Military Tribunal reconvenes in Gitmo

| October 15, 2012

The last time they held the tribunal in Guantanamo, I was live blogging from the CCTV terminal at Fort Meade, MD, but I won’t be doing that anymore. It was too resource intensive to attend on a weekday with the metro DC traffic (seein’s how traffic extends back a hundred miles from DC on somedays). Well, that and it’s extremely boring to sit and listen to lawyers trying to saw each other’s legs off with words.

But our buddies, Aunty Brat and War on Terror News have some thoughts on the trial today. I’m just glad that I’m not there and I’m not getting yelled at for taking pictures of the CCTV screen like I did last time.

But wait-I thought this was an offense against civil liberties that out law professor President was going to put an end to?!?

Well, at least he put an end to the outraged howling of the lefty commentariat.

Loach

I was in Gitmo in 2004 helping to get the tribunals up and running. Seems like forever ago.
