Rumors of War

| November 15, 2012

Jonn already noted via UJ that things are stirring.

More recently our pal David Bellavia noted an uptick on FaceBook.

Here’s the link that matters: From Haaretz

Just the lede:

Rockets strike Holon, Rishon Letzion; IDF: Expect a night without calm in central Israel’ three soldiers wounded in attack on Eshkol region; Military sources: more than 250 rockets fired by Gaza militants explode in Israel since beginning of operation, Iron Dome intercepts 105; IDF strikes over 250 targets in Gaza.

Slow news day?

Watch it happen blow-by-blow and consider what comes next.

Of course someone was watching OUR election results!

ETA: Also try this one.  Israel National News

I put this on the other post, but I think this goes here too.

And people in my office have NO clue what’s happening. I mentioned it just now to some of my more conservative co-workers and they had no idea ANYTHING was brewing there.

OWB

Naw – surely our election results could have no impact upon the actions of terrorists! Must be Bush’s fault. Or Fox News. Or somebody else, anybody else.

Kerry will fix it all, though, when he becomes concurrent SecDef and SecState. He probably won’t even need to leave the deck of his yacht. (Is it still parked in RI? Maybe on the Potomac somewhere now??)

@5

Scary things…so might most of the Senate.

Living in Israel

I’m currently living in Jerusalem, and I’m going to be that little ray of sunshine who appreciates the lack of international coverage because, let’s face it– reporters get in the way.

As long as everyone is looking at Jill Kelley’s boobs and the latest in DC scandals, that means nobody is looking at us, and nobody is telling us to knock it off… yet. This means Israel can unleash all the whoopass it wants against the Gaza Strip, without interference from the UN or the US State Department.

Thank you to everyone at TAH for us in mind!

Living in Israel

*for keeping us in mind.

@7 & 8

Stay safe. Looks like it’s going to get ugly there.

Athena

@7 Tell every Israeli you know we support them. God Bless.

This just popped up, from a Twitter feed on NBC:

I find that hitting the online Jerusalem Post and Al Jazeera is better than anything American news is offering when it comes to the current boom boom. I read one, then the other, and smack dab between their versions of what’s happening I discern the truth, all without some moron from CBS, MBC, or ABC telling ME what to think.

Ex-PH2

This story just ran on WGN Ch. 9, Chicago:

http://www.wgntv.com/news/wgntv-jihad-ads-on-cta-buses-spark-outrage-20121115,0,1298163.story

The ads are being run everywhere, not just in Chicago.

Common Sense

@ 14 – yeah, they’re running here in Denver too. There were a few complaints, but unlike other cities, Denver said they couldn’t discriminate for or against advertisers.

DaveO

Fortunately Hillary and Leon are safely tucked away in Australia, so Israel has a chance and extradition takes a while.

brat

@ 7 & 8! Ignore whatever the world media says (led usually by the BBC) – Israel DOES have support from the regular folk around the world (ncluding in Canada.)

Stay as safe as you can…

Ex-PH2

Taking guesstimates on how long before Israel IDF requests assistance from NATO/US.

Ex-PH2

@20 – Zero, you and me both.

OOOOH! Do you think maybe the Big Cheese bit off more than he can chew?

OWB

@ 7/8: There is plenty of support for Israel here in the US. Not just here at TAH either!

Take care and do what you must do.

Ex-PH2

I did not realize until just now that the Big Cheese has his own agenda:

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/15/15188050-obama-to-storm-battered-new-yorkers-youre-tough?lite

Needless to say, everything is fine. Just fine. Nothing is wrong anywhere in his world.

Ex-PH2

It does not help that the lame duck president is a geo-political idiot, a non-leader, and a flapping mouthed pablum spouter.

2-17 Air Cav

16,000 reservists have been called up, most are engineers for ground advances. The rumors are wearing uniforms.

Ex-PH2

Yes, indeedy. There shall be war, and rumors of war.

The Big Cheese was in Staten Island yesterday, giving hugs. Then he went home to face the looming fiscal cliff.

http://nbcpolitics.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/16/15196601-capitol-hill-leaders-to-huddle-with-obama-as-clock-ticks-on-fiscal-cliff?lite

All is not as well in the land of the Big Cheese, and I think it’s going to quickly become a lot less well for him, as lawmakers are threatening to block the appointment of Rice as Secy of State.

BK

I don’t trust this administration to foreign policy itself out of a wet paper bag with a flashlight and a hand grenade. FFS, apparently we don’t fix bayonets any more, or there’d be some hope.

I am heartened that 8% of the American Jewish community saw the light and voted Republican instead of Democrat this year. It’s significantly under-reported, but we’re a minority group that Obama actually lost ground with, and Israel is one of the largest reasons why.

#7 – have fun, we’re praying fervently tonight for the safety of Israel at shul.

Am Yisrael Chai!

Found this video on Hotair, shows Iron Dome in action! People outside looking up to see how many hits it gets…this looks as though Iron Dome cleaned house on the rockets.

http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2012/11/15/video-israels-iron-dome-missile-defense-system-in-action/

Well Done!

Give em hell Israel!!

Ex-PH2

I watched that video. Watched several of them. Somehow, I got a kick out of watching the Israeli missiles take out the Hamas missiles. Does that make me a bad girl?

I will definitely pay more attention when the tornado siren goes off, if it is not the first Tuesday of the month, which is the test day.
