Stealing from the troops
We got this link last night on our Facebook Fan Page which recounts the arrest of Terrence Ralph, a recent immigrant from Guyana and a Kennedy Airport employee who had been doing his shopping in packages intended for US troops in Germany according to the NY Daily News;
Postal inspectors had Ralph under surveillance for a week after reports of missing property surfaced from Germany, said Donna Harris of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
Packages that arrived in Germany with signs of tampering were traced to a sorting facility at the Queens airport, Harris said.
Ralph was caught red-handed when he was seen on surveillance tape “rifling through the parcels” that were bound for Germany, according to Harris.
Way to be grateful that we let you emigrate here, Terrence. Send him back to his craphole country – that should be punishment enough.

Ooh, had a guy at our base get caught tampering with the mail, that’s a federal offense. Someone’s gonna go spend some time in jail.
What’s the big deal? He is just doing his own “redistribution of wealth”. Any chance he would resembles Obama’s son?
And make sure his return flight drops him off in Guyana from at least 30K feet.
No Sparky, drop him in Guyana from about 300 feet. That way he gets the chance to lay on the ground and do a little thinking…for a few minutes at least.
He could indeed be looking at deportation if he’s a legal resident and not a US citizen. As I recall, tampering with the US Mail is a felony.
Hack, you needed to issue a *spew alert* there, amigo. lmao!
Apparently the NYC courts don’t think it is too big a deal:
Ralph was charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property and was issued a desk appearance ticket, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney said.
He is due back in court on June 21.

What a crock. Tampering with the US mail is now catch and release??

If he is here on a green card or other non-permanent status, revoke, send home, and publish a letter of thanks for his help with drug interdiction and understanding of Venezuelan operations in the country.
One thing to consider is that if these packages were sent FedEx or UPS versus US Mail, would the same protections apply?
Also, note that those are local charges. Feds haven’t gotten involved yet.
Good point, NHSparky. If these were UPS or FEDEX parcels, they’re not US Mail. Tampering with UPS or FEDEX parcels isn’t a Federal crime. That scenario would make it solely a state/local crime.
Guess some of us give away our age that stuff being sent via conveyance is automatically “US Mail” in our minds. *insert silly smirk*
Good point, Sparky.
I’ve got an idea. Don’t arrest this jerk, don’t deport him. Stuff him in one of the pilfered boxes with a note, and send it on to the troops that were supposed to get it.
His resultant lumps would be both swift and justified.
