Nathan Scott Fornwalt; the records

| March 21, 2014

We first wrote about Nate Fornwalt back in January when Chief Shipley told about how he pretended to be a wounded veteran in order to scam a couple of thousand bucks out of a 13-year-old who was selling lemonade to help local veterans. he’s been playing the forlorn wounded veteran on the edge of a breakdown for a few year in the local media – you’ll see it if you Google his name or click the link above. Chief Shipley got an expedited FOIA from the folks at NPRC. Mary just got his DD214;

Fornwalt DD214

It looks like he was in Iraq with 4 bronze service stars (not to be confused with the Bronze Star Medal), but there are no Purple Hearts (he claimed he had three for wounds) and there’s no Combat Action Ribbon. He has a year and 9 months of “foreign service” and another year and a month of “sea service”. So we knew all of this before, now we have the documents.

This should also serve as a reminder that, until the first of next month, TAH is raising money to make up for what Nate stole from Matt Ott, the teen who raised the money through his own hard work and his community’s support. We’ve raised a good portion of the money, but we’re still a smidge short. You can give through Paypal at the link above (right) or you can mail your money to my home address at the “Contact Us” link in the header. I’m also tossing in a few hundred bucks that some of you gave me earlier in the month before we started this as well as all of the advertising money I got for this month.

Like I said before, Matt has already decided who the new beneficiaries will be. One is a veteran with kids, the other is his local Gold Star Mothers’ organization. I’ll be sending checks directly to them from your money – however much that turns out to be.

An admirable service record wrecked with lies and fraud. I don’t understand it. What drives these turds?

How close are we the amount for the young man? How short are we?

CWORet

Shit, why is this the first I’m hearing of this? Whatev. PayPal away.

Oh, and Nate, I hope and pray that something wicked your way comes…

And a fucking EX marine too. Yea, that’s capital EX and lowercase m. Med retired 15 year Sgt, busted from Staff. Gettin’ your checks right on time too, aint’cha. Someone has to know what he was busted down for. Inquiring minds want to know. Bet it involved another deployed Marine’s wife given this fucker’s integrity.

Sean0302

Damn straight on the capital EX for this waste of sperm Gunner. He is an embarrassment. Several people have asked me why I care about stolen valor since it is a victimless crime. I try to put stories like this in front of them to make them understand

Michael Holowecki

What ‘victimless’? What are all those headstones representing then?

Last Duty Station was Wounded Warrior Bn East Camp Lejuene. Can’t let that fool you though, because anyone who gets messed up gets sent there.
Would like to see his unit assignments, 13 months of sea duty sounds like 2 floats with a MEU. 21 months foriegn Duty could be 2 tours of Iraq or a mixture of Iraq, Afghanistan or Okinawa..
Not saying hes legit but 11 years in, 33 months deployed as a Grunt with no Combat documented Sounds fishy.

I was there for combat related injuries let me tell you that everyone gets sent there liked sprained ankle on pt run marines to marines that were in dui on there own actions to get behind the wheel drunk I did love the treatmeant I got from the wwbn east but it’s not what what it was designed for anymore orginally for OIF OEF combat injured marines every gets a ticket there now all you have to do is roll an ankle or get in to a car accident hey and I’ve been out since 2009 things may have changed but u doubt it I remember when president Obama came to Lejeune only one or two combat related marines got to go meet him the rest non combat related injures which is sad because that’s what that WWBN EAST was meant for I do feel bad for the marines that were hurt but they need there own BN

ohio

Service stars, in Iraq, machine gunner and no CAR. A whole lot stinks.

AndyFMF

Wondering about 4 Campaign stars and 4 Sea Service Ribbons…but then noticed the GWOTEM. GWOTEM requires a SSR, therefore he received 4 ICM stars on 3 SSRs.

At least one deployment had to span two phases of the ICM.
So he is a Marine that deployed (presumably) to OIF I or II (GWOTEX/SSR) and then completed another 3 OIF deployments (one that spanned two campaign phases).
How is that possible if he is maintaining proper career progression and billet assignment?

Six other phases, previously identified, include:

Liberation of Iraq – March 19, 2003 to May 1, 2003.

Transition of Iraq – May 2, 2003 to June 28, 2004.

Iraqi Governance – June 29, 2004 to Dec. 15, 2005.

National Resolution – Dec. 16, 2005 to Jan. 9, 2007.

Iraqi Surge – Jan. 10, 2007 to Dec. 31, 2008.

Iraqi Sovereignty – Jan. 1, 2009 to August 31, 2010

Honest question…

How did this guy deploy multiple times to Iraq as an 0331 and not get at least a CAR?

Michael Holowecki

Easy, he didn’t.

Just An Old Dog

I’m really interested in the units this guy was in,,,,

OldSoldier54

Not sure what’s going on but, the donate button just takes me to the PayPal login page with nada indicating TAH as recipient.

Green Thumb

Has the goal been achieved?

If so, make sure we send a receipt to Phildo.

defendUSA

I donated…thanks, Jonn. That kid did not deserve to be swindled by a buddy fucker.

Hondo

Keep an eye on yer snail mail this week for incoming, Jonn.

Michael Holowecki

Everyday I’m hustling. If somethings breaks I’ll kick in what I can. Just lost my checking account because of extended overdraft.

Green Thumb

This is good stuff.

It may be small in the larger picture, but hopefully it will mean a lot for someone.

Green Thumb

Any SITREP(S) on this shitbag?
