Thursday morning feel good story
OIF ’06-’07-’08 & Flagwaver send us a link to this morning’s feel good story from Nebraska about Ramon R. Matlock who kicked open the door of Ronald Green, 66 who was peaceably watching his television.
Matlock swung at Green, and Green fired a shot into Matlock’s chest and another into his lower back, authorities said.
Authorities said Matlock ran out the door, but only got as far as the front yard. The Omaha Fire Department pronounced Matlock dead at the scene.
Kleine said Green has been cooperating with authorities, even turning over the firearm, which is properly registered to him.
Kleine deemed the shooting justified, saying that Green was fearful for his life, wasn’t the one to provoke the incident and had no place to go.
Matlock’s family says the incident is a misunderstanding and that the 19-year-old wouldn’t have broken into someone else’s house without a reason.
The family, of course, claims that Ramon didn’t need money so the whole thing must have been a misunderstanding. Neighbors say Ramon was a fixture in the neighborhood and always for the wrong reason. You should click over and watch the video report.

I would have commented that Matlock would need the services of Marcus Welby, but it seems that his condition has been overtaken by events. Fo’ Shizzle.
Cue the Matlock family in 3. . . 2. . . . 1. . . ..
“But he was ALWAYS such a GOOD boy, NEVER got into ANY TROUBLE. He MUST have been enticed into that MEAN man’s house, the mean man who SHOT and KILLED our DARLING LITTLE Ramon.”
Yeah, mommy? When your special little snowflake breaks into other people’s homes, he can pretty much turn in his “Good Boy Card”, mkay?
Heh! Good shooting!!
Additional proof that its fatal to phuck with old guys.
I read the rest of the article. I wonder if we’ll get to read that Mr. Green popped the rest of the “victim’s” family after they showed up in his front yard to hold their little vigil?
Why does it always come out that way? The little darling child, no more than a babe really, “accidently” kicks down a door, breaks a window, makes forcible entry (fill in the proper technique) gets double tapped out by the homeowner/defender, and it’s “My little baby this, my little baby that…”
Now if it was an altercation on the front lawn with no witnesses, ok, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. But after kicking down the door? Come on!
I guess that one benefit of using a smaller round for home invaders is that they make it outside and don’t bleed out on your carpet.
Well said Bobo. There’s logic to your point. Carpet cleaning like ServPro can cost a bundle!
I’d send his family the bill. Then again, I’m a bit of a prick at times.
There was a misunderstanding all right. Matlock thought the house was was occupied by an unarmed man and found out otherwise
‘…family says that Ramon thought it was his aunt’s house since they are similar looking…’ So you are going to go to your aunt’s house and kick the door open instead of knocking? Once Ramon was inside he saw that it was not his aunt’s house. Either way, good shooting.
“Matlock’s family says the incident is a misunderstanding and that the 19-year-old wouldn’t have broken into someone else’s house without a reason.”
Without a reason???!!! Really! Did he really need to use the bathroom that bad?
Well I guess we’ll never know because in my grandfather’s words, again, “make sure there is only one story told…yours!”
Matlock meet Quincy
