Zombie: Associated Press releases staged fauxtographs from Lebanon

| May 15, 2012

Our buddy, Zombie, highlights the staged aspects of the photo above and a few others in Zombie’s latest post; Associated Press releases staged fauxtographs from Lebanon .

For example, the firer clearly seems to be at ease with a smirk on his face. Not to mention all of the spectators who don’t seem to be concerned about return fire that might go slightly wide. Do you really think that during a firefight, those tourists would hanging out the window watching?

In another picture, one of the mighty warriors is firing his shotgun just behind another dude’s head. Now I know that the shot stays in the wadding for a few feet after it leaves the barrel, but I don’t think that I’d like someone firing behind me, not to mention the noise factor when it’s fired so close to his ear.

In the fourth photo, while the gunman looks intent on his bound for cover, while there are two spectators relaxing behind him with big grins on their faces with total disregard for cover from incoming rounds.

Yeah, those pictures look pretty fake. I guess if you can’t get to the action in a timely manner, it’s OK to just make some shit up.

So, I’ll be releasing some photos from my walk on the Moon last week soon.

Seriously want to know a shithole that’s full of shitheads and/or terrorists? Look for the trash….fucking hippies that tax me for my car and my fuel need to take a look at this reality.

Isn’t that Steve Jordan’s backyard?

Methinks it’s a POLICY for said sheetheads to get as many civilians in the frame as possible in order to claim genocide when the return fire whacks them.

Concocting photos has been standard for many decades. Photographers and cameramen often participate in the fiction. Many, many of the photos used to accuse Israeli soldiers of atrocities are of the staged and edited sort. They make this stuff up with impunity, they promote it to the West; they promote it to themselves. No one really seems to mind the lies.

Does this really suprise anyone? The press will get the story and the picture they want. Reality is secondary to sensation and advertising. A few weeks ago we had combat camera out during a *relatively* long distance firefight (450m-ish) If you only saw the final cut you would see Afghan’s CASEVACing a wounded soldier, bravely returning accurate, well-aimed fire, and leading the column of soldiers for the assault element. On the other hand, if you were to see the raw helmet and hand held weapons footage that the piece was created from, you would see Americans drop and immediately begin to return fire while the ANA sprint to their vehicles. You would also see American medics and soldiers handing off the stretcher to the Afghans for the photo-op. Just like yesterday’s “running for the exits” post, we brief what they want to hear, and show what they want to see. It’s all in the spin baby!

Old Trooper

No muzzle flash in any of the pictures. No small puffs of smoke from the barrels. No debris being stirred up around the muzzles as the weapons are fired. No shells being ejected (even Steve Jordan faked that, not very well, but he tried). No evidence of these weapons being fired whatsoever. To me, it looks like staged poses from the JCPenney catalog.

IMO these are as fake as Pam Anderson’s rack.

An 870/590 with a magazine conversion? That’s pretty rare.

Where is the green helmet guy?
