Tuesday Feel Good Story
Chief Tango sends us a link to the last chapter of the Charles McLaughlin story, a young man who turned his life around by breaking into someone else’s home;
[A] woman who lives in the home called 911 about 10 p.m. Sunday and said her boyfriend had shot an intruder. The woman told dispatchers she did not know the intruder and described a struggle before the shooting.
7NEWS reporter Tyler Lopez talked with a neighbor who said an officer at the scene also said a home intruder was shot.
“All he would tell us is that apparently some drunk or somebody tried to break into a house that wasn’t his and he was shot,” Jack Fried told Lopez.
The article goes that McLaughlin had “a six-page Colorado criminal history, including arrests for burglary, auto theft, resisting arrest, DUI and violating of a protection order.”

And the sad part is that he was only seven years away from starting on getting his GED. Makes me shake my head. The only left to say is “Fo’ Shizzle!”
At least this young man will no longer steal the oxygen of those of us who actually use it for something useful.

A bit more on the story, from The Denver Post, “Police said Tuesday that McLaughlin, who has an extensive criminal record, unsuccessfully tried to force his way into the home, but the homeowner confronted him. McLaughlin “continued to create a disturbance” outside, police said. The homeowner came out onto the porch and shot him when the confrontation escalated.”
So, Charles has completed “turning his life around”, he went from living to dead.
All he wanted was some Arizona brand watermelon tea and a package of Skittles!! Hardly worth someone’s life.

NOW, NOW, we all know that the poor soul was just a victim of Society lashing out over his oppression, and…..

Good guy wins again! Great, now we don’t have to support in in county lockup and prison. My only comment about it is never get close enough for a struggle to happen if you have a weapon.
