YouTube jihadist charged with “material support of terrorism”

| September 3, 2011

Rusty Shackelford at The Jawa Report writes that Pakistani immigrant, Jubair Ahmad, who lives in a DC suburb has been charged with “material support of terrorism” based solely on his YouTube activities;

The charges were announced by Neil H. MacBride, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Lisa Monaco, Assistant Attorney General for National Security; and James W. McJunkin, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office.

If convicted, Jubair faces a maximum potential sentence of 15 years in prison on the material support charge and eight years in prison on the charge of making false statements in a terrorism investigation.

However, the Washington Examiner reports that there are other charges involved and Ahmad faces more jail time;

Ahmad was charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and making false statements in a terrorism investigation. He faces up to 23 years in prison if convicted of both charges.

Shackleford, an expert at shutting down terrorist internet activities, says this is the first time in his memory that a jihadist has been charged with supporting terrorists solely with YouTube postings.

There goes another hole in the First Amendment. Arrested solely on thought, not action.
Welcome to the Progressive liberal world, where there are no crimes, only criminals.

It’s about time that the Feds took a long look at what YouTuve has allowed to be posted.

What’s even more outrageous, to my mind, is that YouTube will flag and shut down accounts that post copyrighted music, or that post videos with US gun camera film as being “violent” but still permits jihadist videos to appear.

I’ve helped to flag many of these videos and let me tell you, it takes a HELL of a lot of complaining to get any YouTube Jihad account suspended, but only one or two of any other type.

You want to be banned from YouTube quickly? Try posting anti-Jihad or anti-Islamic videos. You won’t last a day.

Post one of AQ or a tribute to Bun Laden? You’ll have a million followers.

If they’re going after this chucklehead, there are many more, like code pinko, that should be thrown in the jug as well. This guy only blabbed on youtube, code pinko holds rallies, protests, and even gives cash to jihadis and they’re still running around free as a bird.

Maybe this guy should have been a bundler for democrat fundraising then he would be hailed as a hero instead.
