So Just Why Is John Kerry Secretary of State?
Did not anyone in the Obama administration give any consideration to how the rest of the world might perceive John Kerry as the anointed representative of our nation’s views before they sent him out there to screw up all the rest of those things Hillary didn’t? Did they not suppose that intelligence agencies around the world charged with the responsibility of rooting into the most intimate details of the lives, careers and loyalties of American leaders and diplomats with whom their leaders may have to interact, could have missed the salient and salacious details of John Kerry’s bizarre background?
Anyone want to wager that the North Vietnamese don’t have amplified tapes of every single word of their unauthorized negotiations with young Jean Fraud in the Paris Peace Accords when he was eagerly flushing his country down Parisian toilettes to further his own political ambitions? And of course, having America’s best interests at heart, those wiley Asian communists would never, ever trade that possibly advantageous information with any other government inimical to American diplomatic interests, now would they? Oh, of course not.
And surely, none of the countries our clueless Obama has dispatched his ethically emasculated emissary out to treat with has ever compiled a dossier on this self-promoting turncoat, have they? Surely they took no note of the his political opportunism when he leveraged four months of highly dubious combat experience in Vietnam to first denounce his fellow American warriors as war criminals, then years later, used that very same experience to report for duty as the presidential nominee of the political party that seems to have a strange affinity for Jane Fonda type traitors. Nah, those foreigners wouldn’t pick up on that crass hypocrisy now would they?
Likewise, they surely paid no attention to the fact once exposed by his fellow sailors as a phony, glory-seeking opportunist, the presidential candidate blustered mightily that he would open his military records to the world while threatening legal action against those who were flaying his phony combat records into shreds. But then, post-election, he shrank quietly into the political swamp of lost campaigners and his blusters became but faint bubbles in the leftist media.
Truth is John Kerry has never to this day opened his records nor has he sued anyone. He likely had the best defamatory damages case of any plaintiff in the history of jurisprudence, the loss of the most powerful office in the world. Except for the troublesome reality that truth is a rock solid defense against such a defamatory tort action and John knew those Swift Boat guys had truth on their side. Also, it has been speculated that he did not want the public to see that he may have been issued a less than honorable discharge for his traitorous activities in treating with the North Vietnamese in Paris when he was a junior reserve naval officer, a discharge later commuted to honorable by Jimmy Carter as part of his broad amnesty for Vietnam draft-dodgers. No, those foreign intelligence agencies surely wouldn’t have included that information in their assessments of this man’s possible weak points and vulnerabilities at any negotiations table would they?
And lastly, we can rest assured that those nations around the globe wondering and assessing just what weaknesses may be exploitable in negotiating with the once-mighty United States, would never, ever give any thought to the personal vanity of a man who in his seventh decade would completely restructure his physiognomy by expensive, artificial means like some aging Hollywood diva praying to stay lively and lovely in the limelight. And then of course lie about the obvious fact that such surgery occurred. But then there is one advantage to America: Sitting across a negotiating table from John Kerry, how are you going to read that face unless you’re a plastic surgeon? But seriously, they couldn’t possibly attribute such a significant personal decision to an excessive vanity and immaturity that could offer them any advantage in sophisticated foreign intelligence operations now could they?
Think about all the above and the consider that the Obama administration and the Democrat party actually feel comfortable that this very flawed, dishonest and contemptible man is the best they can put forward to represent and negotiate our nation’s best interests around this globe. If you’ve never thought about this before, trust me, the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, the North Koreans, Al Qaeda and every other entity out there with interests opposite our own certainly have been devoting huge intelligence resources to determine how best to manipulate this bumbling gift America has presented them. The Democrat party may not care what kind of incompetent charlatans they put forward to represent our nation in this troubled world, but our enemies most assuredly do. With an indolent, inept and clueless community organizer in the White House and a frozen-faced, phony war hero/gigolo and tax cheat out there as his sock puppet, why do you think the once respected America is being mocked and disrespected around the world?
So just why the Hell is John Kerry our Secretary of State?

Perhaps the Obama Regime has a sense of humor.
A sick sense of humor, but humor nevertheless.
Lurch is in that job for one reason – Obama has him in his back pocket and can be counted on to do what Obama says. That is the only reason any of them are there. Lurch will fall on his sword on command if need be.
Who else is easier to blame if things go sour?
Plastic surgery, huh? I thought so, but wasn’t sure. He looks more and more like someone hit him in the face with the backside of a shovel. Close enough for government work.
He is self-funded (or Teresa-funded), which makes him easily electable, and he will say any ol’ damn thing he’s told, because he never has bothered to educate himself or attend all those boring briefings in the past.
He fits in perfectly with the Obama administration and the Pelosi wing of the Democratic Party at the national level. They like useful idiots.
Who could have predicted this? It’s not like there was any evidence that he was a major pud-whack. “Jenjiss Con”
“Man that ball got outta here in a hurry. I mean anything travels that far oughta have a damn stewardess on it, don’t you think? ”
Congratulations to the author on a solid home run. Never have I seen so many logical assertions about Lurch confined to so few words. I humbly stand in awe.
Out of genuine curiosity, what Democrat would any of you like for SECSTATE? It’s almost certain the President would pick a Democrat, and probably a high profile one, so… who would appeal to conservatives with those constraints?
James Webb?
It hadn’t occurred to me before, but he’s a really good choice, yes. Thanks.
Not sure about that, David. Webb might be a reasonable choice for SECDEF, but as far as I know he’s got virtually no background in foreign relations or diplomacy.
I don’t believe he does either, but he has pretty broad experiences, has shown himself to be fairly thoughtful and at least speaks another language. I just feel that some ability to speak with and understand another culture helps with the mindset I’d like of someone for SECSTATE. Maybe I’m setting the bar low here given I have no love for Kerry.
There are career Foreign Service officers who speak multiple languages are have truckloads of experience with diplomacy and management, but for whatever reasons -visibility?- we generally pass over them.
well, to be blunt, more like anti-diplomacy… but he is one of the few ‘Democrats’ I have ANY trust in. The question was who could appeal to conservatives, too.. and that he can do.
Not sure I agree with your assumption, LC. It’s not unprecidented for cabinet secretaries to be from the other party. In fact, 2 of the last 3 SECDEFs were Republicans. Ditto at least one SECDEF during the Clintoon administration.
Competence matters far more than party affiliation. Or it should, anyway.
You may be correct, though I fear two factors make it less likely, recent history aside – one, things seem more polarized into party politics recently, and two, I feel SECDEF is a bit different than SECSTATE due to the (broad) ways the Democrats and Republicans tend to view the role of the military vs. the role of diplomacy.
I wholeheartedly agree that competence should matter more than party affiliation, but for the already incompetent people in Washington, that’s probably a terrifying thought.
Henry Cuellar, a moderate-centrist democrat with great credentials and a level head. His story is the perfect story of immigration in the US, his parents were migrant workers with 5th grade educations and Rep. Cuellar has several degrees including a PhD. He is capable of bi-partisanship with a strong relationship with Rick Perry from Texas and Rep. Cuellar understands the immigration situation and has been openly critical of the President’s inability to manage that crisis.
Cuellar would be far better than Kerry, both as an American and as a human….
There are many other Democrats I can respect even if I disagree with them, unlike others I don’t automatically hate a Democrat. Actions mean more than party to me, even if I disagree with you as long as your position is consistent I respect your right to attempt to make this a better nation by heading in a different direction than I would choose.
I have come to disregard the constant us vs them from both parties, and have started to try and find those working legislators who have a history of across the aisle compromise and collaboration. Those legislators will get my support and where applicable my money and vote. The others who feel it’s win or lose at all costs and to hell with the other side are the root cause of this nation’s difficulties.
Rat bastards like John Kerry who put self above nation every single time they had to make that choice don’t deserve to be seated at the table where the grownups are supposed to be making decisions about running the nation and securing our place on the world stage.
Thanks, I’ll definitely have to read up on Cuellar. Bi-partisan, multi-cultural and first-hand experience with the immigration issues sounds like one hell of a good start for the SECSTATE position.
And I’m in full agreement with you on everything else you say, too. Thanks again.
Well, how about this guy? (No, not the actor playing him.) I think he was a Democrat way back when. And the foreign policy he proposes makes sense to me. (smile)
I think you know my stance on “crushing your enemies”….
Napalm was invented for a reason, it’s incomprehensible it was retired so soon…
Of course not John, this administration did not consider ANY of those points when they appointed him. Just like they fail to consider any consequences to any of the other disastrous decisions they have made up to now. Combined with an attitude of the end justifies the means – this administration is a epic failure. The boy king has surrounded himself with fools who only offer a fools advice. One can only pray that none of the SCOTUS seats become available until after 2016 – we may survive this administration, but the constitution could not survive another liberal sitting on the court….
My apologies to Poetrooper – he wrote this and I forgot to credit him when I published this. Sorry for any confusion I might have caused. I’m no former Senator John Walsh.
“What difference does it make?”
Maybe it is because a chunk of the Heinz money went into an offshore account for someone who shall remain nameless.
I’ve had some time to think about this question, and here’s a logical answer.
In the Middle Ages, the crown prince of a kingdom was punished for misbehavior by proxy. Some unfortunate peasant child stood in his place for that purpose, and when the crown prince needed a whipping, the peasant got it. He was called the whipping boy.
I figure bumblebrain chose sKerry Lurch here because he doesn’t like being blamed for his stupid mistakes, so he can palm all that blame off on sKerry, especially since Iraq will become a thorn in his precious hide. Everything that goes wrong with US foreign policy will be blamed on sKerry.
sKerry was chosen to be the whipping boy for this administration, so that Hillary can hug it out with bumblebrain and get the slate wiped clean. Watch the next few weeks. Lurch may be bolstered with plastic and botox, but I’d bet his hide is actually fairly thin.
So, in other words . . . Kerry got snookered by the POTUS.
Sounds plausible to me.
Yup. Can you hear me giggling?
I definitely see ‘ol Lurch as B. Hussein 0bama’s whipping boy, and he’s just as capable of fucking things up as bad as B-HO himself, he started off as a shallow snotnosed Northeastern Blueblood with a silver spoon up his ass and a trust fund as well as the money he married into! He’s full of hypocrisy as well, just look at when he was caught docking his lavish yacht in RI to dodge paying the MA Luxury Tax on it while telling us everyday working peasants that we need to have more of our income confiscated (*OOPS, taxed ). I hope he stays out in the sun too long and melts!
Well, of course we can’t see the whole picture. We can’t even see Obama’s High School transcript, let alone a birth certificate!
(Spoiler: I did better than him in my sleep. How can I tell? You only hide a transcript when you sucked)
This old dog learned long ago the wisdom of that truth my parents taught me: Always consider the source. With that in mind I followed Michael Lon Richardson, who gave me such a scathing review on this piece, back to his source:
https://www.facebook.com/michael.l.richardson.39
As I said, consider the source.
Now that was a very well written piece. I am glad TAH has the circulation it does. Preaching to the choir? Hardly. We are a very diverse bunch, which makes for great comments. Rock on.
