Sequestration? What Sequestration?

| March 24, 2013

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the government was broke, and had to cut back spending as a result.  I think that was supposed to be the reason for something called “sequestration”.

But I must have heard wrong.  Seems that the current Administration has just approved the release of nearly $500 million in funds to our firm allies the Palestinian Authority.  And they’ve asked Congress for another $200 million for the Palestinian Authority for this year, too.

This is on top of the $250 million in “economic assistance” we just sent to our firm friends, the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated government of Egypt.  And the $37 million in additional education aid we gave that steadfast US “friend” Pakistan about a week ago.  And I’m sure there are a few other such giveaways out there that have happened during the last few weeks.

By my math, that all totals close to a billion dollars.  I’m guessing it’s more than $1 billion when it’s all added up.

And it’s all going to regimes that are often less-than-friendly to the US.

Sequestration?  Yeah, that sequestration is really helping us cut back on nonessential Federal spending, isn’t it?

But they want to have the US suffer by cutting back FAA controllers, TSA, education……sequestration? We don’t have no stinkin sequestration!

It’s okay, Hondo, ’cause they did warn Israel that there may be some cutbacks in defense aid due to sequestration. So clearly the US gov’t has priorities straight. They’ll continue to show some practical support for America’s BFFs.

OWB

Sure. Borrow $$ from one enemy to give $$ to another enemy. Makes about as much sense as cutting back on earned benefits to give stuff to parasites.

Oh, never mind. The list of nonsense has gotten much too long.

He just gave money to Jordan too

You really need to put caution people in introducing a topic such as this. I have a spare monitor but it’s very small. And I haven’t yet fixed the hole caused by the last monitor I knocked into the wall. (What anger issues?)

NavyChief

Yet they cut TA for our young service members, furlough the hard working civilians, close gyms and other support services. Do they have their priorities backwards or what?

It’s the Federal Gubbment! They took the “common” out of common sense decades ago. ‘Nuff said.

F-16’s and M-1 Abrams tanks to Egypt (Muslim Brotherhood proxy leadership)? and now funneling money to Palestine (Hamas)? What the fuck is going on here?

We may as well dismantle airport security while we’re at it, considering we’re literally funding the enemies we’ve been fighting against for the last 10 years.

When you seek to TRANSFORM AMERICA, you don’t screw exclusively with domestic matters. What is surprising? The only revolutions that are effectyed overnight are the coups. All others take time, planning, and process. For obamaman, the planning predated his first inauguration, the country gave him time (eight friggin’ years!) and the process continues. Next item.

Well, you have two libtards who are complaining about how the sequestration is affecting their staff. One esteemed DFL’er from FL goes so far as to say it’s getting in the way of their dining. Really.

@tony: BINGO!! Good idea, the TSA, THAT’S an “Agency” that could use some massive cuts!! I say we start by cancelling their order for the billions of rounds of ammo!!

“We’re going to fundamentally change America.” Remember that statement?

At least he was up front and candid about that, but sadly a majority of Americans had no idea what he was really getting at.

The question being: who is America not supporting with dollars, apart from the domestic screwing Obama and his buddies are enjoying?

Bush-43 was on the path of turning sub-saharan Africa into close allies of America. Obama? Not so much. Anti-AIDS, pro-democracy, pro-industry efforts are now practically unfunded.

Bush-43 kept Europe safe from Russian predation. Obama? Well now that he’s gotten his flexibility back, not so much. Now that the EU’s screwed the Russian 1%, I don’t foresee out-of-work Occupiers headed to Europe to protect it from Putin.

Bush-43 kept the Norks and the PLA/N/AF in check. Obama? Not so much. What is not given in diplomatic cash is instead given in the assurance America will buy back its debt from the PRC.

Allies shat upon and starved of US cash and business, existential enemies empathized with and paid with money that has no underpinning, real, intrinsic value.

Who has time for TA with the wars cropping up?
