what I was told and not reading the reg for myself.

Hondo

Had to look it up myself to be sure, Andy. Thought I remembered reading that time for overseas bars was cumulative – but I’ve had my memory betray me many times before.

19D1OR4 - Smitty

There are 7 stripes so by my reckoning that is 3.5 years not 2.5. His OSR is also in completely the wrong spot and he has it in among his medals.

A Proud Infidel®™

You’re right, I stand corrected. Couple that with what Andy said, and it’s another checkmark in the “BOGUS” column!

AW1Ed

Dammit! If only I hadn’t left my AIRLANT NATOPS Blue Card stuck to a wall in a certain bar in Lajas, I could’a been a contender too!

AW1 Tim may know the place….

Eric

As a Senior NCO, I always kind of hope that I’ll run into a shmuck like this, but I never seem to. Its a shame really.

I’m sure I’d end up telling him to just give me the jacket and walk away, or there will be trouble.

Oh, the sunglasses on top of the head was the first thing I noticed too. No F’n way.

A Proud Infidel®™

Another poser that ought to be forced to attend a Ranger Rendezvous on Ft. Benning and parade in his getup among real Rangers with NO cameras, recorders, or outside witnesses around. I have no doubt that there are plenty of real Rangers, past and present that would gladly tease his face off a and use it for ass paper over his con game!! Is it just me, or does he really look like he’s at least three fourths ready to shit his drawers in the second pic?

19D1OR4 - Smitty

I think we should round up all of these “Rangers, SF, SEALs” etc and throw them in a C-130 with a bunch of T-10D’s. Tell them they have 5 minutes to get situated before we started shoving them out the door. Then see how long it is before every single one of them capitulates.

A Proud Infidel®™

I’m sure they’d shit their pants and run before they even got near the aircraft!!

Pam

Please don’t do that to my beloved C-130. How ’bout a C-5. More room in one of those anyway 🙂

A Proud Infidel®™

Nothing would happen to your beloved bird, they would “Shit & Run” before they even got near any aircraft unless one of them had just gorged on a large block of cheese!!

Pam

Point taken. Thanks!

nbcguy54

At least he chose to be a CSM instead of a lowly SGM. But at least a SGM would know that an ARCOM is higher in precedence than an AAM.
I’m with you Eric. I never run into “full-blowns” like this. The best I seem to get is the occasional NG private wearing his cover in Wal*Mart.

Hack Stone

Is he considered to be FirsTech material?

Charlie Foxtrot

Definitely APL material!!

Green Thumb

Roger that.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

APL or the Ferguson PD whoever happens to be hiring right now….

Freddie

The Marine Corp sniper took down the pic of his Certified Sniper ID but not the pic of his other laminated ID card… the kind that “are only issued to applicants who are citizens of and residents in Mexico.” http://websta.me/p/536649202183035979_250896910

Tman

Like a broken record, every day yet another phony.

It’s getting WORSE, not better.

A Proud Infidel®™

I shudder when I wonder just what we’ll see next, as well as what degree of fucktardery we will see!

Charlie Foxtrot

He definitely has more hair than brains when he’s wearing that uniform! I wonder what he’s trying to get in this con game of his?

YankeeJim

Money and public support

B Woodman

Per the third pic, he should be behind the counter at Mickey Dee’s, asking, “Would you like Frias with that order?”

Someone had to go there.

Charlie Foxtrot

I think he looks like someone who couldn’t even mop the kitchen without hurting himself, much less cooking!

Old Trooper

Holy Fuckaroni!!!!! I have personally seen the SGM!! Out at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery when I was visiting my F-I-L’s grave. He was all dressed up just like the pic. I wasn’t close enough to see all the bling, but he had on the same sunglasses on top of his bald melon and I could see all the salad running up and down the left side. It was last Fall around Thanksgiving.

Now I’m really pissed.

DefendUSA

Holy cow!!! The laminated ID makes me laugh. What is WRONG with these idiots???

Anonymous

They need to go ask some drinking high school kids about the latest in fake IDs…

1SG.Gimmie Some

Another wannabe, he just doesn’t know how much of a DOUCHE NOZZLE he looks like! I’m going to knock the next poser ball-licker I see out cold! I’m ready, screw the consequences !!

A Proud Infidel®™

You and me both, Top!!

Doc Savage

Willmar Minnesota huh?

This shitbird is about an hour from me……

I will take great pleasure in spreading his fame among my friends in the community.

Old Trooper

look me up, Doc, if you want some company, when you go. Ask Jonn for my info. I’m about an hour and a half SE of Willmar.

Charlie Foxtrot

Hmmmmm, dare I say WANTED POSTER??!

LastBrotherHome

The CSM is actually committing stolen valor on two accounts. The obvious one is pretending to be a soldier. The less obvious one is being a family member of a fallen soldier, as indicated by the lapel pin he is wearing on his left lapel. Unless he is the sibling of a fallen soldier in Vietnam, or son of one who was killed in Korea/WWII, he is taking away respect from those who have truly lost people to conflict. Both offend me to the core, because unfortunately I am those things, a combat vet of OIF with pride in my service, and a sibling of a fallen soldier of the same conflict. If I were closer, I would confront him about both things for which he is taking valor and respect from those who have earned and deserve it.

GDContractor

The LEGIT Marine Sniper ID in the name of Jose Frias was posted by this guy on instagram, not saying they are one in the same although they might be.
http://websta.me/n/jr_frias
here’s the Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/raul.frias.jr?fref=ts
He’s the founder of Happy Trigger Operators.

GDContractor

Same guy. He’s a paintball wizard.
http://websta.me/p/536649202183035979_250896910

Green Thumb

Makes me think of that turd, Angel Gomez.

B Woodman

“He’a a paintball wizard,
With such a supple wrist. . . . ”

Someone had to go there/

JohnE

Ohh dude…dont drag the Who into this mess… 🙂

Hondo

I don’t think his wrist got so supple from paintball . . . .

ArmyATC

I don’t know if it’s the same person. There is a resemblance. Even if they aren’t, this Raul Frias character appears to be telling people he served at one time. And he definitely wants people to think he was or is some kind of “operator.” In the third pic someone asks of him, “this was your post service work ? Or during your time in?”

http://websta.me/n/jr_frias

GDContractor

Yeah I don’t know… I think the picture of his border crossing card looks almost 100% like the photo in the Marine Sniper card. http://websta.me/p/536649202183035979_250896910
You know, if you present that Marine Sniper ID card at SubWay, Alex will make you a sammich to kill for.

ArmyATC

Those two are a very close resemblance. I’d bet Jose Frias and Raul Frias are one and the same. Id also bet that he has zero time in the military and has been bullshitting people for awhile now, especially those paintball “operators.” This wouldn’t be the first paintball hero who’s been outed here.

GDcontractor

Look at the name on the Border crossing I’d card. Jose Raul Fries Garza. Name on sniper card is Jose R. Fries. His Instagram handle is Jr_fries but he posts as Raul. My money says they are the same. Take a close look at the sniper card that Jonn posted up above…@ upper LH corner above the photo itself.

ArmyATC

Seems pretty obvious that they are the same person.

Green Thumb

We need to bring in our resident expert on this subject: Cody Stermer.

Green Thumb

A truly “Phildoesque” dude.

ATerminalLanceCoolie

I’m pretty sure none of the guys I know who went through Scout-Sniper School got a wierd ID. Then again, I did get a spiffy cert card (with shitty pic) after I went through the helo dunker, saying I was IPHABD certified. I’ll ask around. I know a few guys from the 1/1 SSP.

ATerminalLanceCoolie

And that’s a negative. In fact, I about got run off my Facebook page for asking. Mr. “Frias with that?” is just as full of shit as the rest of them.

Turds.

ArmyATC

Here’s where the turd got the card.

http://www.uspystore.com/marine-sniper-id-card.html

A Proud Infidel®™

Yeah, that’s it. Thankfully, I had an empty mouth when I read the customer reviews on it, talk about having an urge to reach through the Internet and THROATPUNCH someone!!

ArmyATC

I wrote a review stating that only phonies and liars would ever purchase something like that card. Any bets about the review being published?

Charlie Foxtrot

No bet from me!

Fen

I was a Schools NCO for 2D Light Armored Recon Battalion (LAV-25s), 2D Marine Division. From about 1993-97.

We sent our scouts to Sniper School, usually 4 quotas per class. Lots of pre-qual work to be sure our guys didn’t wash out. Lots of paperwork too.

Nothing about a Scout Sniper ID from any of the guys that made it through.

ChipNASA

Looks like Mr Richard Arthur Rahn got tossed int he pokie on Tuesday for violation of being a felon with weapons. They’re also investigating his multiple Stolen Valor incidents.

Great news! One down, many others to go…
