Matthis Chiroux is NOT an Iraq War veteran

| March 30, 2013

So yesterday was the day that Matthis and his little band of criminals served their community service for disrupting things outside of West Point a couple of years ago. Someone we know dropped by to observe the festivities and sent us a scan of the little flyer that one of their enablers were handing out.

The flyer twice mentioned that Matthis Chiroux is an Iraq War veteran. No, he is NOT an Iraq War veteran, unless you consider getting ordered to Iraq and refusing to go Iraq War service.

Matthis Chiroux is NOT an Iraq War veteran

Matthis Chiroux serial liar

For those who aren’t familiar with Matthis Chiroux, here are his records;

He has no medals for service in either Afghanistan or Iraq, although he has called himself a veteran of those conflicts in the past. He even tried to claim that he was an Afghanistan veteran while he wrote at Huffington Post. When I confronted him the comments section of his post, he told his readers that I altered his records, so he’s sticking hard to this fallacy. He had six days TDY inside the wire from his permanent duty station in Germany. He claims he got PTS because he heard stories from the soldiers there. Word on the street is that he’s now filing a claim with the VA for having PTS from raping a Filipino hooker. He’s nothing but a conman.

I comfort myself with the thought that one day he’ll come across a grizzled “Old School” Vet like me who will gladly conduct a “Wall-to-Wall Counseling Session & Attitude Adjustment” on him, and enjoy every moment of it!!

GruntSgt

Yeah, I’m guessing being able to spell is not a special qualification to be enlisted in the Clown Platoon. Bet her son is really proud.

Doc Bailey

It is a crying shame the original SVA was struck down. I would LOVE to see Matthis in pound me in the ass prison

DaveO

Today is like a reunion – Chiroux and Choi together again!

The VA is not going to take kindly to having to consider a claim of 50% disability from a man raping a woman. And by putting it on an official document, the cops have to take notice.

Unless they are federal cops.

Eric

The way the system is working now, Chiroux and Choi will be on their disability before any other vets who submit in the last 18 months.

Just like I said when I read the last article, if he really has committed war crimes, he needs to turn himself into the authorities for it. If he were so truly dedicated to the cause, he’d do that. But of course he’s not, just like when it starts raining, demonstrators will think twice about protesting.

Blanka

Great post. I’m forwarding this to Konstantinos and letting him know he has a great group of vets supporting him. I moved to Highland Falls to steer clear away from that ilk and be closer to military members. No one is messing with my town.

Global War on Terrorism Medal….

Anonymous

Yeah, pretty sad. The Global War on Terrorism Medal shouldn’t have been separated from the Expeditionary Medal, which is what true combat vets received. It’s like giving any war era service members a medal for not being there.

Lucky

Please tell me you are fucking joking about his PTS claim!!! If that little shit gets coverage for fake PTS I’m going off on someone at the fucking VA! I’m a reserve 2 tour, two theater veteran, the VA acknowledges that I ‘probably have PTS’ but keeps denying my claim. I’m about to go full retard, and you NEVER go full retard!

LCDR M(Ret)

Well, hey, I mean the guy was in the military during the Afghanistan war. Give him a break!

/sarc off

LCDR M(Ret)

@9 I think of the Global War on Terror medal as a souped up National Defense Medal. The member only has to be in the military during the timeframe specified to receive it. Different than the Expeditionary Medal.

Has anybody checked out Tarak kauff?

everyone gets the gwot one, for USMC you have to be in your unit for minimum of a month, thats it.

I think the GWOTSM is similar in concept to the American Campaign Medal from WWII. Now it is true that many who got the American Campaign Medal were in combat against U-boats, but the criteria was only that you perform one year of duty (cumulative) within the continental borders of the United States, or perform 30 days consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days of duty outside the borders of the United States but within the American Theater of Operations.

Not exactly the same, but similar.

LCDR M(Ret)

I did a search on Wikipedia and, lo and behold, there is a GWOT Service AND a GWOT Expeditionary Medal. I did not know that.

So, I guess I was talking out of my butt more than usual when I made my first comment above. Sheesh!

@9 Now that I know the real deal, I agree with you totally. The standard Expeditionary should be good for GWOT too.

JP

@4, Doc…you act like that wouldn’t be something he’d enjoy!

Doc Bailey

Marine Core. . .

that level of ignorance tells you all you need to know. I would not be surprised if half the people there were up to their necks in douche.

Redacted1775

Why can’t meth-head just go away? His five minutes of fame are long past expired…

Ex-PH2

OK, if Matthis Chiroux is an Iraq vet, then I was an artillery gunner up at Khe Sanh.

Anonymous

@16 no problemo… It’s confusing as hell to have a gwot and a gwot expeditionary… That’s why people like Matthis Pubis Nelson Chiroux can wave it around to the misinformed public and pretend to be important. It’s truly pathetic. Gotta say, I feel bad for that girlfriend of his. Must be dumber than a box of rocks not to see the truth when it’s coming… From… Every… Direction.

Blanka

EX-PH2… Boy oh boy, those times at Khe Sanh were memorable…. Remember when Op Pegasus was launched? Shit, I grew wings and hooves and whinnied from excitement. Ah, the good old days.

Matthis Impersonator

@ 20 & 22 – I may not have been there… I may not have even been born… But I suffered… I suffered just like the rest of them. The stories I heard… (sniffle)… They will haunt me forever…. For… EVER. And in the wise words of American legend Taylor Swift, from there on… My country and I, well:

“We will never ever, ever be getting back together….”

So…

United States…

“I’m really gonna miss you picking fights
And me falling for it screaming that I’m right…
And you would hide away and find your peace of mind… (Insert Sarcasm Here)
With some indie record that’s much cooler than mine.”

OWB

Will you guys NEVER understand this? He says it therefore it is so.

That is all. Also explains why so many of us refer to him as delusional. (Among other things.)

Never… Ever.

Yeah, there are two GWOTs. GWOT Expeditionary and Service. Service (darker blue) goes to anyone, and the Ex goes to anyone who deployed to Iraq or Afghan but you have to choose between that or the Campaign Ribbon (or star on ribbon). Gets real f’n confusing. If you are like me and deployed to Kuwait in January 2003, you get both the Ex and Service and don’t have to choose (technically deployed in support of Op Enduring Freedom). Orrrrr, if you did some time early in Afghan and also in Iraq and Afghan, you don’t have to choose. Then, there are the campaign stars. If you were in Iraq in the early years like I was a couple tours, you end up with both GWOTs, the ICM w/4 stars, a PUC, and a sea service deployment ribbon with a couple stars(USMC) and a combat action ribbon. There is also the National Defense that everyone gets. Just for deploying once, you walk away with at least 4 ribbons. Marine Corps is a bit stingier so you don’t get any other cool ribbons or medals, just the ones everyone got.

I don’t expect civilians to get it. It’s hard enough as someone who served to get them right. This turd needs to go down hard.

NHSparky

Yo, Mattis! Get some time on the pond, nub.

From what I understand, the GWOT Service Medal was originally intended to be awarded to those service members who served stateside in support of the GWOT. This originally included those Guardsmen called up to do airport duty. After a short time, though, the Army (not sure about other services) decided that almost all service was in support of GWOT operations–leading to many of us who deployed early in the GWOT receiving both the Service and Expeditionary Medals. In the meantime, Soldiers who neither deployed nor rendered especially honorable service received the Service Medal just for wearing a uniform.

I have two DA Photos that were taken for The Old Guard as a young Specialist. I love showing them off due to the fact that they were taken only a month apart. In the first, I’m wearing an AAM, NDSM, and ASR. The second shows me wearing those as well as the awards I was authorized during the preceding month–an ARCOM, GWOT-E, and GWOT-S. Double the awards, double the excitement, or something like that.

There are too many Soldiers who never wore more than the two Service Medals (NDSM and GWOT) before they fell (finally wearing Expeditionary and/or Campaign Medals, as well as their first and only decorations while receiving final honors), and I do not wish to detract from them. However, anyone claiming combat service based on a medal that was created to recognize Soldiers serving in support of a mission needs to have their head checked.

My less-than-stellar career thus far has made me aware of some petty jealousies on my part (crying over SFC selections and awards), but if I got out this year I’d go to my grave proud of the service I’ve done; not what I feel I coulda/woulda/shoulda done. Matthis must really feel like his service was trifling to lay claim to a 6-day layover in Afghanistan.

Carl Webb

Doesn’t the military consider you a veteran regardless of where you deploy?

Fatcircles0311

@29. Yes. If your ass didn’t actually deploy to Iraq during said war though you can’t claim to be an Iraq war vet. I brought up the gwot service medal because it’s a joke especially when the guy didn’t do shit. It’s basically another national defense medal and that thing is loathed by most already.

DaveO

#29 Carl Webb: yes and no. The Army considers you a veteran, for legal purposes related to benefits, when you have an Honorable or General Discharge. It’s a good definition. If one deserts, or receives a Bad Conduct Discharge, then s/he is not a veteran.

The issue with the Service Medal is that the Pentagon made a mistake (imagine that!). The Service Medal is redundant with the National Defense Service Medal. Service medals are a misplacement of honor: if one is in the service, one serves. We have, in the Army at least, a layering of redundancies: NDSM, GWOTSM, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon. Giving a ribbon just for wearing a uniform is asinine: it wastes money, and it gives false-value where soldiers place zero value.

The issue with Chiroux is that he is monetizing his service by lying. Chiroux did not get PTS from his few days in Afghanistan – he claims he got PTS from raping an innocent woman in the Philippines. Chiroux was a member of the profession of Arms, but like current Secretary of State John Kerry, Chiroux fabricates crimes that he accuses innocent soldiers of doing in exchange for… what? Kerry cashed in on his notoriety by shifting gears and going to law school and bedding rich heiresses.

Sad fact is: Chiroux will never be prosecuted for the crime of rape. If it happened at all, it happened outside the USA, to a woman-who-is-not-caucasian, and who can’t be found. Progressives encourage that behavior, and Chiroux doesn’t travel outside of Progressive enclaves. If he ever slips and go to Texoma, he’d be appropriately arrested, prosecuted and his lying would get exposed and judged.

Ex-PH2

@22 – LLMAO! And they still haven’t located that case of beer that was supposed to be hidden somewhere up there. Charlie probably found it and confiscated it.

Ex-PH2

Oh, man, it’s deja vu all over again about being IN the service during GWOT or Iraq, and/or being stationed over there, or NOT stationed over there.

This is why there are Vietnam vets and Vietnam-era vets.

DaveO

#32: well, shit.

Lucky

Of all the issues and idiots from my nearly 11 years of service, Matthis is the only issue I refuse to let go of. That dude, needs to go away. He’s like the turd that won’t flush.

C2/2000AF

LOL! Carl Webb re-emerges after being ousted! He is awfully quiet.

Hondo

DaveO: unfortunately, you’re probably right to say Chiroux will never be prosecuted for “rape”, even if he’s guilty as sin. Most Federal crimes have a 5 year statue of limitations. And if his crime was committed before the 2006 law change extending the statue of limitations for certain sex crimes, he’s “grandfathered” under the old rules under the Constitution’s prohibition on ex post facto laws.

DaveO

#39 Hondo – beyond what you state, which I agree with, no prosecutor will go for it because Chiroux is the only known witness to an alleged crime. He made it up in order to bolster his monster-creds with the anti-war movement. He’s lied about the key parts of his service, why not lie about rape? Were he truly acting out of guilt, he’d wipe the slate clean – it’s how people behave when they make a radical move to redemption. But, Chiroux’s cool with rape, and so are his Progressive buds.

DaveO

The other number 39, eg 38. Oh well.

DaveO

The other number 39, ie 38. Oh well.

How this shit bird ever got into the Army is beyond me they must have been desperate a fucking disgrace to this nation. I read he liked to smoke a lot weed if he served in the Navy or Marine Corps he would have been busted a long time ago tossed out no amnesty. Before I retired I served as a senior enlisted leader above my pay grade. If I had this piece of dog shit in my command with his refusing to deploy along with other issues would make sure he was busted tossed out prefer OTH discharge no VA benefits not recommended for rentry. Service don’t need losers like him.

Blanka I met you before you seem to be a nice person i feel bad for you knowing this loser

I was stationed with Matthis in Germany, and he was a real work of art. We went out drinking a couple of times, and each time, he was either high on ecstasy, cocaine, or both. Not my definition of a Soldier.
