Burglarized Valor

| September 14, 2011

Scott sends a link to an article from San Antonio about a wounded, wheelchair-bound Afgahanistan veteran, Nick Perales, whose apartment was ransacked and some electronics stolen, but to make matters worse, they stole his medals including the Purple Heart representing his sacrifice that put him in that wheelchair;

“It pisses me off, it makes me really mad because I’ve done a lot for that,” said Perales.

“Not only do they not care about the men who have served, but they don’t care about themselves because anyone who can come into some ones home and take something they have earned and obviously lost a lot for, they don’t care,” said Perales’ wife Krista Walker.

The article states that law enforcement has recovered evidence from the burglary. I hope the thief pulls a gun out on the cops and gets a summary firing squad.

Not to be cruel, but thieves: 1) broke into his residence; and 2) stole stuff. Thieves aren’t exactly caring, sympathetic human beings. He can get his medals back, but not his sense of security.
