San Joaquin Delta College cops get threats
The ABC News station in Stockton, CA reports that the campus cops at San Joaquin Delta College are being deluged with threats. Sorry, but I don’t believe it. They were just doing their job as they saw it in regards to their arrest of Kris Vieira, you know, just like we’ve done our jobs as we saw it around the world. In this day and age, apparently, death threats are in the ear of the listener. Or reader. When I post a “Wanted” poster, the fellow being highlighted gets to tell a judge and the police that I said “Dead or Alive” even though I never said or implied that at all. We’ve become a nation of pussies who flinch at every load noise. Or shaking bushes.
In this video, the police say that the District Attorney can’t find anything to prosecute Joseph Matthew Scott, probably because the pages of his copy of the United States Code are stuck together at 10 U.S.C. § 771.
The police say that they asked Joseph Matthew Scott to stay away from campus for his own protection – you know instead of ordering him to stay away from the campus because he’s not a student there. I’ve had messages telling me that Joseph Matthew Scott is mentally challenged and that I should leave him alone. Well, he wasn’t mentally-challenged enough to start his bullshit years ago. He came to our attention weeks before this incident, so it was only a matter of time.
All of these criminals are mentally-challenged, for Pete’s sake. That’s why they think they can get away with it. That’s why Joseph Matthew Scott went back a second day wearing the same uniform thinking he could get away with it again. If you’re wondering why I’m using Joseph Matthew Scott’s full name, it’s to make up for the media avoiding a mention of Joseph Matthew Scott’s full name.
ADDED: This was dropped off in the comments by Geetwillickers;
Was he honoring his antecedents’ service when he told people that he had three Purple Hearts, too? So his excuse is that he was dropped on his head and now suffers from PTS. I’m not buying that either. He’s been doing this for years, according to people in the area. Where was his grandfather?
Category: Shitbags
I could believe the threats, the internet seems to breed people that will do stupid stuff when riled up. While being full police departments, some campus police are viewed as nothing more than rent-a-cop security guard types…..
Just leaving this here:

The old “Supporting My Cousins” excuse…
The guys who did confront me, I don’t believe they really did it in a manner that they should have if they were true soldiers and true veterans,” Joseph Scott said. “I just really wish that they would have, you know, talked to me instead of judge me the way they did. But I do apologize for whoever I hurt.”
The other money quote from that article. The Classic “Not Real veterans” WAHAMBULANCE cry from A poser who was busted.
Why oh why then, didn’t you bring up your “Tribute” excuse when they confronted you? Why did you pretend you left your wallet home when they demanded ID?
Let’s give him the benefit of a doubt for just a second… if he was wearing it as a tribute, if he was unaware of how it would be perveived by vets, why oh why wouldn’t he have given that apology to the vets at the time? Why continue the charade until you become an internet celebrity?
For once, I would just like to see the apology at the instant of being exposed, not weeks later when they realize how badly they screwed up. Then I might believe the “tribute” or ignorance excuse.
You might as well as why a bear poos in the woods or why the Pope has to be Catholic and get a faster answer then to why posers wait till they are infamous before offering non – apologies apologies.
A recruiter gave him the info to go buy a uniform? Really? I want a name…
You’re right, we are becoming a nation of pussies. I wrote more, but I decided to delete it, because I don’t feel like getting into a pissing match, today (I’m tired, crabby, and just don’t want to).
WE DON’T WANT YOU IN *OUR* MILITARY…frecking window licker.
Thankfully I had my morning cup of coffee before I read this, after I read that bossy is a hateful word. Seems like they forget that they can turn off, block or ignore majority of those “threats”. I’m betting majority of them are from the normal trolls who are all talk anyways.
I agree JohE I want the name of the recruiter. I don’t know a single individual that would tell anybody to go and buy one before hand.
Yeah, you’ll have to forgive me being skeptical at the claims of death threats. Odds are just as good that it was a friend of the cop’s who sent it so the cop could claim he was in danger.
You should change your USC Code website, since the website was a .com, people will debate about it. But have no fear. I found the official government document stating this law:
C. § 771 : US Code – Section 771: Unauthorized wearing prohibited
Website of location:
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/granule/USCODE-2011-title10/USCODE-2011-title10-subtitleA-partII-chap45-sec771/content-detail.html
Official Document:

“‘[U.S. Attorney General’s office] states, there is no enforceable action we could have taken against [Scott] without violating his constitutional rights,'” Delta College police officer Jim Bock explained.” Source: ABC News station
Two points about that. First, I’m guessing that Kampus Kop Jim Bock is not the spokesperson for the US AG’s office. I’d like to hear from the office itself. Second, if Jimmy’s understanding and expression of the US AG’s position is correct, what that says is not that there is the absence of a crime but that there is a crime but that it is the opinion of the AG that the crime runs afoul of the 1st Amendment. Funny, I thought that was for a court to decide.
one other thing. If it’s freedom of expression for a civilian to wear a military uniform, it necessarily must be an exercise of freedom of expression to wear a Kampus Kop or an actual police uniform, right down to the badge. If not, there is a 14th and 1st Amendment violation.
I’ll bet you’re right; the law is there, but the AG has chosen not to enforce it. In addition to the possible constitutional issue, it’s really just a misdemeanor (no more than six months’ imprisonment) and I’m sure the AG has bigger fish to fry.
Yes, who cares about the small crimes. Nobody was hurt from them being broken…
People like that, who think they can pick and choose what laws to follow and enforce, make me sick.
The constitutional issue is a red herring, and a further example of Mall Cop’s BS. US Attorneys are happy to make an example out of someone:
http://professionalsoldiers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=412110&postcount=509
It helped that Bill Hillar defrauded several law enforcement agencies, but reading that thread, what was reported back was that the folks in the US Attorney’s office really wanted to get Hillar because he was clearing profiting from his phony claims.
But because US Attorneys offices are so meticulous (take a look how long it took for Hillar’s case), they obviously can’t take on every phony.
What we really need is a uniform set of laws at the state level that mirror the federal Stolen Valor Act to let local DAs go after phonies.
Of course, that means we also need Mall Cop to actually know the law…
Piece of shit “campus security” ass-boys that have attitude like Jim Bock need to feel the heat.
If he is too goddam dumb to figure out that the fuckface was breaking federal law then he probably cant sort out the difference between being called out for being a piss poor LEO and a legitimate threat.
Its a typical twat move by his ilk. Be a douche bagel and screw with veterans, then whine and hide behind his badge.
The entire facility needs to be razed to the ground and converted to a sewage treatment plant. Bock and his flunkies can be given a new position of sorting corn and peanuts out of the shit, thats about what they are qualified for.
Why does Mall Cop need to talk to the US AG? How about calling the local County DA, because we have a STATE LAW on the books that makes falsely claiming military decorations (ie: like a Purple Heart) a misdemeanor:
http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201120120AB167
Good to see Mall Cop knows what he’s talking about (sarc)
And if Mall Cop is crying to mommy that he’s being threatened, he’ll get a nice slow clap from the folks at places like the LAPD or any big city PD. Maybe when real gangbangers have shot up a bunch of Mall Cop’s golf carts and put together songs like “F**K DA MALL COP” (doesn’t have the same ring), he can start crying to the press that he’s being threatened.
I have a feeling that Mall Cop has a lot in common with Joseph Matthew Scott.
I am not a lawer, nor do I pretend to be one to defend my poser therapist friend, so I have one question about the US Code posted above.
I don’t see the penalties listed for violating any of these codes – generally, when something is prohibited by law, the law also states a punitive action for the violation of said law. Ie: “A person found in violation of sction blahblahblah shall be guilty of a first-class misdemeanor” or some such nonsense…
Is this one of those “toothless” codes, like the one governing the handling of the US Flag?
Is this why the CampusCops claim there is nothing that they can do to the poser?
Notice – this is NOT an attempt to defend said CampusCops – I am genuinely curious and would love for the Legal minds on TAH to weigh in if they would.
Thanks!
Reasonable question. There is no need for that provision of the US Code to carry a penalty provision because one exists in another section. It is 18 USC 702 and provides as follows:
“Whoever, in any place within the jurisdiction of the United States or in the Canal Zone, without authority, wears the uniform or a distinctive part thereof or anything similar to a distinctive part of the uniform of any of the armed forces of the United States, Public Health Service or any auxiliary of such, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”
Thanks 2/17 – that was the verbiage I was looking for.
Reminds me of this passage from “Atlas Shrugged”:
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against… We’re after power and we mean it… There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”
― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
You are correct. It is a toothless code that is not enforced.
CampusKeystoneKops claim all sorts of BS.
All they had to do was:
1. Have a clue about CA’s Stolen Valor Act
2. Arrest the correct person
3. Hand over to the local county DA
Instead the San Joaquin Delta Farce does this:
1. Eat a dozen donuts
2. Arrested totally wrong person, let the actual criminal go
3. Threaten the veteran with a FELONY
4. Run to the press that mean people from the internet keep calling them stupid
5. Try to make legal arguments when they have no idea what they’re talking about
They’re trying to rely on the fact they look like real cops to snowball people into believing their version of reality.
Doc Chev
Take note of the second video
At least this dimwit has enough balls to apologize
Bullshit, this news channel is eanbling this fucker too. PTS is the new ADHD now, just thrown out there and used an excuse to do stupid things for people.
News channel mentioning his family servimg with little or no proof is just a way to soften the blow for his acts. Same with his grandfather.
I sort of buy the recruiter story. I was at my reserve unit in Concord last year (about 45 minutes from San Joaquin). A recruiter brought a potential recruit. Said recruit was dressed in BDUs with jump wings. Before going nuts, one of the other NCOs asked him where he went to jump school and where he served previously. He never had. Just bought the shit online out of “respect.” Most of us NCOs lost our shit temporarily, mostly at this dbag recruiter who would encourage something like this.
I wish I could remember their names.
If that IS, true, that recruiter could have given him better advice on what to buy. If he’d shown up wearing PFC rank and a generic US Army patch, no ranger, no EOD, I’ll bet no one would have given him a hard time.
For all of those who think it was the Ranger who got arrested, its not. Marcus Caden was the ranger. Kristopher Vieira was the other veteran who didn’t appear on the original video. Just want to Clarify. Oh, and the guys name who wore the fake ranger uniform is Joseph Matthew Scott.
After watching that video, I have to say that he does come across as a bit challenged. But I’ll give him some credit. He did apologize, promise not to do it again, and appears to exhibit something resembling humility. That’s rare. “Humility” is a word that is not in most posers’ vocabulary; just the opposite, most of them are total dickheads. Bernath, Chevalier, Wickre, etc., etc., etc., could learn something from this guy; but, of course, they won’t.
Agreed. He got a crash course not so much in “Why this matters”, but more appropriately, “How much this matters”. If he learned the lesson, he’ll fade out of sight. There’s so many others out there. Don’t believe the crap about the recruiter, unless said recruiter was playing a sick joke on guy who isn’t all there to begin with.
“Promised not to wear it again”…gee, where have I heard THAT story before?
Right, Church? Or McSealy? Or Ballduster? Or Soupy? Etc., etc., etc…?
No, they’ll keep doing it until the day they die or go to jail. Sometimes even longer.
Yeah, he got chewed up and spat out and he did apologize publicly. I agree that he has done more than most to correct his errant ways. I’m done here. I hope he doesn’t come back for cause.
I’m just surprised that people don’t take the easy route, and claim they’re a supply specialist. No one ever flips their shit over supply specialists.
Didn’t graduate high school? That’s NOT what the LodiNews.com has on their website:

Anyway … mission accomplished. He apologized and looked contrite.
I agree that his grandfather is enabling him. PTS from something that happened at age 3? I don’t buy that at all.
Still, Joseph Matthew Scott apologized and said he’d not wear the uniform again. And, he didn’t weasle-word it with “if I offended anybody” — he said “…and to those I upset and made mad, I apologize… I do apologize to whoever I hurt….”

So your wearing Purple Hearts why? he is a pog of shit, chances are 2 or 3 months from now he will be walking around again in all his bullshit gear.
He will be walking around again at another college doing it.
