At around 1:30 pm today there was a shooting at mother’s day parade tat . It has been announced that there have been at least seventeen nineteen injured with no reported fatalities at this time. New Orleans’s Mayor gave this statement.
“It’s important for us, as I have said, to change the culture of death on the streets of New Orleans to a culture of life, and it’s going to take an all-hands-on-deck approach,” he said.
“These kinds of incidents are not going to go unanswered. We’re going to be very, very aggressive. There were hundreds of people out there today, so somebody knows who did this.”

This is interesting in light of the New Yorker article that what if’d the Boston bombings as shootings. Guess the WMD comparison doesn’t past field testing.

It’s a sad state of affairs, but it is New Orleans. A place where parades are almost as commonplace as shootings. I spent three years recruiting in Baton Rouge and plan to retire outside of that city. Had to drive to N.O. to get to MEPS, and though the Crescent City has a unique vibe and is a wonderful place to visit, I only ventured there a few times outside of work.
IIRC, there was a shooting during Mardi Gras a year or two ago. While briefly looking for reference to that, I found an article about four people being wounded a few months ago, again during Mardi Gras. There is nothing like a South Louisiana-style parade, but I’ll stick to the small towns when I want to see one.
Remember, boys and girls, this is a city that in the not-quite eight years since Katrina, enough state and federal (read: YOUR) money has been dumped in to give every single resident of NOLA the equivalent of almost $300K.
And it’s STILL a fucking shithole. Liberal policies at work…sort of.
I think this sums it up nicely: “Another woman, Erica Garner, whose nephew and sister had been shot, said the shooting exemplified how the city’s violence is out of control. ‘This ain’t nowhere to live,’ she said. ‘This place a hellhole.’” Times Picayune of Greater New Orleans
What!? Mayor Noggin’s “Chocolate City” isn’t the libtard dream he said it was going to be (if you give him more money)??!! Who’d’a thunk it?!
I’m pretty sure that the perpetrators are law abiding registered gun owners! Ok probably not

to top it off, the NOPD has repeatedly been rated as the worst in the USA! I’ve gotten to know a few who have lived there, they told me that if you get pulled over how quick you are with a $20 or $50 bill decides if you’re getting a ticket! Even the full-blooded Cajuns I’ve worked with in the past basically that “Everyone in that town is for sale!”.
Isn’t New Orleans more like Chicago or maybe Detroit, except in the south?
YES, it is!
