Congress sees holes in Benghazi report
The Washington Times reports that the administration has completed it’s study of the events at the US consulate in Benghazi on September 11th this year. But some members of Congress are complaining that some of their questions haven’t been answered in the report;
Sen. Kelly Ayotte, New Hampshire Republican and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the investigative panel would not probe “interagency discussions” about what occurred at the consulate in the months before the attack and questions about the Obama administration’s response during the deadly assault.
“So I think when we get the report of the Accountability Review Board, it will not answer the question of why didn’t we have [military] assets in place. It will not answer the question of interagency communications and what deficiencies were there. And so there are going to be some significant limitations to that review from what I know,” Mrs. Ayotte told an audience Wednesday at the American Enterprise Institute.
Of course, we’re never going to get the complete picture in the next four years. I’m just waiting for the administration to declare that the terrorist attack was just workplace violence.

It’s not like we would ever expect to actually get the truth out of this administration! Come on!
So, we just move on, huh? The administration deliberately and purposefully attempted to foist on us that the terrorist attack was a spontaneous protest against a video that no one has yet seen in its entirety. And that’s it? Done? Next item? Run the Bullshit flag up the pole, please.
@2 – this administration is so slimy, that everything literally rolls off it. Amazing.
It’s just another form of denial. Without it, everything in the world of the current administration becomes unpleasant and disturbing.
Someone will spill the beans on this. It won’t happen right away, but it will happen — some disgruntled person, who does not ‘get along’ with the peeps behind the ‘throne’ will produce documentation to back up a real investigation and the SH and IT will begin to spray all over the room.
OK, I’m an optimist. What’s wrong with that?
I think the Liberal response is “Stop politicizing the tragedy in Benghazi. Can’t you see we’re busy politicizing the tragedy in Newtown?”

Eventually it will come out but I doubt anyhting will hit the fan. This is already out of the news cycle, this Administration succesfully swept it under the rug…
@5 – Yeah, pretty much. It’s only politicizing when it fits THEIR purpose and agenda.
@4 – I am an optimist, too – and I applaud you for having the same outlook. It’s positive. At the same time, I am a realist – but I recognize that this administration is the way it is for a reason.
It seems to me that the agencies within this country lack moral compass (and then some), to include the State Department (and certainly DOJ and some of their entities), yet I’d like to think that someone within those agencies has the intestinal fortitude to bring truth to bear. Given this hasn’t happened with the ATF regarding “Fast and Furious”, the WH’s lack of “transparency” (as was promised months ago), and now the Benghazi debacle, evidence tells me nothing will develop to satisfy any stretch of justice.
I won’t go as far as saying there are darker forces at work (I’m not a conspiracy theorist), but there is an agenda going on that seems to be counter to the principles which this country was founded.
Lastly, I regularly visit this blog because its an anchor to stay centered in spite of the nonsense that’s going on in this country. Hope that makes sense. I’d rather keep the company of people which I have something in common, because it seems my country doesn’t have the same values and principles that I have anymore – and that frightens me a bit, and saddens me a lot.
@8. Regarding your list para: Ditto, ditto, and double ditto.
@8 – Things are definitely changing. Change is always uncomfortable, sometimes frightening, sometimes threatening. All of the babbling that comes out of DC stirs up the feelings we all have related to change. We feel threatened by an administration that says “I’ll do this” and then nothing is done (e.g., transparency), or promises one thing and delivers another (Obamacare). I’ve said before that Congress and the White House could be shut down for the next three years and no one would know the difference. It would also save the taxpayers a lot of money.
My retirement is nothing like retirement was for my parents and grandparents, which means there is plenty of uncertainty for me and all the other ‘boomers’ in my generation. It means that if I want to have my comfort, I have to be completely self-sufficient. I have no issue with that, but at the same time I want the ‘government’ to be a hell of a lot less arrogant.
This year seems to be the end of some cycle, not in the doomsday sense, but in a more real-world sense. It makes us feel unsettled, at loose ends. We don’t know where to turn to find something familiar. Then we find TAH, which seems to be an island of sanity in a whirlpool of change.
We come here, we find a common ground, and we stay. Nothing wrong with that.
While I know the elections are over (obviously), I thought I’d share this. I believe it’s somehow relevant to the discussion here, and perhaps elsewhere:

He starts to make the point I’d make myself at about the 7:30 mark, but he’s more succinct than I.
[…] SHOCKER: Congress Sees Holes In Benghazi Report. […]
I want Obama to explain why he went around lying about it.
Nothing to see here, keep moving FORWARD!
Just defund the a$$holes until they spill all the beans
I won’t go as far as saying there are darker forces at work (I’m not a conspiracy theorist), but there is an agenda going on that seems to be counter to the principles which this country was founded.
The darker forces which shelter that agenda are the principal motivations of our ‘mainstream’ media. Its forces are overwhelming supporters of this administration, and will stoutly resist illuminating and bringing to public notice any acts, policies or omissions which might raise public doubts about our current Executive branch.
Where once any administration had to face media questioning, this one has cowed, or glamorized, into submission nearly every journalist who we count on for our information. So we’re nearly back to the state of Soviet citizens at the mercy of Pravda, parsing between the lines of stories to try to winnow a grain or two of truth. Those blogs and other services who do shine a light or two have nowhere near the resources of the MSM to dig up facts for public digestion. Our MSM are in the clutches of the dark forces, and things must get worse before they’ll wake up and speak truth to power.
This just popped up on the ‘breaking news’ part of the net:

I expect there will be more detail to follow.
@16, this administration is so loaded with inept people that if they actually held spontaneous press conference, the way that presidents up through Clinton did, it would expose their incompetence to the light of day.
If you don’t want to appear as dumb as you really are, you don’t let the media into your circle. You keep them at a distance and feed them what you want them to hear, even if it’s a load of hogwash.
I doubt that it’s ‘dark forces’ at work. It’s more like ‘dimwits at work’. Believe me, everything I’ve seen says the lights are on, but nobody’s home.
@16. Insufficiently sensitive. Nicely put and I agree wholeheartedly.
And now we know why Hillary “Big Butt” Clinton knew last week that she would be ill tomrrow. She was made aware of when the independent report on Benghazi would be released and the week would have been insufficient to figure out how to answer the questions that the report would have prompted. If nothing else, this administration is adept at delaying, deceiving, and disposing. The truth will ultimately be revealed but the frustration must be great for the families of those who died in this debacle.
Hillary “Ferris Bueller” Clinton.
