The passing of Viper Ash
I’ve been lucky enough to be included in an email list of several Vietnam veterans. One was Gary Assell who wrote under the name Viper Ash. 1stCavRVN11B forwarded an email from his son today announcing his passing. Welcome home, brother.

RIP, brother.
There it is!
From one Nam Vet to another, Rest In Peace Brother! 69-70
Rest in peace, man.
Yet another that has left us too soon. He had a huge heart, and was another vet that simply got it done – no matter what. No questions, no excuses, just results. He will be sorely missed.
My condolences to his family and friends. He now is among old friends and new at Fiddler’s Green.
RIP, sir.
RIP. Only blue sky and soft landings fron now on.
“We should thank God that such men lived.”
Rest in peace, my elder brother-in-arms. Rest in peace.
Rest in Peace, Warrior, God Bless.
Thank you, Nam Vet, for your service when so many others would not. RIP…
Rest in Peace Gary. You will be missed dearly!
Rest in peace, Gary. I’ll catch up with you at Fiddlers Green, big bro. Save me a chair at your table, order us a po boy can of cold Budweiser and handful of them cigars. Hooah!
Rest in Peace my dear brother. I know your buddies are taking care of you now. We’ll all have a few drinks on the other side where we will feel no pain, no fear, and the comfort of old friends.
Until then….
Honor and Courage
RIP
