Norks release Merrill Newman

| December 7, 2013

Fox News reports that 85-year-old Korean War veteran Merrill Newman is headed home after a month in the hermit kingdom of NDtBF;

North Korean state media said Saturday that 85-year-old Merrill Newman was released because he had apologized for his alleged crimes during the Korean War and because of his age and medical condition.

It was not clear if his confession was coerced. He was taken off a plane Oct. 26 by North Korean authorities while preparing to leave the country after a 10-day tour.

“I’m very glad to be on my way home,” Newman told Japanese media at Beijing airport, Reuters reported. “I feel good, I feel good. I want to go home to see my wife.”

I’m thinking that they released Newman because the US threatened to send Joe Bite Me there to bore them to death.

Nah. They got what they wanted, they video’d it, and it will be broadcast on official TV for weeks, maybe months and years, as their way of showing they are….

Sorry, I just can’t do it. Duloc is, Duloc is, Duloc is the perfect place!!!!!!!

“It was not clear if his confession was coerced.” Oh, it’s clear all right. The NORKS yanked him from a plane as he was departing and held him against his will for weeks. That’s coercion. Or do they think it was coincidence that he made a propoganda video and, shortly thereafter, he was released?

OWB

Naw, no coercion there. If you believe that the largest unicorn ranch extant is in NorK, with the requisite Skittles farm. Otherwise, it’s pretty obvious by just looking at the video, knowing nothing at all about the circumstances.

A Proud Infidel

Maybe the Norks were threatened with another visit by Jimmeh Kahtuh or Dennis Rodman?

Two things have come up about Norkland.

1 – It’s become a meth hub. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/12/07/21772203-murky-drug-trade-how-did-north-korea-become-a-meth-hub?lite

2 – Mr. Newman received a phone call in Beijing from jodaveep who offered him a ride on AF2, which he turned down with the response that he was taking a flight that would get him home in just a few hours. http://news.msn.com/world/biden-visits-dmz-as-nkorea-releases-us-tourist

Of course, I think anyone of us would take a free ride with da veep, wouldn’t we? No? (Neither would I.)

If I was his Old Lady I’d make sure that the first thing I did when he hit the front door was to have a set of COW BELLS ready to hang around his neck, and tell him not to leave the front yard till he lears his lesson. Real glad he’s home anyway.

I’ve heard on good authority Little BO Peep threatened to deploy Joe Biteme to visit the NORKs, to parlay for Merrill’s release. Rather than subject themselves to abject boredom from gafftastic Joe, they simply let him go. They may be batshit crazy, but they aren’t stupid.

Just An Old Dog

Totally agree with #1. The Norks will get 30 years of propaganda out of this. It doesn’t matter if he gets home and makes a 3 hour documentary that proves his “confession” was coerced. The people of NK will never see it anyway.

Joe Williams

If I was Mr. Newman’ I would make a video giving the Norks the middle finger and give it to South Korea to brodcast to the North. Then, that is just me. Joe

Well, lastest update is Mr. Newman has arrived, safe and sound.

I hope he does not do something like that again.

Newman says TV statement was coerced. No surprise there.

Also, Kim Junior Birdman’s uncle has been dismissed amid charges of ‘corruption’ (unapproved behavior) and two other people in high positions have been executed. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/northkorean-leader-kim-jong-uns-powerful-uncle-dismissed-as-two-aides-executed-8980437.html

Something’s going on over there. Waiting for news release on another nuke test and the official ceremony of the startup of the reactor.
