Standing on the broken bodies of veterans

| September 27, 2012

I’m proud to say that I took part in this little movement the other day on Facebook when some dinguses thought it would be a good idea to use the photo of Juan Dominguez, a triple amputee veteran for a fund-raising campaign. As soon as i found out that Juan hadn’t given his permission to use the photo of him in an ad, I used my customary stinging commentary at the Facebook page. But here’s the story from KGTV;

Just days after Dominguez moved into his specially designed “smart home” in Temecula, the triple amputee learned he and others were being used to pocket money for political fundraising efforts.

“That’s disgusting … I look at this and it’s being spread like wildfire through Facebook … within a matter of a couple hours, [it] had almost 700-plus shares; not likes, shares,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez told 10News a photo of himself from a Los Angeles Times article was used without his permission and taken out of context in the posting. Above the picture reads, “We are the 47%”

“Now I’m getting these comments like, ‘Yeah, good job on him for even supporting,’ and I never gave permission for my photo,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez does not claim a political party, nor does he have any opinions about the subject. All he’s asking for in this situation is a little respect, not money.

The Facebook page has been taken down, but the picture remains at Liberals Unite. Of course, typical of the Liberals who are afraid of opposing commentary, comments there have to be approved, which probably explains why there is only one comment showing.

What the heck is a Commisioned Warrant Officer?

Hondo

Twist: Army CWOs began receiving commissions as a result of the DAA of 1986. Prior to that time, Navy/USMC/USCG Warrant CWOs were commissioned, while all Army WOs – regardless of grade – were appointed. This difference in status withheld certain authorities from Army CWOs in leadership positions that were possessed by their USN/USMC/USCG counterparts.

Thanks Hondo. I always thought CWO was some sort of limbo between NCO and CO. You learn something every day.

Fucking shitbags. I hope he sues the hell out of them since that seems to be the only thing Liberals understand

Disgusting. It matters not the cause – to make a political point and/or earn money using someone else’s image without permission is beyond contempt.

Getting really, really sick of every clown who treats our warriors, particularly our wounded warriors, as public property that they can use and abuse.

Looks like they took down the photo as I didn’t see it when I was just there. Pigs.

Funny how it’s “OK” in Samuel Warde’s mind to STEAL an image and make graphics for his website. Even if Cpl Dominguez had given his permission to use his likeness, the photo itself would have been owned by the LA Times, so Samuel Warde would have to get their permission to use it. The fact that the stolen photo was of a wounded vet and Warde used it as though it was some stock photo with a model that signed a talent release makes it even more contemptible. I wonder if he bought stock photos for the family of five and the couple with all the cars? I tend to doubt it…

And hypocrite that Warde is, he then burns his URL into the graphics so that anybody who steals them from him has to promote his stupid website. Jeez.

Chip used about the most polite word I can think of for this…situation. And both sides are playing the game. And for them, it IS a game. They could give a rat’s hind leg about anybody…except themselves.

First, a salute to Juan Dominguez. He paid more than most must. Then, one for you, Jonn, for jumping in their FaceBook.
I leave it for the rest here to opine about the slithering slime responsible for this.
