Weepy Wiener; I lied

| June 6, 2011

With crocodile tears, Anthony Wiener admitted today that he’s been lying to the entire country for more than a week about sending pictures of “Little Anthony” through his Twitter account – but only after more pictures were uncovered today. He claims that he’s accepting responsibility for his actions, but refuses to resign as his fellow New Yorker Christopher Lee did. Of course the difference between Wiener and Lee is that Lee was a Republican.

I suppose that Wiener doesn’t realize that every time anyone looks at him, all they’ll see is Little Anthony bulging through his underwear.

In honesty, though, that’s all I saw when I looked at him before this anyway – a little dickhead.

If New Yorkers return him to office next year, they’re clearly not interested in being well-represented in Congress. Is he the best person for the job in his district? Is there no one in his district with better judgement than Wiener? The bald-faced lies aside, how can his judgement not be called into question at this point?

Whether he was unfaithful to his new bride or not, just engaging in this kind of behavior shows weak moral failings. How do people know that he’s not lying with every word? How can we believe he’s contrite about this poor behavior? He’s obviously sorry that he’s been caught – but not so sorry that he couldn’t tell the truth last week when his primary face wasn’t in the picture.

But there’s an obvious double standard at work here between Wiener and Lee. If he was truly contrite, Wiener would leave public life so we bloggers wouldn’t have to write new punchlines for every time his weaselly face pops up in the news.

Glen Beck says that Wiener’s judgement should be questioned just because he thinks he’s hot enough that women want naked pictures of him.

New York isn’t interested in good representation, just folks who’ll send the pork their way. They have lifestyles to maintain donchaknow.

One of the girls he was exchanging pics with is an Army Veteran, and thus this is BIG in veterans related issues, so until I hear from VoteVets, I refuse to believe this is over. I mean, if all the other shit is worthy of “veterans related” status, this must be.

Wienerschnitzel!

Claymore

Did anyone else sit there listening to his press conference thinking it would have been a bajillion times better if “YMCA” were playing in the background?

Doc Bailey

Gee another sex scandal of a prominent Democrat. Who could have seen that coming.

Via KTRH-Houston: Pelousi says Weiner to be investigated.
Update: Via KTRH-Houton: Weiner says he will cooperate with investigation..

And, we all know how ethical the D’s will be with one of their own.

At least he had the stones to come out fully at a news conference, accept full responsibility and then field questions. Most politicians who get caught up in this stupidness just issue a press release or make a prepared statement standing next to their wife and then scurry off to their house to hide for a few months.

UpNorth

NSOM, I think that he found “the stones” after the other pics came out. He managed to dodge and weave before they surfaced quite well. I don’t buy the I can’t resign because my constituents need me BS. If he had the stones, he’d resign.
“or make a prepared statement standing next to their wife and then scurry off to their house to hide for a few months.” Would that be client #9, aka Elliot Spitzer, D-NY?

NotSoOldMarine

re: #9

Yeah or Vitter or Clinton or that idiot from Idaho (Craig?) or any of the dozens of other people who lose their minds and risk flushing their careers because they can’t control their impulses they start the PR damage control.

Weiner’s totally screwed the pooch here and he should probably just resign. I don’t really care all that much that he’s swapping nude pics with women of the internet, that’s his wife’s problem. The lying pretty much sealed the deal though.

Doc Bailey

we could always pull up #42 and his “it depends on what your definition of what is is”

Also “Moveon.org” was originally supposed to get the nation to move on from the fact that the POTUS committed a crime. That’s over with. What are we moving on with now?

We could throw out #35, who had so many mistresses We’re STILL not sure how many he had, and some had some NASTY connections

We could also throw out #36 and “Johnson’s Johnson” how he regularly harassed and screwed everything that moved, also how he intimidated his own staff with nudity and briefings on the toilet.

so far no sex scandals from Carter or Obama, but those worthies far make up for lacking morals in other ways.

We know Dems have one standard for themselves, and another for their enemies. That isn’t the point anymore. I’m still bothered by the statements that he’s ‘pretty sure the women were all of legal age.’ Until the ages of the women are verified, Representative Weiner is suspected of sexual crime toward a minor.

That’s a bit worse than lying. We expect lying from a politico. That’s a bit worse than adultery, which doesn’t carry felony charges and won’t keep him from returning to political office.

Pedophilia, lewd and lascivious exposure to a minor? We flipped out when it was Representative Mark Foley. We shouldn’t be so quick to forgive or forget that in Weiner either.

Bubblehead Ray

OK… I just can’t stop laughing at the phrase “Weepy Wiener”. LMAO

Barney Frank was asked for a comment on the controversy-
“Mmmmm weiner (dwool)”

In all seriousness this assclown needs to go, if you can’t be faithful with your spouse how can you be faithful to your constituents?

defendUSA

Wiener is one cocky bastard, no pun intended. To blatantly lie and then tell the public he will not resign is bullshit. He is like all the other democrats who have gotten caught at anything. They believe an apology is all that is necessary…no retribution, no shame, and of course, no change in the behavior, just get better at not being caught.

I will ask because everyone has thought it…If this were a conservative, what would happen?

Wiener is despicable and his wife must be a real loser to tolerate such stupidity and disrespect.

Doc Bailey

Sadly in the entire history of the House and senate, there have only been 20 expulsions. 15 senators, 5 Reps. If Charlie Rangle, WHO BROKE THE LAW, or Barney Frank who was pretty damn close to doing the same (if not just being a toxic little puss) Christopher Lee fell on his own sword, at least you can respect “taking full responsibility” AND CONSEQUENCES for his actions.

I doubt very highly we will see expulsions, or resignations in this era of “Moral relativism”

UpNorth

Agreed Doc. If Alcee Hastings can be impeached, and removed from the fed bench, then get a life-time gig in the House of Reps, because of his melanin content and geography, why should anyone expect the Weeping Weiner to resign. Even if he was removed, the asshats in his district would just return him to the House

Doc Bailey

another strong case for term limits and stricter rules on member decorum.

Army Sergeant

I wouldn’t be too sure his wife is tolerating it. You may have noticed her conspicuous absence at the press conference-I sure did.
