Just A Blustery Day On My Ridge
Courtesy of Ezra Pound:
Winter is icummen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm,
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
and how the wind doth ramm,
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Freezeth river, turneth liver,
Damn you, sing: Goddamm.
Goddamm, Goddamm, ’tis why I am, Goddamm,
So ‘gainst the winter’s balm.
Sing goddamm, damm, sing Goddamm,Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.
Dunno, doesn’t really fit here at TAH, but until Jonn cuts the umbilical you get The Geezer’s ramblings.
Category: Geezer Alert!
What… your leaf blower frakked again?
Damm…
DaveO #1: Not to put too fine of a point on it. This time of year we get 40 mph gusts. Never needed a leaf blower?
I’m in Oklahoma. Even suburbanites don’t need a leaf blower in Oklahoma.
Pretty much nails it for life in Maine too.
Been gusty and drizzling the past few days. Supposed to get some relief through Sunday, then back to the cold & wet blow.
Neighbor asked if I was going to rake leaves, I told him he should rake’em if it bothered him since when that 30mph due tomorrow blows they’re going to be in his yard anyway.
GruntSgt #5: There it is! Prevailing winds here blow the leaves onto some lumber company patch?
Up here in WA State the leaves get so wet the wind or leaf blowers will not move them, I have to rake them to the river bank and the next flood takes them to Puget Sound, we are looking at about 4 months of 36-38 temps and gray skies. At least in the mts it will be snowing a bunch and I can go snomobiling.
