Sunday morning feel good stories

Police line

Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories again this morning. The first is from Michigan where a fellow broke into someone’s house and made himself a nest on the couch;

“According to the homeowner, he tried to wake the suspect up, who then became belligerent and combative,” Reiss said. “A struggle ensued over the firearm with the owner discharging one round from the firearm.”

The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics from Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services.

Names are not being released at this time, but Reiss said the male suspect is believed to be in his early 20’s and is not a Greenville resident.

Reiss said officers were in the area during the time of the shooting because they had been called by a neighbor in response to the same suspect.

According to Reiss, the homeowner at 303 W. Grove St. stated that the suspect had also attempted to enter that residence.

“We had been called a short time earlier about a man who had been running around nude in the area and we had officers around looking for him,” he said. “As officers were searching for the suspect, they heard the gunshot from within the home.”

The next story comes from Texas;

Police say a man had parked his white van at the gas pump and walked inside to store to pay for his gas. When he walked back out, he saw someone rummaging through his van.

When the owner confronted the suspect, the burglar got back inside his SUV and tried to run the victim over in the parking lot. The victim then pulled out a handgun and shot the suspect at least twice, making him lose control of his SUV.

One goblin has assumed room temperature, one less punk the taxpayers will have to feed, clothe & house, and one unknown. Maybe some of these goblins might wake up and realize that since more and more people carry firearms these days, a quick buck might not be worth their lives?

A naked couch man story this early in the morning? Who knew?

Hey, he was just cold and wanted a warm place to stay when the snow flies. He would have left in the spring.

Well, I don’t care where you live. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOORS UNLOCKED, PERIOD.

And for pete’s sake, ALWAYS lock your car doors, even if you’re driving in broad daylight. Have none of you seen those videos of people who drive up next to your car and sneak out of their car, just to steal whatever you left in yours? NEVER leave your car doors unlocked, and dammit, take the keys with you! I learned that in high school.

Thank you, best and most simple advice that would stop a lot of these events. People around here are remiss to lock their doors in the daytime. I find that dangerous. Many crimes of home invasion happen in daylight when the criminal thinks the home is unoccupied. Also when many women are home alone or with the kids.

Notes:

1. Unknown and agressive naked man on my couch … My articulation will be very clear immediately. One shot minimum.

2. Man in vehicle. Shoot the man, not the vehicle. 2 shots minimum, I high and I low.

Nothing further.

“suspect is believed to be in his early 20’s and is not a Greenville resident.” He’s not a resident of anywhere now. Residency infers life, and he does not have any now. To paraphrase Epicurious, “He was not, he was, he is not, I don’t care.”.

Roger-my curiosity has gotten the best of me-you don’t have to answer, but the “in Republic” part doesn’t by any chance refer to Republic Mo does it? I was born and raised in Springfield is why I was wondering…
