That ‘duh’ moment
The Associated Press reports that General Carter Ham admitted yesterday that maybe it was al-Qaeda that was involved in the attack on the Benghazi, Libya consulate which left four dead Americans in it’s wake;
Al-Qaida links had been suspected in the attack on Sept. 11, but not publicly detailed.
“Clearly some of these individuals have some linkages to AQIM,” or al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, Gen. Carter Ham, the head of the U.S. military’s Africa Command, told reporters in Paris. “That’s not to say that this was an AQIM-planned or organized or led activity.” He did not elaborate.
Funny how al Qaeda’s involvement in the attack is finally addressed by this administration while the rest of the media is concentrating on trying to get pictures of Lebanese boobies and a week after the election during which this President claimed that al Qaeda is “on the ropes” thanks to his leadership. I guess “on the ropes” means something different in Washington than it does to the rest of the country.

“On the ropes” in reference to Al Qaeda is a euphemism for “lined up at the door, pushing and shoving for their chance to take another crack at the good ol’ US of A.”

And, if they have anything on Ham, Dempsey, et al…don’t worry the hammer will fall if they are like Petraeus. I am dead sure that he refused to lie about the incompetent empty suit and Benghazi, so BOOM, he gets totally deconstructed.
I know, Petraeus is a shit for being a cheater, and potential UCMJ breaker, but now, he’s got nothing to fucking lose. If Petraeus goes to jail, at least it will be with a clear conscience that he demanded accountability and refused to lie about what happened. That is my hope. Otherwise, it makes him a buddyfucker all around.

Since most everyone here (TAH) had figured that out since the beginning, can the Good General Hamsteak be relieved of his rank and position, and one of us take his place?? Seriously.
It wouldn’t have mattered if it had come out before the election. If the debt, deficit, Benghazi, spending, unemployment and food stamps numbers didn’t sway people, a little thing like al-Qaeda’s role in the attack wouldn’t.
The majority of the electorate was just focused on continuing their taxpayer-funded handouts. And because, you know, Romney was going to ban tampons.
The stupidity in this country is our downfall.

I have a friend who uses his Facebook account as a platform to “educate” his liberal friends. Pre-Election, he posted something about Benghazi and one of his friends posted something like “Why are you going on about this? It’s not a big deal. Give it a rest”.

If AQ didn’t plan or organize or lead the activity, who are you saying did all that, Gen Ham?? Just kind of curious about that particular point. Because it sounds like you are part of the group that is covering up for someone pretty big and important, Gen Ham.
If it wasn’t just another run of the mill terrorist attack, then what WAS it? And the bottom line is what? That perhaps we furnished a bunch of munitions and several truck loads of sensitive information about our defense capabilities to our enemies other than AQ??
I know it’s not terribly nuanced to say it this way, but you and the rest of the idiots who are supposed to be protecting us do understand that what one US enemy has he will soon share with every other US enemy, either as a gift or a sale? Not that it seems to be necessary any more – between the technology that is given away and the secret squirrel stuff that is left lying around in places like Benghazi there probably aren’t many state secrets remaining hidden from those most likely to use it against us.

All is well in Big Cheeseland. Everything is fine. Everything is just fine. “We are bound together. We have to look out for each other and not let our petty differences get in the way,” says the Big Cheese. (The emphasis on “we” makes me wonder if he has a mouse in his pocket.)
Meanwhile, the congressional investigation proceeds with the angry Honorables This and That wanting to know why, among other things, the person (Rice) who misled the American public is being nominated for Secretary of State.
Do not expect smooth, unruffled waters, my children. There is more than one layer of scum in the Land of Stench. There are many pockets of gas yet to erupt.
One can only hope to hear the Big Cheese cry “I’m melting. I’m melting!” before too long.
