Steele is my choice to head RNC

Gateway Pundit has the video of Michael Steele announcing his candidacy for the RNC chair on Hannity and Colmes last night.

I can’t think of a better choice for the chairman of the Republican National Committee. As Lt Governor of Maryland, he and Governor Ehrlich slashed spending and turned over a surplus to the O’Malley administration (which spent the surplus and raised taxes within seven months). That’s the kind of leadership the Republican Party needs. From everything I can tell, Steele is a true conservative and he’s suffered the slings and arrows from the race-baiting Democrats and he’s still in the game – that says something about the strength of his character. Right up there with Sarah Palin.

Steele told the Washington Post;

“After two devastating election cycles, the party has reached a crossroads,” said Steele, who compared the Republican Party to someone who has “hunkered down” in a corner with no real idea how to get out. “I think I may have some keys to open the door, some juice to turn on the lights,” he added.

The most important trait he exhibits is he recognizes that when we run as Conservatives, as a unified party, we win elections. We need experienced new blood running the party and Michael Steele is it.

(By the way, I’m not that short, Steele is just that tall)
