More Secret Service Issues? Sure Looks Like It
We’ve written more than once before here on TAH about issues with the US Secret Service (previous articles can be found here and here and here). Well, it looks like there’s another issue or two now coming to light.
It seems as if agents assigned to duties protecting the POTUS were on multiple occasions diverted to another task. Specifically, they appear to have been sent to check on the “well being” of the Director’s assistant, who “was being harassed by her neighbor.”
For a period of time, agents were sent twice a day to a small town in SE Maryland roughly and hour’s drive from the White House. Agents involved
. . . . thought the reassignment was a potentially illegal use of government resources. They were concerned enough about their own liability that they kept records of their involvement and their superiors’ instructions.
In at least one case, agents were diverted from an assignment patrolling the Ellipse shortly before the POTUS was to depart the White House via helicopter. Such times are periods of enhanced White House security.
When reached for comment, the former US Secret Service Director involved – Mark Sullivan
. . . . said through a spokesman that he did not personally order the 2011 checks on his assistant’s home and that a supervisor in his office authorized the visits. He said that he learned of the checks after they began and that to his knowledge, they were done for just a few days and were “appropriate.”

Think the Holder-led Justice Department will actually investigate this case thoroughly? And maybe even hold someone criminally liable for misuse of government resources?

It is like at the circus when the clown car stops and an unending string of clowns get out. Nothing but clowns, as far as the eye can see….
The FBI and Secret Service that our fathers knew… is not the FBI and Secret Service of today. And that goes for the military as well.
The same can be said for cops. I had family growing up that were cops. They saw the writing on the wall and gtfo.
So a neighbor trouble complaint, said complaint being on a par with a barking dog call in most PD’s, requires the dispatch of a couple of Secret Service agents. Over the time span of a couple of months? Twice a day? An hour’s drive away?
And, as MGySgt said, does anyone in this so-called administration have even the slightest fucking clue as to what they’re doing?
No. No one. Not one.
According to the Secret Service webpage (http://www.secretservice.gov/mission.shtml) the mission statement of the Secret Service is:
The mission of the United States Secret Service is to safeguard the nation’s financial infrastructure and payment systems to preserve the integrity of the economy, and to protect national leaders, visiting heads of state and government, designated sites and National Special Security Events.
Now if someone can tell me how an assistant is a “national leader or visiting head of state,” I would pay them $1.00.
The Secret Service overstepped their mission and arguably their authority.
Someone – and I don’t care who – needs to go over this.
If an assistant is having issues, call the police or better yet, pay for Wackenhut Guards on their dime – not the taxpayers’.
I hear that AmbassadorWorldwide Protective Servicescsuddenly has a few slots open on their calendar. That is, unless they signed that contract All Points Logistics.
