Tuesday morning feel good story
CavRick sends us a feel good story to enjoy with our coffee this morning, this time it’s from North Carolina where 70-year-old David Seaton encountered 26-year-old Amy Marie Mabes while she was cleaning out his garage;
Seaton then confronted the suspect, who hit Seaton in the head with a glass and metal lantern, said investigators.
Despite bleeding from his head, Seaton caught Mabes and held her down until authorities arrived, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies immediately arrested Mabes and found stolen jewelry and coins on her, said investigators. The suspect’s home is about a mile from the victim’s residence, and deputies believe she traveled on foot.
Mabes has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, and possession of burglary tools
Amy Marie is currently rotting in a cell with a $40,000 bond over her head. No guns, but the same desired effect.

Unfortunately, no, not the same desired effect. The desired effect would be to have the po-po need call the ambulance to pick up the corpse.
Bingo! Now we have to waste money on court cost and prison. Could have just been an autopsy and some report writing.
A 70 year old overcomes a 26 year old. Even if it was a woman, I say don’t mess with us old folks.
I laugh when I read something like this. If some young woman can’t out fight a 70 year old man, how can a woman out fight a wanna be martyr in hand to hand combat? Yes, yes, I know “crazy old man strength”, but still.
NC doesn’t have a battery on an elderly person charge or some type of elder abuse law? I mean, they hit her with some serious stuff AND she got her ass kicked by an old man, but still…
