Shinseki won’t leave, Democrats won’t vote

| May 22, 2014

Chief Tango sends us a link to the Washington Post in which they report that Shinseki has no plans to leave his post at the Veterans’ Affairs Department;

“I came here to do one thing: Which is to take care of veterans and families. We’ve run hard for five years, I think we have good things to show for it, there’s more to be done,” he said.

VA officials began a nationwide audit of facilities this week and Shinseki said the review is “about halfway through.” He expects to be able to present Obama with some initial findings by next week.

Asked if he had offered his resignation to Obama, Shinseki said: “No. You guys know me better than that.”

Yeah, well, the only people he has taken care of is VA employees, VA employees that the Democrats in the Senate want to protect, too. Yesterday, the House sent a bill to the Senate that would make it easier for Shinseki to clean house at the VA, but, according to the Washington Free Beacon, Democrats blocked Marco Rubio’s request that they vote on the Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act (which passed the House in a bipartisan vote of 390 to 33) immediately, but the Senate Democrats would rather dither;

Senator Bernie Sanders, a union-backed socialist from Vermont, objected on behalf of Senate Democrats to Rubio’s request. Instead of taking any action now, Sanders said he is going to hold a hearing—several weeks from now.

Sanders, who chairs the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, has been one of the most outspoken defenders of the VA against allegations of misconduct. When asked about reports of multiple deaths related to long wait times at the VA healthcare system, Sanders told CNN: “People die every day.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) on Thursday offered a lukewarm assessment of the House-passed legislation, describing it as “not unreasonable.”

Yeah, it is no surprise that Shinseki thinks that he can keep his job since the politicians have his back. I guess enough veterans haven’t died yet, so Shinseki still has work to do. Maybe if they can stretch this out long enough, Americans will move on to the next shiny object and they can put this one in the ‘win’ column, too, while no one is paying attention. Incompetent boobery wins again.

Shinseki said the review is “about halfway through.” ALREADY! A report to the president by NEXT WEEK! Now that’s what I call a thorough investigation. Of maybe having your car checked over at the dealer. But for the entire VA system, don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining!

Also, “Sanders told CNN: “People die every day.” Acute observation there you dick head! Maybe if we weren’t talking about veterans being KILLED by the inadequate VA healthcare system they have to depend on I would agree. What a waste of space on this planet and good air Sanders’ is taking up! What an inappropriate, inhuman, lack of caring statement that was! So we know where Sanders and the Democrats stand on veteran deaths caused by the VA. The same place they stand on AD dying in combat…NOTHING!!!

And Harry, the spineless, Reid I won’t even speak to! Sanders spoke for him already.

Why is the ability to shitcan bad employees a bad thing?

“At this point, what does it matter?”
“People die every day.”

See how that works?

This is what Obama care will turn into.

Put Mr. Shinseki’s head on a pike in front of VA headquarters. In a black beret, of course. Next to his pike, the heads of every VA hospital chief that is involved in this scam. Now, promote the next in line to every chief position, with a simple OPORD: Unfuck this.

SFC D, I agree completely. I would only add to the sign, “Or else this will be you next”!

I love it. How delightfully medieval!! Make sure the beret is made in Red China.

One more example of “the war is over, veterans go fuck yourselves”. If any of these assholes still have jobs after November, then this country deserves whatever comes next.

“People die every day”. I wonder if fucking Bernie Sanders would be so cavalier if his ass depended on the VA for health care. I would love to drive to Vermont and whip his old ass but gas prices are too goddamn high due to 6 years of incompetence.

This is going to go away. The media is going to lose interest soon. Then it will be back to business as usual. Shinseki will not lose one minute of sleep over the veterans he has allowed to die on his watch and Obama and his minions will blame Bush and then get back to their full time job of destroying this country.

Here’s a quick read from our own OWB who occasionally posts at Admiral Zero’s blog. Like the rest of us, she is tired of the bureaucratic (What’s the word? Oh yeah…) BULLSHIT at the VA and the I-am-mad-and-that-should-placate-all-of-you response from The Emperor. OWB suggests we kick butt and clean house at the DVA. She’s had enough. So have we. Anyway, I like her suggestions and I like them a lot, even if, as she recognizes, it would take multiple acts of Congress and a chief executive who actually cares to implement some of them. I have twice tried to post this but, for some reason–probably related to the link–it won’t take. So, access to Zero ‘s blog will take a Google. It will be the first hit if you Google “anothervoice zero” exactly that way, without the quotation marks.

Well screw him and the people of the state of Vermont that continue to vote him into office.
